We seek facts, and we seek explanations of facts, and the facts we are most interested in are those where we are being systematically lied to by establishments, powerful establishments which are very successfully in control of the media in the United States. We are told, for example, in 1965, by President Lyndon Johnson, that the communists or the reds are going to take over a friendly regime headed by a man named Ky or Thieu or somebody in South Vietnam, with whom we have an alliance. We are told that we must prevent this or the solemn commitments of the United States will not be believed. So we spend $150 billion and the lives of 55,000 Americans, and we kill over one million Asians. Among other things, we organize an operation called Phoenix (headed by a man named William Colby of the CIA) which assassinates over 40,000 South Vietnamese who are supposedly members of the "infrastructure" op- Editor: Edmund C. Thieu, the current dictator, departs for Taiwan with more than $75 million in gold belonging to the country which he lately headed. Then, the whole subject so terribly important for 10 years drops completely out of - sight from the media in the United States. No more talk about Vietnam at all. It becomes a "nonsubject." Amazing, isn't it? I inquire of a dozen U.S. congressmen, "What are the lessons of Vietnam?" Three out of the 12 reply to me, saying largely nonsense. Nine do not reply. How am I to explain these events, this orchestration of deception? Shall I believe it just happens, like a roll of the dice? 'Shall I try to explain it? Shall I try to make a theory which does explain it? The second article, "Covering up the Cover-Ups: The Strategy of the Nixon Pardon", was published in the August 1976 issue of "People and the Pursuit of Truth". The article we publish in this issue is remarkable for several reasons. One of the reasons is that it strains befief. Is it really possible to murder with the skill reported here? Is it really possible to plan and organize murder as skillfully as indicated here? Even if that is really possible, is it reasonable to believe this account? Enough has been published and stated in the regular media about the Watergate crime, Richard M. Nixon, and the actual operations of the Central Intelligence Agency and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, t) justify the general proposition: A secret organization in an industrially advanced country without morals and with a sacred and money-producing cause (such as the preservation of capitalism) will do anything whatever, and apply the principle that the ends justify the means. Among the things it will do are investigate most thoroughly the technology of murder, and he technology of cover-up; and apply the techniques. The Technology of Murder One of the two fiendish strategems used by the Power Control Group to cover up the truth and to fool the people has been the use of various intelligence techniques and weapons. The outward appearance of the use of such techniques in assassination and murder is to completely cover up the real killer's presence or the real cause of death. The public is led to believe, from the moment the crime occurs, that there is either one lone madman assassin, or else that the death was an accident or due to natural causes or committed by natural enemies of the victim. Some of the techniques are so unique that they are nearly impossible for the average American to believe. Sophistication The intelligence forces of the U.S., as well as of other countries, have out-bonded James Bond. The development of sophisticated methods of murder and control of humans for warfare and spying on other countries, has come home to the U.S. with great effectiveness from the P.C.G.'s viewpoint. Attempts have been made by researchers and movie makers to enlighten the citizenry, but to no avail. Penn Jones Jr. published a list of "mysterious deaths" in his series of four volumes, "Forgive My Grief." They are not widely read and many who see them scoff at Penn. Sylvia Meagher published facts about the first eighteen witnesses murdered using these techniques in her book "Accessories After the Fact" /2/. Very few people other than researchers pay any attention. Two movies with somewhat wider circulation, "Executive Action" and "The Parallax View", cover the techniques fairly well, but are considered to be fiction by most viewers. So the P.C.G. goes on murdering where and when it is necessary, and covering up the murders where necessary. In 1974 and 1976, at least two murders became necessary. Rolando Masferrer Rolando Masferrer, who was mentioned as a J.F.K. conspirator, became dangerous to the P.C.G., and was eliminated in early 1976 with a non-sophisticated weapon. A bomb was planted in his car in Miami. The cover up in this case merely involves planting an informer who claims Masferrer was killed by a rival anti-castro Cuban faction in Florida /3/. Clay Shaw Clay Shaw became quite nervous in 1974 after Victor Marchetti's statements to the press earlier that year made it known that Shaw was a CIA contract employee and that the CIA gave him assistance and protection before his trial in New Orleans and after Jim Garrison arrested him. Shaw was murdered in New Orleans by the P.C.G. and the murder covered up by simply controlling his embalming and burial and blocking any local investigation /4/. The reason for his murder, as in David Ferrie's murder, was to keep him from talking. Weapons Developed by the CIA The techniques and weapons fall into several classes. First, there are sophisticated weapons developed by the CIA. An example of this is the umbrella poison dart gun used in Dealey Plaza to shoot J.F.K. in the throat. Such a weapon was postulated by Robert Cutler and the author in mid-1975 as the one that fired the first shot from near the Stemmons Freeway sign /5/. 3 observers and so wild an idea that the author and Cutler did not ever discuss it with many researchers. Testimony of a Weapon Developer: Charles Senseney Then Mr. Charles Senseney, a weapon developer at Fort Detrick, MD for the CIA, testified before the Senate Intelligence Committee in September 1975 and described an umbrella poison dart gun he had made/6/. He said it was always used in crowds with the umbrella open, firing through the webbing so it would not attract attention. Since it was silent, no one in the crowd could hear it and the assassin merely would fold up the umbrella and saunter away with the crowd. That is almost exactly what happened in Dealey Plaza, so that suddenly the weapon became believable. President Kennedy's reaction to the first shot had always seemed to be like a paralytic effect, with his fists clenching and his head, shoulders, and arms seeming to stiffen. There was a small entrance wound in his neck but no evidence of a bullet path through his neck and no bullet ever recovered of that small size. Exotic Weaponry Senseney testified that his special Operations Division at Fort Detrick had received assignments from the CIA to develop exotic weaponry. One of the weapons was a hand held dart gun that could shoot a poison dart into a guard dog to put it out of action for several hours. The dart and the poison left no trace so that examination would not reveal that the dogs had been put out of action. The CIA ordered about 50 of these weapons and used them operationally. Senseney said that the darts could have been used to kill human beings and he could not rule out the possibility that this had been done by the CIA. He said he had developed a dart launching device that looked like an umbrella. Simulation of Heart Attack Anoraer technique is a special type of poison that induces a heart attack and leaves no trace of any external influence unless an autopsy is conducted to check for this particular poison. The victim apparently dies of a heart attack. The CIA revealed this poison in various accounts in the early 1970's. Among the witnesses, important people, and conspirators who may have been eliminated this way are Clay Shaw, J. Edgar Hoover, Earlene Roberts (Oswald's landlady) and Adlai Stevenson. The Technique of the Hypnotized or "Programmed" Assassin A second category, already discussed in the Robert Kennedy and George Wallace shootings, is the use of a "programmed" assassin or patsy. "The Manchurian Candidate"always seemed to be a science fictional story. Now, it is well known that the CIA has used hypnosis and "programming" to achieve a number of objectives, including murder. Certainly, there is lettle doubt that Sirhan Sirhan was under hypnosis when he wrote in his diary and when he fired the shots in tae general direction of Robert Kennedy /7/. There would also appear to be evidence that Arthur Bremer was "programmed" to shoot at George Wallace. It is conceivable that one of the assassins in Dealey Plaza could have been "programmed". A man has surfaced since 1975 who remembers under de-programming a firing situation resembling Dealey Plaza. However, it is much less likely that the P.C.G. had to use hypnosis in the J.F.K. murder, since all of the gunmen were angry enough witi J.F.K. for personal reasons to want to kill him. It is also completely untrue that Oswald was programmed, as the book "Were We Controlled?" by Lincoln Lawrence (an alias for radio commentator Art Ford) postulates /8/. The evidence shows Oswald didn't fire a shot, was on the second floor of the TSBO at the time of the shots, and was very calm until Patrolman Baker pointed his gun at him. Strangely enough, Mr. Art Ford's thesis is true. We were controlled by the P.C.G., although he had the details wrong. The Technique of the Patsy A third popular technique is, of course, the patsy. The P.C.G. has developed this to the level of a real science. The assassination is allowed to be obvious, but the assassin is presented as a single, madman or criminal type, acting alone. The patsies so far are either dead or languishing in prison. So the technique has been very effective. There are five of them so far, in the major cases; Lee Harvey Oswald, Jack Ruby, James Earl Ray, Sirhan B. Sirhan, and Arthur Bremer. They are not all exactly alike, nor is the way in which they were used the same in each case. Oswald and Ray did not fire any shots, for example, while Sirhan, Ruby and Bremer did. Sirhan and Bremer were "programmed", whereas Ruby was talked into killing Oswald by his supposed friends in the P.C.G. Four of the five were framed, in the sense that a lot of evidence was manufactured and planted to implicate them, including fake diaries, fake photos, planted guns, bullets and shells, and men using their identities. The one who did not fit this category was Ruby. It wasn't needed in his case because he killed Oswald on live TV and believed until he died of cancer that his friends were going to get him out of jail in exchange for his patriotic act. The Technique of the "Look-Alike" The use of "seconds," men who looked like the patsy, and used his name, (true of Oswald, Ray and Sirhan) is a common intelligence technique. The planting of fake photos in the case of Oswald required some relatively special photographic facilities, but the job was not done well enough to avoid 'detection. The Technique of the "Accidental" Death A fourth technique is the seemingly accidental death. Many of the witnesses and conspirators have been murdered in this way. Bowers. the railroad yard control tower man who saw the real assassins behind the picket fence in Dealey Plaza, was killed by ramming his car at high speed against a concrete abutment in Dallas. He probably received an injection of some kind prior to the crash. Louis Lomax, the black author, who was getting too close to the truth in the Martin Luther King case, was killed in Arizona by forcing his car off the road after causing him to be driving at a very high rate of speed. Hale Boggs disappeared in an airplane crash that left no trace of the plane. And of course, the classic is the "accident" at Chappaquiddick. The Technique of Death with Disguised Cause A fifth technique is an induced death that produces another finding of the cause either by disguising the true cause or by controlling the coroner or those in charge of burial. Examples are: David Ferrie's murder by means of a karate chop to the back of his head, disguised as an embolism of the brain; Clay Shaw's murder by means unknown because People and the PURSUIT of Truth for September,

4 there was no autopsy and complete control of his removal and burial; Jack Ruby's supposed death by cancer in jail, real cause unknown because he was never out of the hands of the P.C.G. until he was underground. The Technique of Apparent Suicide Then there is the favorite sixth technique; supposed suicide. Examples of P.C.G. murders that they somehow turned into suicides are: Hank Killam, one of Ruby's dancers' husband who committed suicide by throwing himself through a plate glass window off the street in Miami; Betty Mooney, one of Ruby's girls who hung herself in her jail by using her leotard skin tights. Roger Craig, who shot himself. Jesus Crispin, who knew Sirhan, killed himself in his cell. A certain man, one of the anti-castro, Florida Keys men, who threw himself off the top of a tall building in Miami. The Technique of Murder, but "not by" the Power Control Group There are some on the list who were admittedly murdered, but supposedly not by the P.C.G. These include Robert Perrin, Nancy Perrin's husband. Buddy Walthers, deputy sheriff under sheriff Decker, shot by a man he was trying to arrest. Elaido Del Valle, a cohort of Ferrie, killed in Miami by an axe on the same day Ferrie was murdered. Rolando Masferrer, blown up in his car. Eddy Benevides, shot by an unknown assailant. (He recovered). The cover-ups in each of these cases were put into effect by controlling the investigation or simply by not having one. A Partial List of 51 Deaths Reasonably Attributable to the Power Control Group The complete list of deaths, including eight major ones: John F. Kennedy, Robert Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Mary Jo Kopechne, Lee Harvey Oswald, David Ferrie, Jack Ruby, and Clay Shaw, numbers a- round 100. Here is a partial list: 1. John F. Kennedy 26. Sharrett 120 East State St. Doylestown, PA In recent issues of "People and the PURSUIT of Truth'; there has been some analysis of the current political campaign situation. And some concern has been expressed over the possible elimination of Jimmy Carter in such a way that he will not become president of the United States. Obvious Ways of Removal Most of the emphasis, however, has been placed on some of the most obvious ways in which to remove a candidate, such as those techniques in evidence over the past thirteen years. It is fairly certain that the power-control group will not resort to an Oswald-Bremer-Sirhan "lone assassin" model since the public is now far too skeptical of this rather blatant insult to common sense. It is also rather doubtful that the candidate will be murdered in any way whatsoever; the other options, such as creating a "scandal" that might damage Carter's reputation as an honest, religious man, might also fail to succeed since the public has already seen a few too many scandals of a dubious nature coming out of Washington. More Subtle Ways of Removal I believe that the public generally (and the readers of"pursuit" particularly) should give some thought to other more complex, more sophisticated ways in which to eliminate a popular candidate who might be a threat to the power-control group and the cover-ups of the numerous crimes that have been committed against the people of the U.S. It is necessary to examine carefully other methods at the disposal of the power-control group so that when the time comes, we "conspiracy nuts" can avoid being mocked for paranoia and groundless speculation over the control of America. Fabrication of Electoral Results Richard E. Sprague has pointed out how the entire U.S. news establishment (which actually consists only of fifteen organizations) has been successfully controlled by the CIA for at least the past thirteen years. Isn't it quite conceivable that the electoral process itself could be similarly controlled simply through the manipulation of information? Isn't it possible for the power-control group and its friends in the'media to simply fabricate the election results and merely say that Ford won the race? One can't forget that President Kennedy won his election by an extremely thin margin; such a margin could be manufactured just as easily through the many resources of the power-control group and its tool, the CIA, and the public would have virtually no way of discovering what really took place. In fact, many historians and researchers believe that there have been many instances of this type of manipulation and fraud in the careers of other former presidents. There is information that Harry Truman entered politics after a petition was circulated in his home state which contained a number of names taken from gravestones. Tampering with the Electoral Process This type of tampering with the electoral process is one of the oldest and easiest techniques that a (please turn to page 6) 4 People and the PURSUIT of Truth for September, 1976

5 JOHN ROSSELLI: HIS MURDER AND ITS IMPLICATIONS PART 1 Jim Kostman David Williams Assassination Information Bureau 63 Inman St. Cambridge, MA The Murder of John Rosselli and Sam Giancana On August 8, 1976, the body of organized crime figure John Rosselli was found wrapped in chains inside a 55-gallon drum floating in Biscayne Bay, Florida. It was duly noted in the press that Rosselli had been part of a 1961 scheme to assassinate Fidel Castro. Rosselli's underworld associate in the Castro plot, Sam Giancana, was himself shot and killed in his Chicago home (while under police surveillance) on July 19, 1975, several days before his scheduled appearance before the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence Activities. The Disinterest of the FBI The murder of Rosselli prompted several members of the Select Committee, notably Frank Church and Howard Baker, to speculate that there was a connection between the deaths of Rosselli and Giancana, and their involvement in the plots against Castro. The senators urged the federal government to enter the case. Attorney General Edward Levi appeared disinclined to do so. In an appearance on CBS's "Evening News",Levi was asked by correspondent Fred Graham about possible connections between Rosselli's death and the anti-castro plots. He responded, "I don't know Fred. You tell me when you find out." Investigation Prodded by the Select Committee The FBI at first would not enter the case, which had been deemed a "typical gangland slaying." But the FBI was ordered to investigate by Attorney General Levi after congressional pressure upon him. At the same time, the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence Activities began its own investigation. For all the discussion in the press of Rosselli's involvement in CIA plots against Castro, little note was taken of the fact that Rosselli had given testimony this spring to Sen. Schweiker's subcommittee investigating the John F. Kennedy assassination. In the middle of his ill-fated drive for vice president, Schweiker confirmed that Rosselli had given testimony to his committee. Then, on August 22, 1976,the Washington "Post"published a front-page story announcing that Rosselli had linked Castro to the slaying of Kennedy. The Assassination Information Bureau has been keeping track of Rosselli's statements for some time. It is worth examining in some detail the history of Rosselli's stated beliefs. Rosselli, Client of Edward P. Morgan, Washington Lawyer The full story begins sometime in 1966, when Edward P. Morgan, a prominent Washington attorney, approached columnist Jack Anderson. He gave Anderson the story that two of Morgan's clients had participated in official U.S. assassination attempts against Castro, and, through this effort, had learned of Castro's role in the Kennedy assassination. Castro had allegedly arrested an assassination team in Havana in February or March 1963, and the would-be assassins confessed under torture that they had been hired by the CIA. Subsequently, according to Morgan's clients, Castro dispatched teams of counterassassins to the United States. A Motive for Castro? The Senate Select Committee report (on the role of the intelligence agencies in the investigation of the assassination of John F. Kennedy) picks up the narrative in January 1967, when Anderson's boss, Drew Pearson, communicated Morgan's allegations to Chief Justice Earl Warren. Warren was alarmed by the story, especially by the implication that Castro, unbeknownst to the Warren commission, actually had a motive to retaliate against Kennedy. The chief justice immediately informed James Rowley, head of the Secret Service. An attempt was made to get Morgan and Pearson to see Rowley, but the meeting never happened. Rowley then reported the information to FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover. The FBI had been sitting on the story for a month when the White House, on March 17, 1967, directed the FBI to interview Morgan. The interview was conducted a few days later, but the FBI again declined to investigate further. During the interview, Morgan stated that his clients could disclose the names and locations of some of Castro's counter assassins. He added that one client "laughs with tears in his eyes" (at the committee's report suggesting that Oswald alone killed Kennedy). Sprague Continued from page 4 (To be continued in next issue) Motivations The motivation for the large majority of these murders was the elimination of either a witness to one of the major assassinations, or a participant or investigator or an associate involved with the participants in one of the assassinations or cover-ups. The participants were: Jack Ruby, David Ferrie, Clay Shaw, Roland Masferrer, J. Edgar Hoover (in the cover-up), and Robert Perrin. There were four investigators, Jim Koethe, Louis Lomax, Dorothy Kilgallen and Hale Boggs. The rest were witnesses or associates. Two articles written in 1976 analyzed some of these murders and concluded that they were not accidents or events unconnected with the assassinations of our leaders. A separate analysis by the author demonstrated that 50 of the first 70 of the murders met three criteria for proving death by foul means connected with the major cases. They all involved people linked directly or indirectly to the major assassinations. They all met death under violent or very strange circumstances and there was no autopsy in any of the murders. UNDERLYING REALITIES AND SOCIAL CHANGE David Williams, Associate Editor Assassination Information Bureau 63 Inman St. Cambridge, MA Wandering Off the Path of Fact Many of the articles which have been published in "People and the PURSUIT of Truth", it seems to me have wandered off the path of fact and into the path of fiction. I have the greatest respect for many of the researchers. They have made outstanding contributions toward revealing a great number of important facts about political assassinations in the United States. But it seems to me that the effort to provide complete pictures of the forces responsible for the death of President John F. Kennedy and other assassinations has led to the invention of simplistic explanations which may "explain," but which may be in large part or almost altogether untrue. Is There a Power-Control Group Really? What concerns me the most is the double notion that some unspecified clandestine group, often referred to as the "power-control group," is responsible for all the assassinations, dirty tricks, and cover-ups of the past 12 to 15 years, and that if we could only expose these people and turn them out of power, everything would become fine, and our democracy would be restored. I can't believe that thesis. It is true that there are numerous instances of mysterious deaths, but it is easy to exaggerate the number of mysterious deaths. In most cases, there is insufficient evidence to draw a definite conclusion. Deeply Rooted Problems The problems of our society are very deeply rooted. There is something inherently exploitative in the United States' version of the capitalist system and that fact cannot be ignored. We need to examine and change an economic system that provides incentives and runaway profits for major corporations and the select few, but never provides adequate jobs, housing and medical care for millions of less-privileged people. The Tree that Produces Rotten Apples in Quantity Certainly there is much corruption and treachery in Washington. But is it a question of rotten apples in a barrel? Shouldn't we look at the whole tree and its roots when it yields such a crop year after year? In order to expose the forces behind political assassinations, I believe, we must be level-headed. We can't afford to fantasize. There is enough already known to spark legitimate fear without having to attribute more wrong-doing to unknown forces and prompt paranoia. REVEREND MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR.'S ASSASSINATION: Additional Evidence From: Mark Lane, Director Citizens Commission of Inquiry 103 2nd St., N.E. Washington, DC (Based on a Letter to Members of the CCI) In accordance with the wishes of Mrs. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s, and others, I have been investigating the circumstances surrounding the assassination of Dr. King. We have uncovered very substantial evidence and have made it known to Mrs. King, to members and leaders of the Black Caucus of_the House of Representatives, and to various other members of Congress. As a result of these efforts it now appears that there may very well be a select committee appointed by. the House to examine this and other evidence regarding the murder of Dr. King. Such a committee may also examine the assassination of President Kennedy, or it may be decided to postpone that investigation until the new Congress meets next year. These truly significant developments have led us to reconsider cur commitment to restrict ourselves as an organization to 'the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Thus far, the work that I have done has been on my own and has not involved the CCI. However, I am in the process of polling the Executive Committee of the CCI to determine their wishes in this area. Certainly with the many accomplishments in the area of clandestine operations stacked up by the CIA and its numerous allies, this method might well be refined to such a degree that all elections could permanently slip from the control of the public and the electoral event itself could easily be rendered a sham, a charade continued periodically solely as a placebo to reassure the masses of the principles of American demoncracy. The Gallup Poll At the end of August, a Gallup Poll stated that Carter has already slipped 15 percentage points in the wake of Ford's victory at the Republican convention. Is it conceivable that a candidate could lose so much before the campaign has even started? Is this the first instance of a fulfilling prophecy (read: control of the Gallup organization by the power-control group)? 7 The Throat Wound of President John F. Kennedy: The Geometry R. B. Cutler Box 1465 Manchester, MA Fred Litwin wrote on "The Back/Throat Wound of President Kennedy," and his article was published on pages 6-7 of the June 1976 issue of "People and the PURSUIT of Truth". But the "through and through wound" of the president's neck is impossible; there was no through-andthrough wound of President Kennedy's neck in Dallas at 12:30 p.m., Central Standard Time, November 23, The only way that the Litwin hypothesis could be true is shown in the two drawings on page 8 of this issue of "PURSUIT". According to the Warren Commission, Litwin, Forman, Belin, Specter, and the "magic bullet," CE 399, the bullet enters the back of the neck and exits at the midline. This requires that the bullet miss the president's spine. In order for this to happen, the flight path must originate at least 28 degrees to the right of the midline of the throat of President Kennedy (see Figure 2 on page 8). This 28 degree cutoff eliminates the windows no. 1 through 8 of the Texas School Book Depository as firing locations; it eliminates the window supposedly used by Lee Harvey Oswald. It leaves as possible firing locations windows no. 9 through 14, the high roof over them, and the low roof to their west, available for locating a possible "through-and-through wounder." Zapruder film frame Z-210 (showing a hit) allows almost one second's reaction to account for the president's position as seen in Z-225 when he first reappears from behind the Stemmons roadsign on the Zapruder film. If one postulates a two-second reaction-time, the cutoff line would shift to the middle of window no. 6. Figure 1; Elevation, at Z-210, shows TSBD's south wall as it was during the less-than-ten seconds used for the assassination. The 28-degree cutoff again limits the through-and-through wounder's locations. The checklist below will help all present and wouldbe members of the Litwin, Forman, Lattimer, Belin, Specter, and CE 399 Club: (High) Roof: vertical angle much too steep VII: vertical angle too steep; no open windows VI: vertical angle too steep for the five open windows V: vertical angle still too steep; three men in eastern section of open floor would have seen and heard rifleman in open windows IV: vertical angle almost feasible; woman in only open window eliminates this location for a rifleman III: vertical angle feasible; all windows closed and venetian blinds lowered on all but one which is out of the permitted area II: any bullet from these windows or the (low) roof to the west must "fishtail" through the interlaced foliage of the trees southside of the original Elm St. The really important task at this time is not insisting again on discredited and disproved analyses and theories, but devoting energy to helping Rep. And it is possible because of the profusion of photographs available to know exactly how President Kennedy's neck was oriented at the critical time: frame 210 of the famous film taken by Abraham Zapruder.
