1 Celebrating Black History Guest Speakers/Performers/Highlights for the week: Enjoy the display in the Atrium & Bulletin Board showcasing boards on The Reconstruction Period, The Black Church, Underground Railroad, Black Wall Street, The Great Migration, Who am I -Past and Current figures in Black History, Flags of Africa countries and other interesting facts To kick-off Black History Month, we will have a performance in the atrium, Monday, February 5th at 7:30am by eight members of the Kelly Family; Linda 24, Joseph 22, La Shone 19, Laura 17, Jeffrey 15, Leah 14, Lena 12 and Jachin 11. Please enjoy a medley of 5 different genres performed by this talented family. Chicago family of 17 uses music to better their lives-violin, guitar, piano, cello, harp; the Kelly family can play them all This week grades K-3 will be viewing a cartoon called Bino and Fino which is an educational cartoon show from Nigeria that teaches children around the world about Africa, Diversity and the African Diaspora. Our students will be learning a little history on African culture and about the Wall of Benin located in Edo, Nigeria.

Sibit Be UnStoppable "Life takes on meaning when you become motivated, set goals and charge after them in an unstoppable manner." ~Les Brown From Meter Reader to Mogul-in-the-making, Dennis C. Sibit is the quintessential definition of motivated. When setting goals, he raises the bar high. Whether it be a professional goal or beating a personal best, Dennis goes after each goal as if his life depends on it. In 2013 Dennis founded Unstoppable Transportation. In 2014, he combined his love of fitness and motivational skills to create Be Unstoppable, INC. In 2017, with hard work and determination Dennis opened his own training facility. This company allows him to work one-on-one motivating people to lead a healthier life. Motivating future generations is an important part of Dennis' life. As a graduate of Lindblom High School, Dennis has participated in their career day for the past five years. He also spends time at other schools and organizations sharing his story to motivate others to be better and to do better.

Kellye Davis is a woman who believes everyone is a product of the decisions they decide or decide not to make. Kellye also believes the only way to have real transformation is to walk in Truth. Kellye is a woman of faith, believes in having Fun and forever a Student of life. I am a Super Mom of three Amazing children. I enjoy Girl talk with my 19yr old. Playing basketball with my 13 year old and reading with my 4year old. I sing, I can rap, I love to dance, and guess what, I can ride a Motorcycle. I believe it s our youth that keeps us young! Our youth that keeps us Vibrant! Our youth that keeps us learning! Our youth that allow us to be Powerful! Kelly Davis has her own Travel Agency and enjoys learning about different cultures and seeing the world.

4 1 st Speaker on Friday, 10am Andre Corbin André grew up in Chicago and attended Newberry Math and Science Academy and Lincoln Park High School. He graduated from University of Illinois with a Master s in Human Resources and Industrial Labor Relations. After college Andre taught English and General Education classes for 12 years and has recently started into product photography and online sales. Throughout his life he has followed technology, the S.T.E.M. fields and integrated them into his academic curriculum. I m going to cover Robotic, Medical, Automotive, and Consumer Technology. I will be discussing YouTube channels, Podcasts, city events, and other resources to find out more about these fields. I am going to assemble a packet for students and parents to utilize.

Shabazz uses data, multi-media and interactive marketing to drive awareness of the people and places doing the work in Black communities; she promotes accountability through education and intentional strategic action plans that are executed by members of BRIJ. Shabazz is increasingly becoming known for her work compiling data & research that help to identify the impact of our current movement economically, socially and politically; she is also unique in that she teaches economics from a wholistic perspective that expands beyond the idea of consumerism and money to include our most important asset, time. Her events and workshops around the basic practices and principles of cooperative economics are in high demand around Chicago but are gaining notoriety in other parts of the country as well. She is a published Author, birthing her annual movement trade publication The Neo-Green Book Vol. I & Vol. II; Creator and Director of the now expired Give Black Web-Series, and Executive Producer of Chi-Voices: A Poetic Film Series, a project partially funded through a grant from the Illinois Humanities Arts Council. Shabazz has been featured in The Chicago Defender, The Final Call, Chicago Tribune, WVON, UBM and Vocalo/WBEZ. She has received countless community awards and was named as part of the 40 Under 40 Young Women Professional League, in which she now serves as VP of Development.
