4 Pag 4 of 12 E.1 UNWANTED EMISSIONS IN THE SPURIOUS DOMAIN Reference document ETSI EN V2.4.1 ( ) Test site This test has been performed in the semi-anechoic chamber of the EMC and Electrical Safety Testing Laboratories Eurofins - Modulo Uno SpA Parco Scientifico Tecnologico e delle Telecomunicazioni in Valle Scrivia Loc. Rivalta Scrivia - Tortona (AL) - Italy. The test site has been validated by means of site attenuations and VSWR measurements for both horizontal and vertical polarization fields in the frequency range of 25 MHz to 6000 MHz and is in compliance with the requirements of the reference standard (annex A.1.2): Test set-up According to the standard reference, as shown in the following pictures. For testing the E.u.T. without an external antenna connector, the height of the E.u.T. has been chosen to be equal to 0.8 m, instead of the recommended 1.5 m: this height has been found to be the worst case in order to maximize the reflections on the ground plane of the test site and is the same test set-up used as for radiated emissions measurement according to ETSI EN : Test set-up for the spurious domain emissions test Test set-up for radiated emissions tests

5 TEST REPORT N Pag 5 of 12 Configuration of the E.u.T. during the test The E.u.T. was placed upon a non-metallic table from 0,8 m to 1.5 m above the horizontal metal ground plane of the test site. The ancillary equipment is connected to the E.u.T. externally to the test chamber. An image of the test set-up is shown below. 6 Pag 6 of 12 Test procedure The E.u.T. was provided in two configurations: the first was without external antenna connector, (integral antenna) and the second was with an antenna connector. The measurements have been performed according to clause and cl for the case of E.u.T. equipped with external antenna connector and according to clause (procedure according to cl of the standard reference, except that the transmitter output has been connected to the integral antenna and not to an artificial antenna) for the case without antenna connector. Measurements have been performed with a quasi-peak measuring receiver (compliant with CISPR 16-1, art. 2) in the frequency range of 25 MHz to 1000 MHz, and with a peak measuring receiver with max hold function in the frequency range of 1000 MHz to 6000 MHz. Calibrated measuring antennas have been used to measure the intensity of the radiated field at a distance of 3 meters from the boundary of the E.u.T. The antenna has been adjusted between 1m and 4m height above the ground plane and antenna to E.u.T. azimuth has been varied during the measurements, in order to find the maximum meter reading at each test frequency (the E.u.T. has been placed above a turntable and rotated in a 360 angle). Measurements have been performed with a IF bandwidth of 120 khz (up to 1000MHz) and of 1000 khz from 1000 MHz up to 6000 MHz. For all the frequencies in which the peak measurement detects a value higher than the limit minus 10 db, a detailed quasi-peak and max-hold measurement is performed, and the max level is recorded (step 1). For each detected unwanted emission, a calibrated RF signal generator connected with a calibrated substitution antenna is used to replace the E.u.T. and its output is tuned in order to reach the same RF signal level on the measuring antenna as measured in step 1 (step 2). The test is passed if, for all the frequencies, antenna-to E.u.T. azimuth positions and antenna s heights, the output level of the signal generator, corrected for the gain of the substitution antenna, is lower than the limit minus 5.5 db (see par. Test Uncertainty ).

If the measured result is above (below) the specification limit by a margin less than the measurement uncertainty, it is not possible to state compliance based on the 95% level of confidence. However, the result indicates that compliance (non-compliance) is more probable than non-compliance (compliance) with the specification limit. 11 Pag 11 of 12 Step 2: A signal generator with the RF output connected to a substitution antenna replaced the E.u.T. and was tuned on the frequencies of the spurious emissions detected. The signal level was tuned in order to reach the power levels as measured in Tab. 1. In the following Tab. 2, the signal level at the output of the signal generator is shown.
