3 Flash programming procedure for Pelican machines. Only for machines mounted with a sensor. In the Pelican there is a new version software with a coin setup system for uro coins and for USD coins. For countries that does not use uro or USD coins choose 0 = No when the machine ask for uro or USD coins. The following procedure will happen when new software has been downloaded to the machine, or there has been preformed a Pelican plus : 1 It is important to select the correct machine in order to have the solenoide for out-sorting working correct. Choose 1 = YES for new style Pelican S+ models, and 0 = NO for old style Pelican S models. Press 1 and the display will show: Euro calibration : 1 Choose 1 = Yes if the machine has to count uro coins. It is important to choose 1 = Yes if the machine should be set to count uro coins. For other countries that does not use uro coins choose 0 = No, and look in menu 1 how to proceed

4 The machine will start to calculate; after this is done the display will show: Deposit 1,00 Euro 0 Here you have to insert 20 pcs. Of 1,00 Euro coins. They have to run through the sensor 5-10 times. It is to give the best calibration of the EURO coins. The coins will go to the bag attached for the 1,00 Euro coins. (bag 6) or bag 1 if it is a Pelican 301 S+ that it used. When the machine is done with calculation the display will show: Sens. In right Pos.? Press ENTER Press Enter and the display will show: Now the machine is ready to be calibrated. If 0 = No was chosen in the Euro calibration window Menu 1. Euro auto calibr : 1 Select 0 = No for none Euro coins and the display will show: Setup Select 0 10? Now the machine is ready for setup of coins and calibration. Look in setup manual under Setup 3 and Setup 4. 4

In the Pelican there is a new version software with a coin setup system for USD coins. For countries that do not use USD coins the following will not be shown. Please go to page 7 if your machine is equipped with sensor but is not counting USD coins. The following procedure will happen when new software has been downloaded to the machine, or there has been preformed a Pelican plus : 1 It is important to select the correct machine in order to have the solenoide for out-sorting working correct. Choose 1 = Yes for new style Pelican S+ models, and 0 = No for old style Pelican S models. Press 1 and the display will show: US - dime : 1 Choose 1 = Yes if you want the software to setup the machine to count USD coins. It is important to choose 1 = Yes if you want to count USD coins on the machine. Sens. in right pos.? Press ENTER 5

6 Press ENTER and the printer will start a printout similar to this: If there is no printer connected the display will show: Calculating After approximately 10 seconds the coin wheel will start, and the display will show: Depos. CTcoin coins Deposit 4 "CTcoin coins" in the coin bowl. The machine will start and stop 5 times. Every time the machine stops, the display will show : deposit CTcoin coins. The CTcoin coins will be registered and sorted out, by the sensor out sorting magnet, and go down in drawer 0. If you don t deposit the CTcoin coins, the coin wheel will keep on running, and can not be turned off without turning the machine off. If there are coins left in the coin bowl, after the coin wheel has stopped the last time, remove the remaining coins. If a printer is connected the printer will now print out the latest measurement points, on the same printout as earlier. 6

7 The printout will now look similar to this. The numbers can be different: When the machine stops the display will show: It is no longer necessary to enter "Set-up 3", coin no. and value for typing in the values for the different coin denominations. This is now standard in the software. 7

The following procedure will happen when new software has been downloaded to the machine, or there has been preformed a If it is chosen to calibrate none uro coins the following must be done: Menu 1 Pelican plus 1 It is important to select the correct machine in order to have the solenoide for out-sorting working correct. Choose 1 = Yes for new style Pelican S+ models, and 0 = No for old style Pelican S models. Press 1 = Yes and the display will show: Euro auto calibra.: 1 Choose 0 = No for no uro coins and the display will show: Sens. in right pos.? Press ENTER 8

If the CTcoin coins are not deposit, the coin wheel will keep on running, and cannot be turned off without turning the machine off. If a printer is connected the printer will now print out the latest measurement points, on the same printout as earlier. 9

10 The printout will now look similar to this. The numbers can be different: When the machine stops the display will show: Now the machine is ready for setup of coins and calibration. 11 1. SET-UP The set-up must only be performed by authorised personnel. The main set-up consists of 12 sub functions To enter the main programme press 5 and keep the touch down while pressing ENTER and PROG. Set-up Select 0-10? Select a set-up number and press ENTER : When a set-up number has been chosen each set-up has several sub menus. Most of them must be replied by 1 for Yes or 0 for No. In other cases a number must be chosen. Set-up 0 Press 0 followed by ENTER or just PROG (= Escape) to get out of the set-up function. Set-up 1 batch counting / reset total / CLR main counter Set-up no. 1 starts with 4 different ways of handling the bag stop and memory functions. Each of these must be answered by combinations of 3 times Yes or No. Memory function 1: (011) = No bag stop. Delete all. The number 011 stands for No/Yes/Yes for example Stop counting: No / Delete all: Yes / Delete main counter: Yes. The display shows: Menu 1: Batch counting: 0 Choose 0 = No and press ENTER. 11

13 Memory: Function 2: (111) = Bag stop, delete all. The number (111) stands for: Stop counting: Yes / Delete all: Yes / Delete main counter: Yes. If 1 = Yes is selected, it will be possible to select a quantity stop at a certain number of coins for the middle drawers (this function can only be used if a reject plate is mounted). 16 Quick bag change Menu 4: Quick bag change 0 1 = Yes, 0 = No Select 1 or 0 and press ENTER. To see how this function works please refer to the User s Manual. Delay bag stop Menu 5: Delay bag stop: 0 Select 1 or 0 and press ENTER. To see how this function works please refer to the User s manual. Coin weight Menu 6: Coin weight 0 1 = Yes, 0 = No Select 1 or 0 and press ENTER. If 0 = No is chosen all the bag stops will be in number of coins instead of weight. If 1 = Yes is chosen all the bag stops will be by weight = kilo 1, 2, 3 and so on. If 1 = Yes is chosen it is necessary to code the weight (in grammes per 100 coins). Please refer to set-up 3 where coin no., bag number and value are programmed. 16

17 Accept equal coins Menu 6: Accept equal coins 0 This menu is only to be used when you are sure that you have calibrated the right coins. Remember that the possibility for miscounting can occur when you use this Setup. Menu 7: Clr full bags 0 Select 1 or 0 and press ENTER ( 0 = No is standard). If 1 = Yes is chosen it is possible to redraw a filled bag from the total at the time the bag is removed from the machine. Number of bags Menu 8: No of bags 1-9? 9 New value? Choose the number of bags for the models: press 1 = 1 drawer / bag 305 S+ press 5 = 5 drawers / bags 309 S+ press 9 = 9 drawers / bags 17

18 Set-up 2 Menu 1: Decimals: Decimals 0-3 Finish w. ENTER 2 By the use of the arrow keys the number of decimals can be chosen. Finish with ENTER. Menu 2: Language: Language: 0 0 = Engl. 1 = xxxx Choose the language by the pressing 0 or 1 and finish by ENTER 0 = Engl. will always be English. xxxx will be the language for the actual country, that will be chosen during the flash programming. Menu 3: Keyboard sound: Keyboard sound: 1 1 = Yes, 0 = No Select 1 or 0 and press ENTER. If 1 = Yes is chosen, the display will show: Menu 4: Sound level: Sound level 1-9 Finish w. ENTER Use the arrow keys to change the sound level. Finish with ENTER and the display will show: 18

19 Menu 5: Cashier mode Cashier mode New value? It is possible to choose three different kinds of cashier handling. 0 = No No cashier mode 1 Cashier numbers from 1 to 50 2 Cashier numbers from 1 to Cashier numbers from 1 to 999 and Station number from 1 to 999. Station number can be used as an identification number for for example boxes, bus routes, bus driver and so on. The station numbers will be printed on the receipt but will not be transferred to the memory like the cashier number (See User s Manual). Menu 6: Display: LCD display: 1 Press 1 = Yes to select the LCD display or 0 = No to choose the VFD display. Finish by pressing ENTER (LCD display is standard on 301 +, 305 S+ and 309 S+). If 0 = VFD is pressed the display will show: Brigtness Finish w. ENTER 1 Use the arrow keys to adjust the brightness of the display and press ENTER. If 1 is selected in LCD display the display will show: Contrast Finish w. ENTER 5 Use the arrow keys to adjust the contrast of the display and press ENTER 19

20 Menu 7: Two currencies: Two currencies : 0 If you want to count two denominations you have to choose 1 = Yes. Currency0: You can use the ASCII codes to programme the currency letters in the display. Press for example 69 in the set-up menu followed by ENTER. For the first letter E, press 85 for second letter U and so on. ASCII codes can be found on the last page of this setup manual. When you have typed the letters for currency 0 the display will show currency1. Here you do the same as for currency0 Currency1: Press ENTER and the display will show: Menu 8: Chose legal coins: Chose legal coins Select 1 or 0 and press ENTER. To see how this function works please refer to the User s manual. 20

21 Menu 9: Separate coins: Separate coins: 0 1 = Yes, 0 = No Choose 1 or 0 and finish by pressing ENTER. To see how this function works please refer to the User s manual. Menu 10: Tubing: Tubing 0 1 = Yes, 0 = No Choose 1 or 0 and finish by pressing ENTER. To see how this menu works please refer to the User s manual. Menu 11: Self service: Self service 0 Select 1 or 0 and finish with ENTER. If 1 = Yes is chosen, the Pelican will make an automatic M+ when P = Print is pressed. Menu 12: Fee: Fee: 0 Select 1 or 0 and finish with ENTER. If 1 = Yes is chosen the operator will be able to use the fee system where the Pelican automatically calculates a fee as a percentage of the counting or as a fixed fee (please refer to the User s Manual). 21

22 Menu 13: M+ automatic: M+ Automatic: 0 M+ automatic is only for Pelicans mounted with reject plate (option). 1 = Yes means that when M+ is pressed after the counting, the reject plate will open and close again automatically. 0 = No means that it is necessary to use the lock key function to open and close the reject plate. Select 1 = Yes or 0 = No followed by ENTER. Menu 14 Transaction s/n: Transact. s/n.: Finish w. ENTER It is possible to change from where the consecutive number shall start. This is a number between 1 to 50, ,000 is standard from the factory. Transaction numbers run up to 60,000 and start again from the chosen number. Transaction numbers are also used to reprint earlier transactions (please refer to the User s Manual Transactions ). Please note that Memory has to be cleared before menu 14 can appear. Press ENTER and the display will show: Menu 15: Aut. Calib System: Aut. Calib. System. : 1 We recommend that you always choose 1 for yes. The ACS means that a machine's calibrated reference values automatically will be re-adjusted if/when the average reference values of a coin denomination change. 22

23 There are several reason for changes in the reference values, for example big temperature changes in the machine's surroundings, small differences in the alloy of new and old coins, change in the composition of old and new coins in the coin mix etc. Example: A machine has been calibrated from the factory, delivered to the customer and installed and tested. If the machine then after a period of time starts rejecting good coins it normally had to be re-calibrated. By the use of the new ACS programme the machine will automatically adjust the reference values after the counting of a given number of coins. Important! It is very important when using ACS system, that the coin rail is kept clean or else the system will start make corrections according to the dirt on the rail. Menu 16: Outsort 500 Lire: Outsort 500 Lire : 1 This has to be selected if the costumer wants to out-sort the old 500 Italian Lire coins from the 2 Euro coins. The 500 Italian Lire coin has to be calibrated as coin number 16 to have this working correct. This feature will only be shown in machines with sensor mounted. 23

24 Set-up 3 Coin value and bag number For machines equipped with sensor it is possible to use For machines equipped with sensor it is possible to use 1-16 In this programme the coin values for coin 1-20 are encoded, and the number for the bag/drawer these coin values are to be sorted in is chosen, for the different models as follows: S S+ 0-9 The display shows: Menu 1: Coin no. and value Coin 1-20? Choose for example coin 1 by the use of the keypad and press ENTER. Menu 2: Coin 1 Bag 1 0,00 New bag 0-9? Press ENTER or choose a new bag number and press ENTER. Menu 3: Coin 1 Bag 1 0,00 New value? Enter the value for coin no. 1 for examble 0,02 by pressing.02 and ENTER (for the value 10,00 press only 10 followed by ENTER ). 24

25 If two currencies are chosen in Set-up 2 the display will show menu 4: Menu 4: Chose currency : 0 0 = XXX 1 = XXX You have to choose what kind of currency you want, for the denomination you are calibrating. Coin weight If coin weight are chosen in Set-up 1 the display will show menu 5. If not the display will show menu 6. Menu 5: Coin weight: 0 New weight: Enter the weight of 100 coins in grammes for coin 1. Example 341 = 341 grammes followed by ENTER and menu 5 will appear. Menu 6: Coin 1 Bag 1 0,02 Coin 1-20? Select the next coin number and repeat. To go back to the main programme press PROG. 25

26 Set-up 4 Description of the sensor/coin recognition system for CTcoin coin counters The system contains a sensor with an integrated transmitter and receiver. Between these two components an electromagnetic field is created. When the coins run through the sensor this field is modified. The machine s CPU converts this information into an average parameter for each denomination, measured by the alloy, diameter and thickness. By a self-learning process the different values are encoded, which will enable the machine to either recognise or reject the coins. This is done by letting approximately 50 to 100 coins pass the sensor. These coins must be a mix of old and new coins and are typically in the ratio of 80 per cent old/used coins and 20 per cent new coins. The machine can at any time be re-calibrated to count an extra coin or to change all the coin values. In Set-up 4 the number for the coin to be calibrated is encoded. This number is equivalent to the coin number and coin value that is programmed in Set-up 3. Calibration of coins The display shows: Menu 1: Calibration Coin 1-20? Choose coin number for example coin 1 by pressing 1 followed by ENTER. If the display shows No value / Press ENTER it is because no value is programmed in Set-up 3 for coin 1 and it is therefor not possible to calibrate coin 1. Menu 2: Cal. coin 1 0 Finish w. ENTER 26

27 Fill the hopper with coin no. 1 and press START. Menu 3: (Example) Cal. coin 1 87 Finish with ENTER Press ENTER and coin 1 is now calibrated. The number in the right corner is the number of coins having passed the sensor, in this example 87. Menu 4: Coin 1 Calibrate Coin 1-20? Select the next coin number to be calibrated and follow the same procedure. Illegal coins If the coins used for calibration have been mixed with foreign coins and tokens or if the coins vary substantially in metal content, diameter or magnetism, the display will show: Menu 5: Illegal coin Press ENTER Press ENTER and the display will show: Menu 6: Accept? 1 = Yes 0 = No Press always 0 = No followed by ENTER. The first time the coins must be checked for foreign coins and a new calibration must be performed. 27

28 Menu 7: Coin 1 Coin 1-20? Not calibr. Press 1 and ENTER again and the display shows: Menu 8: Cal. coin 1 0 Finish w. ENTER Calibrate the coin again. Finish by pressing ENTER. If the display continues to show Illegal coin and it has already been checked that there were only valid coins among the coins counted press 1 = Yes followed by ENTER. The coins will be approved despite the variation of the coins. Menu 9: Coin 1 Coin 1-20? Calibrate Select the next coin value for calibration and follow the same procedure. NB! In some countries the coins of one coin denomination appear to be similar but are produced by different materials, which give calibration values that lie far from each other. In this case the coins can be calibrated as two different coins, for example coin 3 and 4 but sorted into the same drawer. This is also programmed in Set-up 3 with coin 3 bag 3 and coin 4 bag 3. Equal coins If a coin value has been calibrated and the display shows: Menu 10: Equal coins 3 4 It means that a coin value has been calibrated twice by mistake. Another reason can be that a different coin value has been between the coins used for calibration. If a printer is connected you can have a printout of the frequencies for both coins by pressing PRINT. Press ENTER and the display will show: 28

29 Menu 11: Coin 4 Not calibr. Coin 1-20? It will always be the latest calibrated coin that is not registered. Select coin number and perform the calibration. Re-set of calibrated coin To re-set a calibrated coin value (for example if a coin is taken out of circulation) the same procedure is followed as when calibrating. The only difference is that coins are not to pass the sensor. Calibrated coin 5 Finish w. ENTER Press ENTER and the calibration for coin 5 is re-set. Return to Set-up 3, select coin 5 and change the value back to 0. NB! A coin value cannot be re-set the opposite way for example in Set-up 3 change value to 0 and then re-set calibration. 29

30 Set-up 5 Menu 1: External display: Ext. display 0 1 = Yes 0 = No Select 1 = Yes or 0 = No and press ENTER. If 1 = Yes is chosen menu 2 appears in the display: Menu 2: Ext. displ. port: 0 Port1 = 1, port0 = 0 Select port and press ENTER (port 0 is standard). NB! The Pelican main board has two RS232 printer ports. Choose the port for the external display, the printer or the host communication. The host communication must always be connected to port 1 (please refer to the technical descriptions). The display shows: Menu 3: Printer: Printer 1 1 = Yes 0 = No Select printer 1 = Yes or 0 = No, followed by ENTER. Choose 1 = Yes and menu 4 will appear in the display: Menu 4: Printer port: 0 Port1 = 1, port0 = 0 Select port and press ENTER (port 0 is standard). 30

31 Menu 5: Print coins: Print coins: 1 1 = Yes 0 = No If 1 = Yes is chosen receipts will be printed showing both the main counting and counting for each coin denomination (this is standard). If 0 is chosen the receipt for each counting will only show the main counting and not the counting for each denomination. Select Yes or No and press ENTER. Menu 6: Paper length: Paper length: 0 New value? Paper length is an electronic paper counter (in meters) for the printer. If the length is 0 (standard) no paper error will appear when the printer is out of paper. If for example 36 = 36 meter is chosen, the Pelican will stop and show: Out of paper in the display when the 36 meter is reached and the present printout is finished. Press ENTER or choose paper length and finish with ENTER. Menu 7: Lines per meter: Lines / meter 235 New value? Printers have different line distances depending of the model. Count the lines per meter and enter the result followed by ENTER (235 is standard) or press just ENTER and the display will show: Menu 8: Prt. Citizen IDP 562: 0 Select 0 = No or 1 = Yes followed by ENTER ( 0 = No is standard). If the Citizen IDP 562 printer is to be used, select 1 = Yes. 31

32 Menu 9: Prt. Able Ap860-B : 0 Select 0 = No or 1 = Yes followed by ENTER ( 0 = No is standard). If the Able Ap860-B printer is to be used, select 1 = Yes. Menu 10: APS-Printer : 1 APS is the type of printer that CTcoin install if the machine is bought with an internal printer. Menu 11: Printer 2 : 0 Select 1 = Yes or 0 = No followed by ENTER ( 0 is standard). If 1 = Yes is selected the menus 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 will be repeated followed by Menu 10: Host Com. If 0 = No is selected the Menu 10 = Host Com will be shown immediately. If both printer in menu 3 and printer 2 in menu 9 are set to 1 = Yes there will be printed on both printers (one after the other) when a normal receipt has been chosen. Print of grand totals, Memory dumps and other technical printouts will only be printed from printer 1. Menu 12: Host communication: Host Com : 0 Select 1 = Yes or 0 = No. If 1 = Yes is selected the cable for the Host communication must be connected to Port 1 on the main board. Menu 13: ACK/NACK : 1 32

33 Press ENTER and the display will show: Menu 14: HOST-aut -MPLUS 0 0 = No is standard. 1 = Yes. When there is an enquiry about the relevant counting result, and the coin wheel has stopped, the keykode will be send to the main programme. This means that the counting result automatically will be transferred to the total. Menu 15: S_out_ctr: 0 0 = No is standard. 1 = Yes. If 1! = Yes is selected, all the out sorted coins will be transmitted together with the current counting result. Menu 16: HOST_WDT: 0 0 = No is standard. 1 = Yes. Watch dog timer. If there is not a enquiry from the PC in 30 seconds, will the machine go into error state until there is a command received from the HOST. Menu 17: Slave 0 0 = No is standard. 1 = Yes. The machine is in error state, until there is a link between the HOST and Machine. 33

34 Menu 18: Data 20 coins: 0 0 = No is standard. 1 = Yes. Only in special software for Euro coins if the costumer want to out sort counterfeit coins. If this is set to 1 = yes, the machine will send a 0 for the coins 17 to 20. So the exciting software has no problem because of the turnover from 20 to 16 coins. Menu 19: HOST-timeout 50 NEW WALUE? If there is a mistake under the receipt of a data pack. The received part of the data pack after the given time will be deleted. Without any other things happened. 1 corresponding to 25 micro second. 35 Set-up 6 Text on remote display To use this function the ext. display must have been chosen in Set-up 5. By the use of ASCII codes texts can be programmed. These texts will be shown in the upper line in the display. The lower line will show the counted amount. The figure 0 in the display will be ignored and is used to delete encoded figures and numbers. It is possible to make up to 250 key entries with as many ASCII COD10 = (Line shift) as needed because there are no limitation on the number of lines. All the text in the upper line will be shown in the display for two seconds. Menu 1: L 1 P 1 0 On the lower line 20 small black squares will be shown. The first square flashes (L1 P1 on the upper line means line 1, place 1). Press CLR and the display will show: Menu 2: L 1 P 1 0? The left square flashes and the ASCII code can be typed. The ASCII code for A is for example 65. Menu 3: L 1 P 1 0? 65 35

CLR, 0 ENTER To get back to the counting function press PROG twice. Set-up 8 Printer footer Text printed at the bottom of the receipt (print footer). By the use of ASCII codes it is possible to write texts that will be printed on the receipt. The limit of letters, numbers and signs is 250 entries. The way to write texts (ASCII codes) is made as under Set-up 6 starting from menu 1. ASCii codes can be found on the last page in this set-up manual. All this can also be done by a laptop. 39 Set-up 9 Programming for lock systems and codes If the Pelican is equipped with one or more of the three features: Lock for drawers, reject plate or stand with lock, lock codes can be entered. In this set-up lock codes can be typed from 0 to If 0 is chosen no code is required. Lock code / Drawer 0 New code? Press ENTER and the picture will remain as it is or choose a code for example 2816 followed by ENTER. Menu 1: Lock code / Drawer 2816 New code? Follow the same procedure for menu 2 and menu 3. Menu 2: Lock code / Reject 518 New code? 39

40 Set-up 10 Note values With the note value function it is possible to code up to 8 different values. This function can be used to enter notes together with the counted coins and get countings for both notes and coins printed and transferred to Memory. Menu 1: Note values: Note 1-8? Select the note numbers for example note 1 by pressing 1 followed by ENTER. Menu 2: Note New value? Select for example by pressing 100 followed by ENTER. If two currencies are chosen in set-up 2 the display will show: or menu 4 will appear Menu 3: Chose currency : 0 0 = XXX 1 = XXX You have to choose what kind of currency you want, for the specified note. Menu 4: Note Note 1-8? Select the next note and repeat. If the value for all notes is 0.00, this function will not be shown on the display when pressing. in the counting menu. If only one note is given a value, the number and value of the note will be shown in the display when pressing. in the counting menu after the counting or rejection of a minimum of one coin. To see how this menu works please refer to the User s Manual. 40

41 Set-up 11 Middle drawer stop Can only be used on the models 309 SLR on stand or 309 SLRC if 1 = Yes for the use of bag stop is encoded. This means that if Memory function 2, 3 or 4 are selected in the Set-up 1 and 1 = Yes is selected in menu 1A = Middle drawers, the stop number for each of the middle drawers can be encoded. Set middle-drawstop Select bag Use the arrow keys or press for example 1 followed by ENTER to select the drawer/bag number. Example: Bag 1 = 0,25 0 Set stop When the number of coins that can be contained in a middle drawer (= drawer with hole in the bottom) is determined, this number is pressed for example 250 followed by ENTER. Example: Bag 1 = 0, Select bag Select the next drawer / bag = 2, 3, 4 etc. To use the middle drawer stop there also has to be encoded stop numbers for the bag/drawer corresponding to the same coin denomination in Set-up 2. This Set-up 11 function can not be used if Quick bag change or Delay bag stop have been chosen in Set-up 1. 41

42 3. HELP FUNCTIONS The 7 functions from 24 to 30 are help functions. To get access to the help functions, the display must show: Set-up Select 0-10 Use the keyboard to choose functions for example 24 followed by ENTER. Help function 24: S/N xxxxxxx S/N is a serial number. A number of up to 8 digits can be typed followed by ENTER. This number cannot be changed or deleted. To get back to the main menu press PROG. Help function 25: Total good coins: xxxx This shows the total of approved coins the machine has counted in the PCB s lifetime. This number cannot be deleted. Help function 26: In help function 26 the calibrated values can be changed manually for each coin. The coins are registered through 5 frequency areas A, B, C, D and E. These frequency areas can be regarded as windows. The frequency interval for acceptance of a coin is defined as the difference between the minimum and the maximum values. This is shown in the display as MIN and MAX e.g. A Acceptance of a coin requires that it pass through all 5 windows. In combination with help function 29, help function 26 is a good tool for fine adjustment of coin denominations that are difficult to distinguish for example with regards to metal content or diameter. 42

43 Press 26 followed by ENTER. Menu 1: Coin: Choose a coin number that is to be changed for example coin 1. Press 1 followed by ENTER. Menu 2:(Example) Coin: 1 A B C If you need to see the rest of the coins press right arrow to do so. Press Print if you need to have the numbers on a print. If there aren t any calibrated coins to coin value 1, the display will show: No value. The figure for A. Min., in this example 106, will twinkle and can now be changed. Press ENTER. Menu 3: Coin: 1 A -112 B C The black square will twinkle. If ENTER is pressed again Menu 2 is shown in the display. To type a new frequency, for example 108, press 108 followed by ENTER. The black square will move one step to the left for every figure. Menu 4: Coin: 1 A B C

44 Press ENTER. Menu 5: Coin: 1 A B C The figure 108 will twinkle now and by the use of the right arrow key the cursor can be moved to the figures for A. MAX B. MIN B. MAX etc. (The left arrow key moves the square to the left). When C. MIN is reached, the A frequencies will disappear and the B frequencies move up. If the right arrow key is pressed until E. MIN, the display will appear as in the following example: Menu 6: Coin: 1 C D E Each time the cursor is moved to a new figure, it twinkles and the figure can be changed in the same way as explained above. By the use of M+ or MR it is possible to go up and down in the coin numbers when menu 2 is shown. Help function 27 If the machine is connected to a printer and 27 followed by ENTER are entered a Memory Dump will be printed. All the encoded values, the coin numbers, the frequencies etc. will be listed on this Memory Dump. Help function 28 Press 28 followed by ENTER and the display will show the sensor values (in the following examples indicated by xxx). The sensor values cannot be adjusted because this is done automatically. The display shows: Sensor A xxx B xxx C xxx D xxx E xxx 44

45 Help function 29 Press 29 followed by ENTER. Coin A xxx B xxx C xxx D xxx E xxx To see the rest of the numbers press the right arrow key. The frequencies for the last rejected coin will be indicated. This means that after counting coins have been rejected. The help function 29 can be used to see the frequencies for the last rejected coin. To see the frequencies for either rejected or approved coins simply let the coins pass through the sensor. When the display shows the above 29 picture and a printer is connected, it is possible to have a printout by pressing PRINT. Help function 30 Press 30 followed by ENTER. (Example) Hours on This shows the total time that the machine has been connected, in this example 31 hours and 1078 seconds. This counter cannot be deleted. 45

46 4. SET-UP CLEAR 1 and Set-up clear 1 If a set-up clear is chosen all that is programmed in the menu Select 0-10 will be reset to the same default values as when the main board was new. Set-up Select 0-10 Press followed by ENTER. Clear set-up? 0 1 = Yes 0 = No If 1 is pressed followed by ENTER the Set-up will be cleared and go back to standard default values. If only ENTER is selected no clearing will be made. 3.2 Set-up clear 2 Follow the same procedure as Set-up clear 1 by using followed by ENTER and the display will show: Clear set-up total 0 1 = Yes 0 = No If 1 = Yes is pressed followed by ENTER the Set-up will be cleared totally including the 5264 menu and the software will be back to standard default values. If only ENTER is selected no clearing will be made. 46
