2 Electro-Magetic Flowmeters Series 4000 Magetic Flowmeter COPA-XE The ABB 10DX4311 magmeter is the ideal flowmeter for meterig homogeeous liquids with a specific miimum electrical coductivity. The flowmeter s accuracy, lack of movig parts, miimal pressure loss ad resistace to abrasio ad chemical corrosio make it applicable to a variety of applicatios. For may years ABB magmeters have bee successfully istalled i ad are the preferred meters for the chemical, pharmaceutical, food, muicipal water ad waste water idustries. The COPA-XE flowmeter is a compact desig where the primary ad coverter are assembled as oe uit. This cofiguratio provides a simple cost savig istallatio with o eed for itercoectig cables betwee the primary ad coverter. The Series 10DX4311 magmeter is a pulsed DC volumetric liquid flow rate detector. The coils are excited with pulsed DC curret i order to establish a magetic field. As a coductive liquid passes through this magetic field, a electrical voltage is iduced i the liquid which is directly proportioal to its velocity. This iduced voltage is sesed by the electrodes ad set to the coverter which digitally processes the sigals ad coverts the ito aalog ad digital output sigals. Additioal data security is offered by a exteral serial EEPROM located i the coverter. The EEPROM ca be trasferred to a replacemet coverter to trasfer the primary data ad cofiguratio parameters. 3
