The most awaited Summer vacations are here. These days are precious and invaluable standing out as the most memorable days of childhood. It s time to nurture young minds, inculcate moral values and narrate family anecdotes to keep them in touch with their roots. Here is the glimpse of some recent achievements of our school. Under 14 girls Handball team won the Gold Medal at School District Handball Championship - 30 th July To 1 st August 2015 Garima of Class XII and Sangam of XI won 1 st Prize at District Archery Tournament and got selected for the State Level - 1 st August, 2015 DAVians bagged the 1 st Prize for Sufi Qwwali at Interschool Competition organized by DAV, Shreshtha Vihar, New Delhi - 6 th and 7 th August, 2015

2 DAVians brought laurels by winning many Medals at Maharaja Aggarsen Public School, Ghaziabad for Taekwondo Championship 26 th August, Gold Medals, 19 Silver Medal, 13 Bronze Medals. Mohit Bermota of class XII brought laurel by winning the 1 st Prize at National Painting Competition organized by District child welfare council, Faridabad - 27 th August, 2015 Anshika of class XII and Twinkle of class XI won the Bronze Medal in SGFI and won a cash Prize worth Rs 500/- each (Held at Panchkula) 19 th To 22 nd October, 2015 Pushpam, Shubham of class VII and Debyan of class IX received the Certificate of Merit for participating in a Painting Competition organized by Ministry of Water Resource River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, Govt. of India - 30 th October, 2015 Under 19 Girls Handball team won the Silver Medal in Handball Championship held at sports complex, Faridabad whereas Under 19 boy Handball team stood 2 nd at the Open Handball Championship - 31 st and 1 st November, 2015 DAVians brought laurels by standing 1 st at District Level and National Level at Ram charit Manas and Geeta shlok Gaayan Pratiyogita held at DAV, sector-14, Faridabad - 15 th November, 2015 We look forward to see their wonderful work on following dates: Subject Dates Subject Dates English EVS Hindi Mathematics SUMMER CAMP ( ) Children are reservoirs of energy and talent. 5 Things required: Paper plate construction paper ( coloured paper ), old cards. Ribbon, match sticks etc Method 1. Start by choosing your favourite animal. 2. Use paper plate or coloured paper for the basic shape. 3. Add pieces of paper to make nose, mouth etc. 4. Decorate the mask using paint, feathers, strings, fabric or wool. 5. Make holes in place of eyes to see through. 6. Attach strings on both sides to give it in a final finish Yipee! Your mask is ready MAGIC PENCILS Pencils are an intregal part of every child s bag. Different colours,designs,shapes make them interesting. What better then to have pencils with a favourite fruit topper. Thinge required 4 pencils, paint,coloured paper,glue, tape etc. Steps 1. Cut out 2 shapes of each fruit like apple, mango, pear, pineapple, orange etc from coloured paper. eg Red paper to be used for apple, Yellow for pineapple and mango etc. size of the cut out around 2 by Add leaves to the fruit 3. Paste 2 fruits of the same kind back to back and insert one end of the pencil between the two pieces of paper. Secure well with the glue or tape. 4. Glue together the pencil and pieces of paper cut outs for other pencils as well.
