5 Direct selection Rectangular linear luminaires are growing in popularity all the time, and modular luminaire systems are at the forefront of this design trend. RIDI makes life easy for lighting designers and architects, with three systems which each offer high output, outstanding workmanship quality and an extensive range of customer-specific accessories. Each of the three systems U-LINE, H-LINE and VENICE is made in Germany at RIDI Leuchten GmbH s ultra-modern manufacturing facility and each one offers a wide selection of profiles, gear trays and fixing options. As standard, the profiles come with a natural anodized finish, but can be painted if required in a variety of RAL shades. The luminaires are designed to be fitted with T16 fluorescent lamps. An additional version permits the use RIDI s own internally developed LED lamp R-TUBE. Alternatively, an LED variant is available with a high-efficiency linear module for shadow-free illumination. The MINI versions of linear luminaires fitted with LEDs come with a cross-section of just 38 x 40 mm for the U-LINE-M and 38 x 80 mm for the H-LINE-M, making them ideally suited for subtle, filigree continuous lighting runs. With its U-shaped cross-section, the U-LINE-M provides direct illumination, while the profile of the H-LINE-M creates two separate light channels for direct and indirect light. 5

8 U-LINE: A luminaire system for individual design with direct and/or direct light For T16, R-TUBE or with LED modules U-LINE comprises a plain aluminium profile with U-shaped cross-section, and can be used both for direct and indirect lighting applications. One profile variant allows an additional indirect component to be created when using direct lighting. The versatile possibilities for combining the supporting profile, gear tray and connectors allow lighting systems to be configured with parabolic louvre or opal cover both in a straight line and around corners. The ballast is integrated into the luminaire s gear tray, further streamlining the luminaire to enhance its simple linear clarity. The aluminium supporting profiles can be fastened either by invisible means or using a striking cylindrical fixture to the side of the profile. Whether configured to create a continuous system, as a single luminaire or a complex luminaire construction for ceiling or pendant mounting, U-LINE provides an ideal lighting solution for highly frequented building areas in which dazzle-free light sources are required in the interests of safety. Ideal for corridors, halls or staircases, offices or wherever indirect light is required to create a dazzle-free, bright atmosphere. Design: Dipl. Ing. 12 With LED module U-LINE-M U-LINE-M is a minimalist linear luminaire using LED technology. The LED modules and covers are accommodated in the aluminium U-profile with its cross section of just 38 x 40 mm. U-LINE-M with opal panel in plastic (above), microprism panel (centre) and dummy cover (below). The U-LINE-M can be used to configure subtle continuous lighting systems in corridors and hallways. The pendant luminaire is covered from below by an opal panel made of PMMA or a microprism panel. The pendant luminaire is fixed by a retainer within the luminaire base or alternatively using spring clips which grip the profile and can be located where required. The converter is accommodated separately outside the luminaire in a canopy or in the suspended ceiling. Connectors are available which allow continuous mounting, and matching L, T and X-shaped connectors permit the configuration of seamless corner constructs. 12

16 H-LINE: Two separate lighting channels + separate through wiring = unlimited scope for combination For T16, R-TUBE or with LED modules The H-LINE comprises an extruded aluminium profile with an H-shaped cross-section. This produces two separate lighting channels with separate through wiring, making for an almost limitless number of combination possibilities for individual design solutions. The ballast is integrated in the gear tray, eliminating the need for an additional canopy which could detract from the luminaire s characteristic linear clarity. The suspended H-LINE profile with its indirect lighting component is ideally suited for brightening dark corners or integrating a ceiling raft into an interior architectural concept. Plenty of light reaches the work surfaces and the indirect component ensures adequate contrast. Variants with opal cover, parabolic louvre or asymmetrical reflector can be combined within a single luminaire. The luminaires can be fitted with T16 standard or T16 seamless lamps, or optionally with LED linear modules or the LED lamp R-TUBE. T16-Seamless lamps and LED linear modules ensure continuous illumination without shadow formation. For an individual note, the luminaires can be coated in a range of RAL shades. 16

The dimensions are certainly worth mentioning: With a width of 38 mm and a height of 80 mm, this linear luminaire blends practically unnoticed into the interior architecture. Using the available connectors, continuous lighting systems can be created. Matching L, T and X-shaped connectors permit the configuration of seamless corner constructs. The pendant luminaire is fixed by a retainer within the luminaire base or alternatively using spring clips which grip the profile and can be located where required. To cover the luminaire above and below, plastic opal covers in PMMA and microprism panels are available. Dummy covers in aluminium are used for unlit areas within the lighting channel. 20

24 VENICE Linearity coupled with simple elegance, bathing the room in pleasant and evenly distributed light. For T16, R-TUBE or with LED modules The purist design statement of the VENICE offers the ideal answer for bold interior lighting schemes and for shop or industrial lighting. The ballast has been unobtrusively integrated in the gear tray in this luminaire system. The recessed and surface-mounted lighting channels exude linear appeal and simple elegance. L, T or X-shaped connectors available as accessories allow the configuration of wide-ranging different lighting constructs. The sophisticated lighting technology used in flexible combination with different optical controls leaves practically unlimited scope when it comes to lighting solutions. Through wiring in the form of a flexible power take-off is integrated into the channel as standard. The patented wiring profile used has been adopted from the established RIDI LINIA continuous lighting system. The luminaires can be fitted with T16 standard or T16 seamless lamps, or optionally with LED linear modules or the LED lamp R-TUBE. T16-Seamless lamps and LED linear modules ensure continuous illumination without shadow formation. On request, the profiles can be coated in a range of RAL shades, allowing them to be either transformed into an attractive eye-catching feature or a subtly integrated lighting sculpture. 24

28 PRODUCT OVERVIEW The standard U-LINE, H-LINE and VENICE variants are designed to be fitted with T16 fluorescent lamps or T16 seamless lamps. Optionally, HE or HO through the use of a multi-watt ballast. Two variants are available as an LED solution: For R-TUBE: With this LED lamp, it is possible to combine the optical controls for the T16 versions. With LED module: For continuous shadow-free lighting. The mini versions U-LINE-M and H-LINE-M are fitted with LED modules. The luminaires are available in various light colours (3000 K, 4000 K, 6500 K) and different lumen packages. 30 OPTICAL CONTROLS, OPTICS & ACCESSORIES Opal satinised cover in PMMA Transparent cover in PMMA with microprism structure A variety of optical controls can be used in the U-LINE, H-LINE and VENICE systems: For most lighting projects, opal and prismatic covers are the ideal solution. Depending in the application, aluminium parabolic mirror louvres and asymmetrical wall washers are also available. Different light distribution configurations can be realized by using linear optics. The available components can be used to configure a complete system which fulfils every conceivable requirement. Parabolic mirror louvre in aluminium The functionality and shape of the profiles can be adapted using emergency lighting elements, sensors, junctions and angular connectors. A 3-phase lighting track is provided in the units to allow connection of spotlights. Dummy covers in aluminium are used for unlit areas within the lighting channel.
