2 GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS 1. All schools have to report at the school reception by on Friday, November 8, 2013 latest by 8:15AM. *On-site registration will close by 9:00 AM* 2. Registration can be done either by post or online. The dates for the following are as follows: By Post: Thursday, October 25, 2013 Online: Friday, October 26, All students are required to carry their School ID cards. 4. No student may participate in more than one event. 5. The participants are requested to go through the event instructions provided on our website ( carefully. Please make sure to stay connected for further updates. 6. Decision of the judges will be final and binding. 7. Class groups must be strictly followed. 8. The prize winning schools must be present during prize distribution ceremony to collect the prizes. 9. The school with the maximum points will be awarded the winning trophy, provided they participate in ALL the events.

4 Event Details Xpressions CATEGORY: Classes III-V Software provided: TUX Paint Students would be required to create an image the theme for which would be provided on the spot. External devices are prohibited. Poster Making CATEGORY: Classes V-VIII Software provided: Microsoft Office Word / Google Picasa Students have to prepare a poster on the given topic. Images will be provided to the students. Slyde-IT (PowerPoint) CATEGORY: VI-VIII The students have to prepare a PPT on the topic IOS vs. Android and have to present it at the venue. The PPT should be compatible with Microsoft Office 2007 (.pptx). Team should come prepared with their presentation in the PowerPoint Show Format (.ppsx).

5 WebTronix (Web-Designing) CATEGORY: Classes XI- XII You own a firm that designs websites for other companies. You need a website to attract other companies to opt for your services Participants should prepare the website to be brought on CD/USB with all project files used. Site should be made in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jquery (all plugins allowed). Photoshop CS6 is prohibited. The website should be compatible with Google Chrome (28 and higher), Mozilla Firefox (19 and higher), opera 13, and Microsoft Internet Explorer 10. Motion capture (Movie Making) CATEGORY: OPEN RULES: Software provided: Adobe AfterEffects, Adobe Premier, Adobe Photoshop, Sony Vegas, Windows Movie Maker, CyberLink Power Director, Audacity, FL Studio and Sound Forge. The theme is Stop-Motion Movie-Making. Here is a sample: The video should be 5:00-6:00 minutes long (credits included). The video must be uploaded on YouTube and the link should be sent to us at nexus.dpsgrn@gmail.com latest by Saturday, November 2, All sources (video clips, soundtracks, etc.) used should be mentioned at the end of the video. The 8 shortlisted teams will be announced on our Facebook page four days prior to the event. Team members would be required to come to the event along with their project files. Contestants would be required to present their project files and should expect cross-questioning. Points would be deducted for using templates. All footage must be original.

6 Beat-IT (Audio Mixing) CATEGORY: X-XII Software provided: Virtual DJ Teams have to create a mix of 5 minutes from the tracks provided. Students are required to bring their own headphones. External devices are not allowed. Source_Code (Programming) CATEGORY: Classes XI- XII Software: Turbo C++ Use of graphics library is prohibited. Programs will be based on modelling real world paradigms. Battlefield-X (Gaming) CATEGORY: OPEN NO. OF PARTICIPANTS PER TEAM: 1 Participants are allowed to bring their own gaming gear. The gaming platforms shall include both PC and Console. Participants are not allowed to bring any other external devices or Configuration Files. They shall however be given enough time to configure their gaming station.

7 Surprise Event CATEGORY: XI-XII Trololololol! Whoa!! Trying to be smart, eh? It is a SURPRISE event. Captura (Photography) CATEGORY: Classes XI-XII NO. OF PARTICIPANTS PER TEAM: 1 Theme: School Life! Participants are required to send their THREE best snaps on the theme via latest by Saturday, November 2, The top five finalists will be announced on our Facebook page four days prior to the event. The final round will be held at school.

8 Digi-Dreams (Digital Imaging) CATEGORY: Classes IX-XII Software Provided: Photoshop CS5 External devices are not allowed. The topic will be given on the spot. IT-Quest (Quiz) CATEGORY: X-XII There will be one preliminary round through which 6 teams will qualify for the on-stage final round. Knowledge Symposium (Group Discussion) CATEGORY: XI-XII NO. OF PARTICIPANTS PER TEAM: 1 The Group Discussion will consist of preliminary rounds followed by a final round. The topics for the discussion would be provided on the spot.
