Sand lightly with 400 grit sand paper. Wipe off dust. Basecoat with Multi Purpose Sealer, dry. Sand again and wipe off all dust. Base coat the entire Painter s Carry All (Inside and outside) with Gesso. Let dry. Sand again and then wipe clean. Hints (read before painting) There is easy to do and fun permanent marker pen work. All highlights are dry brushed. Put the tracing paper on and transfer detail as needed. All base coats for the brick and tile sidewalks are painted Fleshtone For the tile shade Burnt Sienna Dry brush Titanium White All bricks are painted Burnt Sienna Use a small flat brush and pull out side to side strokes of color. Light grey is used for all cement and stone work and is a mixture of French Grey Blue and Titanium White. When making this mix do not over blend. Base coat all windows Lamp Black and paint trim White. Flowers are all tapped in using a small Deerfoot brush loaded with Black Green. Use a small Deerfoot brush and tap in colors of your choice for flowers. Paint tiny comma strokes of Hauser Green for leaves. 2 artistsclub.com

3 PAINTING INSTRUCTIONS Trace design onto tracing paper. Lay Graphite beneath tracing paper. Transfer major design lines only. Lay tracing back as often as needed as you are painting. Use a large brush to paint the entire inside. Paint one side of the removable brush holders True Red and the other side Turquoise. Paint some of the inside shelves True Blue and some Dioxazine Purple or any color of your choice. Let dry well. artistsclub.com 3

5 SIDE A Transfer the major lines to Side A of the Painter s Carry All. Stone Building Basecoat the stone building French Grey Blue. Use the Identi Pen Black marker to draw randomly different shaped stones. Black Sign Base coat sign Lamp Black. Paint Brush Cadmium Yellow and point of brush True red. Metal part is Light grey mix of Black and White. Outline sign True red. Use the White Permanent Marker pen to write the words. Windows Lamp Black. Shutters and door Napa Red. Shade Lamp Black Dry brush highlights with mix of Nap Red and white. Outline all trim with 10/0 Liner and Titanium White White sign Base coat Titanium White. Outline and write words with Black Marker Rolling Hills, Mountains. Water, Grass and Roads Base coat hills Hauser Light Green. Shade Hauser Medium Green. Highlight Sour Apple. Base coat mountains with a mix of White and Dioxazine Purple. Shade Dioxazine Purple. Highlight White. Base coat water True Blue. Shade Navy Blue. Highlight White. Paint the Roads Sand. Shade Burnt Sienna. Small Houses Amongst Hills Base coat houses Titanium White. Roofs True Red and the other Fleshtone. Use Black marker to draw windows. Use White Marker to draw smoke from chimney. Trees, Bushes and Flowers and Flower Pots Base coat tree trunks Burnt Umber. Highlight Burnt Sienna and then White. Base coat the hanging Flower pot Cadmium Yellow. Base coat the larger flower pots light grey. Shade Black Green, Highlight White. Use a Deerfoot brush and tap in Black Green shapes for all trees, bushes, and flowers. Highlight with random colors on your palette Hauser Green light, Turquoise, Cadmium Yellow, Pumpkin, True Blue, Dioxazine Purple. Paint Brush Fence Base coat the fence True Red, Shade Napa Red. Paint the tip of the Paint brushes any color of your liking. Metal part light grey. Shade Black. Highlight Titanium White. artistsclub.com 5

7 SIDE B To paint all of the tile sidewalks and brick buildings refer to the Hints section (page 2). Base coat all brick and tile areas Fleshtone. Shade Burnt Sienna. Highlight White. Use a 10/0 Liner to paint the random separation of tile lines. Stone Building Basecoat the stone building French Grey Blue. Use the Identi Pen Black marker and draw randomly different shaped stones. Paint windows. Paint trim Dioxazine Purple. Heart is White. Dry brush windows True Blue. Fleshtone Building Base Coat house Fleshtone. Shade Burnt Sienna. Paint windows. Paint shutters, door and trim Hauser Green Medium. Use 10/0 Liner and White to paint cross hatching on windows. Base coat signs White. Use Identi Pen Black marker to write words and draw lines in door. Outline details with Identi Pen Black marker. Base coat light black. Paint glass White. Use Identi Pen Black marker for detail. Paint the rose and paint brush True Red. American Flag Building Base coat the flag White. Paint the square True Blue. Shade Navy Blue. Dry brush White. Paint the stripes True Red. Base coat the house Black. Paint random shapes of light grey stones. Paint windows. Paint trim and shutters Turquoise. Paint the cement and stairs light grey. Shade Black. Use the Identi Pen Black marker for detail. Basecoat the awnings Cadmium Yellow. Shade Burnt Sienna. Small Red Door Building Paint the heart and door True Red. Shade Napa Red. Highlight Pumpkin. Paint the stonework Lamp Black. Paint the stones Grey. Paint the sign Lamp Black. Outline with 10/0 Liner and True Blue. Cement work light grey. Float Burnt Sienna lines for shingles. Buttermilk House and Archway Base coat the house and archway Light Buttermilk. Paint the shutters True Red. Door is Dioxazine Purple. Line work is Burnt Sienna. Lamp Post Basecoat lamp post Lamp Black. Float a Titanium White line for a highlight. Panes Titanium White. Float Cadmium Yellow on the bottom part of the panes. artistsclub.com 7

9 Paint one of the Carrier s side with bricks and the other side with the stones. Refer to Hints (page 2) for painting instructions. (see photo pg. 8): On the brick side paint the shutters Hauser Green. Shade Black Green. Highlight Turquoise. Paint the door Lamp Black. Highlight details Turquoise. Paint the flower pot light grey. Paint tree Black Green using small Deerfoot and highlight Hauser green. Paint the stone side windows. Paint the trim on the round window Light Buttermilk. Paint the shutters Dioxazine Purple. Paint the door Navy Blue. Highlight Turquoise. Paint flowers in the window boxes. FINISH Look over your work Add more shading. Highlights and pen marker liner work if necessary. Dry.
