22 FAQ FAQ What is Egyptian cotton? Egyptian cotton, from the cotton specie, Gossypium Barbadense, is indigenous to a group of the West Indian islands named the Lesser Antilles. It gets its name from Barbados, one of these West Indian islands. Gossypium Barbadense is grown extensively in Egypt and has the reputation of being the world s finest cotton. The length of the fibre (or the staple) is much longer than that of other cottons. The longer the fibre, the higher the quality of the cotton. The length of the fibre makes it possible to spin the finest of yarns without losing the strength. What is Flax linen? Linen is a natural fabric more ancient than cotton or wool, manufactured from the fibres of the Flax stem. Valued for its exceptional strength, coolness and freshness, it is a beautifully textured fabric. The issue of thread count While high thread count can certainly make for better sheets, it s the thread (or fibre) itself that matters most. In fact, a sheet of a better quality fibre with a lower thread count will feel softer and stand up to washing better than a sheet of a lower quality fibre with a higher thread count. Terms and Conditions To be eligible for a refund/exchange, you must return your unopened product in the original packaging within 30 days of invoice date. In the case that the item has been opened but is still in original condition (unwashed and unused) a store credit to the value of that item will be issued in lieu of a refund. Customised products cannot be returned for refund or exchange. What is your delivery policy? We deliver all our products throughout South Africa using a door-to-door courier, with free delivery for all orders over R4000. Orders under this amount will incur a flat rate delivery fee of just R200. All stock items are usually shipped within 3 to 4 working days after payment, and will be delivered to the address you supply. Deliveries take place Monday to Friday during normal business hours. Please ensure that there will be someone available at the nominated delivery address to receive the delivery. Delivery to Namibia is availably at a nominal fee which is determined by the size and weight of your order, please contact us for more information, info@faluccalinen.co.za What if my item is faulty? Falucca Fine Linen is committed to honouring its obligations. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality. 23 Taking care of your Falucca Fine Linen Bedding care is simpler than you might realise, especially when it comes to bedding made with natural fabrics such as Egyptian cotton and Flax linen. Taking good care of your bedding by washing it regularly with the right detergents, as well as drying it in the correct way, will help to maintain its quality and great texture for years to come. Washing: Machine wash at <40, regularly. We recommend at least once a week if being slept in nightly. Do not overload the washing machine and make sure the bedding is rinsed properly. Wash whites and colours separately. Detergent: Never use strong chemicals or detergents on your linen. We recommend a domestic liquid detergent readily available at all supermarkets. Small amounts of fabric softener can be used on cotton, however, this is not necessary. Tumble drying: You can do so on low heat, however, we recommend line drying for longevity as it puts the least amount of stress on the fabric. Coloured cotton bedding should be dried in the shade so as to avoid sun bleaching. Ironing: Iron using a steam iron on the correct heat setting or iron while slightly damp. Do not bleach or use powders containing optical brighteners. Do not dry clean.
