96 TEXTILES SUITABLE FOR INDUSTRIAL WASHING Resuinsa has certified its products as suitable for industrial laundering. A certification process that certifies that their textiles are suitable for industrial laundering, a process of very aggressive washing that creates extraordinary wear in any fabric. It is the first company in the world to obtain this certification and again this indicates the their difference in relation to moving ahead of the requirements of the sector and putting themselves in the vanguard in relation to R + D + R in the textile sector. Technical considerations Items undergoing industrial washing should have high resistance and be able to maintain their qualities over time, being able to withstand the harsh conditions of industrial laundering, very different from domestic laundering. In the industrial laundry process, multiple factors are involved: the temperature of laundering, the detergents and the chemicals used, the temperature of drying and calendaring, ironing, etc. The products used in the industrial laundering processes were detergents without a specific optical whiteness of the UNE EN ISO 15797:2004 standard, as well as hydrogen peroxide (as a bleaching agent).the textile items were washed at the temperature of 75 C and subjected to various processes of drying and ironing. In this study, we analyzed first the original textile items, subjecting them to physical and chemical analysis in order to collect data for later comparison with the data obtained after the laundering processes. Elements such as tensile strength, laminar mass, absorption capacity (only in the bathroom linen items), degree of whiteness (with the exception of the color articles) and degree of polymerization (DOP) were tested. The textiles endured 50 cycles, consecutively, with their corresponding drying and ironing. After these cycles, the same physical and chemical analyses that were performed originally together with the dimensional stability analysis were carried out to confirm the useful life of the fabric. If a company goes through these processes in good condition, it obtains a certification as suitable for industrial laundering. RESUINSA is a pioneer in R + D + R in contracted textiles and collaborates with the referenced Institutions in relation to innovations. 94
