2 ENKAUSTIKOS WAX PAINTS The Enkaustikos professional line of wax paint has been manufactured in Western New York since Enkaustikos uses U.S. Pharmaceutical Grade Beeswax, which is chemical and bleach free, and the highest grade of Damar Resin to make the base of all their wax paints. To this base they add only the finest, artist grade dry pigments. These pigments are lightfast and engineered to withstand the heat requirements of the encaustic process without color shifts. Their milling operation is the ultimate paint making system, utilizing advanced technology. It is capable of shearing pigment to the smallest particle size producing a paint that is richer, creamier, cleaner, and more vibrant, bringing out the true personality of each pigment. Enkaustikos recommends heating their wax paints between 150 and 175 degrees F to prevent unnecessary fumes, and to offer optimum working characteristics.
