1 AIR FORCE SCHOOL PANCHWATI HOLIDAY HOMEWORK SESSION CLASS -1 Hello kids, It s time for mangoes, watermelons, ice creams, lemonades and lots and lots of fun!summer vacations is a welcome break from fixed schedules, rules and regulationsvisiting Nani house, Dadi house, picnics, exploring new places and watching yourfavourite shows on television. But there is a lot more you can do to make your holidays more interesting and meaningful along with doing your masti. Your teachers have planned some interesting activities for you. So, don t sleep till late in the morning. Try getting up early and go for a morning walkwith your parents, breathe fresh air and avoid playing out in sun. Make a decorative paper bag/folder to keep all your holiday homework. Father s Day is on the third Sunday of June. So pamper your dad. Make him feel special in every small way. Surprise him by giving him a card. Research Work Theme- INDIA RISING Find out the number of states in India and try to learn their names. Find out the number of languages spoken in India. List out the names of cities that you have visited in India. Play the game ATLAS with your family and friends restricting it to statesand cities of India Make a scrapbook. Paste pictures of eminent Indians who have excelled indifferent fields in the recent past.

2 English Read and enjoy following stories: Jack and the bean stalk The Elves and the shoe maker Make a Vocabulary Hanging from the stories you have read. Your hanging should have at least 10 words from the story books with their opposite and a rhyming word. Use your own imagination and creativity to design your vocabulary hanging. It should be colourful and impressive. Practice cursive handwriting every day. Revise all the work done till date in MCB,Workbook, grammar book and notebook. Maths Revise number names 1-50 in a fun manner. Do it on a A-4 sheet. You can take the details of your family members, relatives or friends to make this table. Use any bottle to make a pot, plant seed and give water daily to see the growing up of plant from seed and bring it to school.

They provide irrigation water, drinking water, electricity and easy transportation. The rivers of India are holy. On a scrap book do the following activities: a. Write down the name of 5 important river of India. write down their length in kilometers. b. Write down the number names of the length of the rivers. c. Paste the picture of the river in ascending order of their lengths. d. Write down the expanded form of the length of the rivers in words and figure. e. Arrange the lengths of the rivers in the place value table. f. Draw a creative abacus of the numbers. Note : the scrap book should be decorated. The home work should be creatively done. Project work: A3 sheet There is no doubt Indian Mathematicians have greatly contributed to the world. Make a creative collage on any 5 Indian Mathematician. Try to find out the contributions made by them.

Paste the pictures of any 5 social workers and write about them and their work. c. Prepare beautiful cut outs of two helpers and write how do they help us. d. Visit two historical places of Delhi and write 5 sentences about the places and paste picture also. English a. Do cursive writing one page every day to improve handwriting in cursive book. b. Read newspaper every day and write 5 new words with their meaning on coloured A4 size sheet. (at least 20 pages) c. Read different stories from Panchtantra and write the summary of any two stories with the help of pictures and pick out 5 collective noun, proper noun, adjectives, and verbs. Rearrange the numbers in smallest and greatest 10-digits number. Paste pictures of any three Mathematicians and write their contributions on A4 size pastel sheet.
