A time to reconnect with our kids, friends and family. Take your child for an outdoor visit, discuss nature. Have at least one meal together. Visit your relatives, elders; ensure they spend quality time with their grandparents. Read Newspaper with them and encourage them to find 5 new words and their meaning from it. Try to use these 5 words in your daily routine. Knowledge about plants and trees are an integral part of child s growth. Encourage your child to plant a sapling. Share stories about your childhood and your family history with your child. Dear Students, Summer vacation is one of those things you have as a kid that you don t truly appreciate until you lose. It as an adult, like a fast metabolism, or hair. However, during the long scorching summer, spend time in a meaningful and interesting way so that you will be in touch with the school work and at the same time have lots of fun and frolic. We are sure this holiday homework will enhance your creativity and knowledge and you will enjoy while completing it. Be original, innovative & creative and start working from day 1. Do not leave your home work for last minute it will hamper your creativity. Note: Revise and learn all work done in class and prepare for Assessment 1 in July. Read chapter thoroughly and practice 1 page of writing daily in separate thin copy from newspaper (ENGLISH & HINDI) Maths: Practice all work in rough copy. Work to be done in activity copy where A4/A3 and other specifications are not mentioned. Submit your work in handmade folder. Last date for submission of Holiday Homework is 6 th July Holiday Homework will be considered as Subject Enrichment activity and marks will be assigned accordingly. 2 GRADE 2 ENGLISH (a) With the help of your parents, create your own story book with illustrations. Material Required Handmade paper /papers from Old note books A pair of scissors, Fevicol, Scale, Pencil and eraser, Coloured pens, Crayons, Pencilcolours. Step 1: Cut the paper into rectangle shape, measuring 25 inches by 8 inches. Step 2: Fold the paper into five folds, each 5 inches wide. Step 3 : Leave the first fold as the cover page of the book. Write your story with illustrations on the other folds. Step 4: Design the cover and write the name of the story. (b) Read any two stories. Write five sentences about the story in your own words and draw your favourite character on A3 size sheet. Imagine yourself doing a sea walk and describe the underwater scene in your own words (in about 8 to 10 sentences) on the other A4 sheet. You can write about Different types of fishes you saw Cartoon characters like Nemo, Arial etc. Wastage of some ship that sunk some years back Some kind of treasure you found. If you met someone else Some underwater animals/ plants you explored MATHS 1. Write the age of your family and arrange them in ascending and descending order on the colored A-4 size sheet. 2. Make a model of clock using waste material like cardboard, ice-cream sticks, match sticks etc. 3. Patterns are around us in nature clothes and even on things.

3 4. Make a beautiful bandhan bar using patterns. EVS 1. Mention five ways each in which you plan to clean your surroundings and save water during the holidays. Click pictures and paste them in your scrap file. 2. Collect pictures of any ten machines that your family use in day to day life to make the household work easier and simpler (On A4 size sheet) write their names also. 3. Look around in your colony. Write names and paste pictures of 5 animals you see there. Write 5 lines on the animal you like the most (On A4 size sheet).
