1 Installation Instructions for 90ELED-DCP Round or Square Chicago Plenum Down Light Housing with Lamp LED E_-L_DC. LED - ROUND/ SQUARE GENERAL PRODUCT I NFORMATION: This product is suitable for indoor locations. This product can be dimmed with a standard electronic dimmer. This instruction shows a typical installation. CAUTION - RISK OF FIRE This product must be installed in accordance with the applicable installation code by a person familiar with the construction and operation of the product and the hazards involved. Use minimum 90 c supply conductors. Install the Housing with Adjustable Bars A B INNER ADJUSTABLE BAR HOUSING NAIL LEAVE TAB IN PLACE BREAK OFF AND DISCARD ½ to ¾ ¾ or thicker HOUSING CLASP NOTE: Skip this section if installing the housing with butterfly brackets. OUTER ADJUSTABLE BAR STOP POINT Keep Tab for ceiling ½ to ¾ thick. When using adjustable hanger bars with ½ to ¾ thick ceilings, leave the tab of the hanger bars in place. Break off Tab for ceiling ¾ or thicker. When using adjustable hanger bars with ¾ or thicker ceilings, remove the tab by bending it at the perforation. TAB Slide the inner adjustable bar completely through the three housing clasps. Make sure the nail is on top. Slide and push the outer adjustable bar completely onto the inner adjustable bar so that the tab clicks into place behind the stop point.this will prevent the adjustable bars from coming apart. Repeat steps & for the other side of the housing.

2 C D NAIL ADJUSTABLE BAR HOUSING NAIL JOIST TRIM HOLDER TRIM HOLDER NOTCH NOTCH NOTE: The adjustable bars can be mounted to joists that are spaced " - " apart. HOUSING Align the bottom of the end plates with the bottom of the ceiling joists. TRIM HOLDER Level the adjustable bars and, with a hammer, tap the nails completely into the joists to secure the adjustable bars in place. # SELF TAPPING SCREW Adjust the trim holder position (horizontal position) by sliding the housing on adjustable bars. When the desired location is achieved, tighten the two # self tapping screws to lock the housing onto the adjustable bars. TIP: Notches in trim holder can be used to align multiple housings using a laser or string.

3 Install the Housing with Butterfly Brackets Connect Power to the Housing A BUTTERFLY BRACKET NOTCH TRIM HOLDER A TABS ELECTRICAL BOX COVER WING NUT NOTE: Skip to page if installing the housing with adjustable bars. Slightly loosen the wing nut to slide the butterfly bracket up or down. B Push up on the tabs on the electrical box and remove the electrical box cover. After achieving the proper location, tighten the wing nut to secure the butterfly bracket in place. Repeat steps and on for the other butterfly bracket. Utilize the butterfly brackets to install the housing in accordance with local electrical codes. TIP: Notches in trim holder can be used to align multiple housings using a laser or string. Install the conduit to the housing electrical box. Run the power line wires into the housing electrical box. If required by local electrical code, leave enough slack wire in the housing electrical box to facilitate extending the branch circuit connections through the fixture aperture to facilitate inspection. NOTE: If utilizing NM type cable in conjunction with snap-in/push-in connectors (see image for example), a service loop can be left available outside the housing electrical box allowing for additional cable to be pulled through the connector making the branch circuit connections extend out through the aperture if needed. WARNING: RISK OF FIRE: When using the housing electrical box for power feed through, use MAX - # AWG, or - # AWG branch circuit wires.

4 Install Drywall C A -/" -/" Connect the neutral power line wire to the white transformer wire with a wire nut. ROUND TRIM HOLDER SQUARE TRIM HOLDER Connect the hot power line wire to the black thermal protector wire with a wire nut. Make sure that housing is grounded in accordance with local electrical codes. For round trims, mark a -/" diameter circle on drywall. Cut out the marked section. For square trims, mark a -/" square on drywall. Cut out the marked section. For models with a 0-0V dimming driver, use the purple and grey wire to connect to a compatible dimmer. B Replace the electrical box cover. Make sure that the top edge of the cover snaps under the tab. DRYWALL TRIM HOLDER JOIST Align the cut out section of drywall with the trim holder and install drywall. WARNING: Risk of Fire: The housing is not intended to be in contact with or covered with combustible materials and insulation. Do not install insulation within inches of the housing sides or above in such a manner to entrap heat.

5 Install Plaster Ring (For Flangeless Versions) A TAB TAB B #- SCREW #- SCREW ROUND PLASTER RING SQUARE PLASTER RING Secure the plaster ring in place with the two provided flat head #- screws. Make sure that the screws penetrate through the drywall into the housing screw holes. NOTE: Do not overtighten the screws! Overtightening may bend the plaster ring, causing the plaster surface to come away from the drywall. C CUT OUT CUT OUT Line up the two tabs in back of the plaster ring with the two cut out sections of the trim holder inside edge. Push the plaster ring tabs into the cut out sections of the trim holder edge. Plug the trim holder with the provided dust shield. Properly plaster onto the plaster ring and drywall. D Finish around the trim to match drywall.

6 Replacing the Lamp A C BACK VIEW SIDE VIEW C AUTION:To reduce the risk of a burn or electric shock during relamping, disconnect the power to the fixture. Place the lamp assembly on a clean, flat surface with the lamp side down. Remove the trim from the fixture. Loosen and remove all four screws on the back of the lamp assembly and set them aside. B Loosen all three screws from the lamp assembly and lower the lamp assembly. CONNECTOR ( INSIDE) D FRONT COVER LAMP HEATSINK PLUG Hold the lamp assembly together and flip it over. Lift the front cover off. Pull the old lamp out. POWER CONNECTOR POWER PLUG 9 0 Use ONLY WATT proprietary Element Lighting LED lamp. Peel the liner off the thermal pad on the new lamp. Line up the square and round pegs in the new lamp with the holes in the heatsink and push the new lamp into place. Replace the front cover. Place the lamp assembly on a clean, flat surface with the lamp side down and reinstall the screws into the back. Reconnect the power plug and reinstall the lamp assembly into the housing. Reinstall the trim. Disconnect the lamp power plug from the connector inside the housing on the electrical box side.
