In this Masterclass Mark will share optimum camera-settings to enable you to capture professional quality portraits. He will demonstrate how to capture images with a very shallow DOF while ensuring the eyes are always pin-sharp. He will further demonstrate how to achieve figure and BG separation. Masterclass 2 & 3: Ballet Studio Workshop We will have the use of TWO working Ballet-Studios complete with Barre and Full Mirror, access to Ballerinas with Tutu s, Hip-Hop and Steampunk Dancers. Malcolm Fackender will teach the art of Mirror- Photography and how to get pin-sharp pictures from jump-leaps and pirouettes. If you want to improve your fast-moving-subject-photography, this one is for you. David Oliver will be the Masterclass-Leader in the Studio next-door. In this Masterclass he will concentrate more on taking classical pose Portraits with the same Dancers and Ballerinas who participated in the

2 Action Shoot by Malcolm. We don t get the opportunity often to shoot Dancers and Ballerinas beautifully dressed and turned out. If you are after a more sedate shoot with controlled movements easy to capture and end up with beautiful images to take home, this one s for you. A variety of models will be available for this Workshop Masterclass 4: Full Studio Set-up with a variety of Lights and Backdrops Tim Bauer will conduct this Masterclass. He will share his secrets on posing and photographing a subject s best side and exploring and capturing the personality of his subject. He will also demonstrate how to change the mood of an image simply by adding or moving the light source. Tim has had 40 years experience in the Industry. He s had wellknown celebrities in front of his lens during these years. He has a knack to get even the most nervous person to relax. Masterclass 5: Fine-Art Photography

3 This Masterclass by Doug Coleman will help you come to terms with basic lighting. Very basic. With Doug s help you will be able to set aside your fear of the dreadful external flash for ever. You will get all the technical help you need to use an external flash with great success. Doug will teach you how to get creative with ONE light, he ll show the effects between different modifiers and use hard light to get pleasing results. No more unsuccessful family photographs for you. Masterclass 6: Vintage Glamour Pool/Billiard Shoot Susan MacNeill will be facilitating this Shoot. We have the use of a pool and billiard table and Susan will introduce you (or take you back in time ) to the chic, charming, well-dressed days of yesteryear. Not often do we see a man in a Tux and a lady in a long slinky, understated elegant and beautiful dress anymore. Come and have fun with Susan and obtain a few outstanding photos you ll be able to use with great success in Competitions. Masterclass 7: Ice Crystal Photography Husband and wife-team, Diane and Colin Schofield will teach you how to obtain interesting and unusual backgrounds for your Creative Work and abstract photography. If you feel a little stale and are looking for a new

4 genre to branch out to, this is the one class you must attend. It is also a very good basis for any Macro Photography in the future. Each image you take is unique and can NEVER be repeated. For this class we will have TWO fully equipped Stations, complete with light source, polarising filter, petri dish with frozen crystals and Camera and Macro Lens with a Polarising filter attached. All you need is your OWN SD card to insert into the Camera to be able to take your own unique photographs. TWO more Stations will also be available for delegates who have their OWN Camera with Macro Lens and Polarising Filter attached, as well as a Shutter-release Cable or Bluetooth remote for their Camera. Tripods will be made available at the Shoot, you don t need to bring your own. Diane and Colin will let you have extensive notes on this Masterclass, so you can try this on your own at home. ***Please note that we have decided to bring all Masterclasses inside or at least under a huge veranda (natural light) so we are not hampered by inclement weather on the day.
