Step 4 Determining Reference Height and Fastening First Row of Wall Brackets Instructions a) Measure the total length of video wall mounting frame in order to determine center point for wall installation. Take total length / 2 to determine center point. Diagrams Determining center point for video wall. b) Mark wall with centre point. c) Mark wall with outside measurements of video wall as shown in figure 4A. IMPORTANT Mounting hardware not supplied For wood or metal studded walls only d) Determine location of all wall studs that are behind video wall and mark each stud accordingly using stud finder. See figure 4B. For concrete or concrete block walls only e) Depending on number of Wall Brackets (Part E) supplied, determine placement by evenly spacing them out Fig. 4A Fig. 4B Video Wall Installation Manual 2WX3H, 3WX3H Page 14
f) At either end of the video wall placement, mark the outer most stud to the finished height of video panels less 10 cm. g) Using a laser level mark this reference point (height) at each stud behind the video wall. See figure 4C, and 4D. h) These marks at each stud will be the used to drill holes for mounting the Wall Brackets (Part E). IMPORTANT All of these Wall Brackets MUST be exactly the same height! Fig. 4C Fig. 4D NOTE In the event one of the Wall Brackets still has the tabs attached you will need to break them off otherwise the tab may interfere with flush mounting of Wall Bracket to wall surface. They can be easily removed using a pair of pliers or slotted screwdriver. Refer to diagrams 4E or 4F. 4E) Removal using Pliers 4F) Removal using slotted screw driver Video Wall Installation Manual 2WX3H, 3WX3H Page 15
IMPORTANT Wall mounting hardware not supplied i) Referring to chart below, determine the number of Wall Brackets (Part E) to be fastened to wall for ONLY THE VERY TOP RAIL AT THIS TIME. Model Wall Brackets 2W x 3H 3 3W x 3H 4 j) Based on the stud locations (behind video wall) determine placement of the very top rail Wall Brackets (Part E) as close to ideal placement shown in figure 4G. k) Fasten the very top rail Wall Brackets ONLY to studs at the reference points marked. Fig. 4G Video Wall Installation Manual 2WX3H, 3WX3H Page 16
Step 5 Mounting the Frame Structure Instructions IMPORTANT Depending on size of Video Wall, 2 or more persons may be required to lift frame structure and attach to Wall Brackets. a) With 2 or more persons carefully lift frame structure and rest it on top of all the wall brackets fastened to wall. See figure 5A. b) Slide the Square Nuts (Part N) previously inserted into bottom T-slot of rail so each they line up with centre hole of Wall Brackets. See figure 5B and 5C. Hint: Use a small slotted screw driver or similar object to slide Square Nuts within the channel. c) Place Screw (Part N2) into Wall Bracket and hand tighten into Square Nut. d) The frame structure will now support itself. Diagrams Fig. 5A Fig. 5B Fig. 5C Video Wall Installation Manual 2WX3H, 3WX3H Page 17
e) Repeat above steps and attached remaining Wall Brackets as indicated in figure 5D. IMPORTANT: Only hand tighten Screws into Square Nuts for each Wall Bracket at this time. Fig. 5D Video Wall Installation Manual 2WX3H, 3WX3H Page 18
Step 6 Ensuring Frame Structure is Straight and Plumb Instructions IMPORTANT: It is extremely important the frame structure is straight along the entire length of structure and plumb the entire length down the wall. Do not push the frame structure against the wall. The frame structure is designed to act as the support structure for the panels and not the wall itself. Diagrams a) Since almost all walls are not built straight, you will need to use a laser level to ensure the frame structure is straight along the entire length of structure. See figure 6A. b) In the event a portion of horizontal section needs to be adjusted slightly inwards or outwards the Wall Brackets do have a slot to allow for these adjustments. See figure 6B. Fig. 6A c) If required, use shims from Shim kit (Part SK) if further adjustments required. d) Once the frame structure is straight, plum and level tighten each screw to secure and lock frame the frame in position. Tighten the loose Screws at Wall Bracket once frame is straight horizontally and vertically Fig. 6B Video Wall Installation Manual 2WX3H, 3WX3H Page 19
Step 7 Mounting Video Panels to Frame Structure Instructions IMPORTANT: Before mounting any video panels recheck to ensure all hardware has been tighten to prevent any physical damage to video panels falling or personal injury. a) In previous Step 1, the Panel VESA Brackets (Part D) should have been attached to back of video panels at the VESA mount locations. Diagrams Video panels are to be installed onto frame structure in alphabetical order as shown in figure 7A. Fig. 17 b) Install bottom row of video panels first and make any necessary adjustments as shown in Step. 8 c) Then install next row and make any necessary adjustments as shown in Step 8. d) Repeat for each row. TIP: Use the thickness of two (2) business card as the ideal separation gap (1mm) between video panels one above the other. Fig. 7A Video Wall Installation Manual 2WX3H, 3WX3H Page 20
e) To mount video panels, lift them one at a time and slightly tilt panel then insert the downward pointing tab at top of each Panel VESA Bracket into the T-slot of top of rail. See figures 7B and 7C. f) Make sure both Panel VESA Brackets are inserted properly otherwise video panel may fall. See figure 7D. g) Once video panels are mounted to rail they can be moved sideways by simply sliding them on the rail. h) Repeat for all remaining panels to be mounted. Fig. 7B Fig. 7C Fig. 7D Video Wall Installation Manual 2WX3H, 3WX3H Page 21
Step 8 Video Panel Alignment Instructions Aligning Panels Inwards/Outwards The video panels share the same top rail in also all cases the front face of video panels will always line up to each other. To align bottom of two (2) adjacent video panels an inward/outward micro adjustment screw is located on lower section of each Panel VESA Bracket. See figure 8A. Diagrams a) To move bottom of panel outwards hand turn alignment screw counter clockwise. b) To move bottom of panel inwards hand turn alignment screw clockwise. Aligning Panels Horizontally Fig. 8A IMPORTANT: First proceed to Step 9 on next page to gain access to panel requiring vertical alignment. a) Once you have access to desired video panel and while panel is still attached to mounting rails; b) Simply slide the video panel on horizontal rail to desired position. Aligning Panels Vertically Top or bottoms of two (2) adjacent panels do not align evenly. See figure 8D. IMPORTANT: 1) First proceed to Step 9 on next page to gain access to panel requiring vertical alignment. 2) If the panels require more than +-3mm adjustment stop and recheck you followed installation instructions correctly. a) Once you have access to desired video panel and while panel is still attached to mounting rails; b) Turn the top screw clockwise to slowly raise the end of video panel. See figure 8C. c) Turn the top screw counter clockwise to lower the end of video panel. See figure 8C. Fig. 8B Fig. 8C Fig. 8D Video Wall Installation Manual 2WX3H, 3WX3H Page 22
IMPORTANT In the event panels do not mount correctly on frame, the most common cause is result of frame not mounted level and plumb. If you still need assistance with the installation, we are a phone call away at (905) Video Wall Installation Manual 2WX3H, 3WX3H Page 23
Step 9 Installing Monitor Security Locks (Optional Item) Instructions The Monitor Security Locks (optional item) are only required to fasten monitors on the very top row of video wall. a) Place one (1) Monitor Security Lock on either the left or right top of Panel VESA Bracket for each monitor located at very top row. See Figure 9A. Diagrams b) Once the Monitor Security Lock has been positioned directly on top of Panel VESA Bracket, secure the lock by tightening the two (2) screws. See Figure 9B. Fig. 9A Fig. 9B Video Wall Installation Manual 2WX3H, 3WX3H Page 24
