Time sure flies!!! Meeting time has NOT been changed. Meeting at 6:30pm. I don t plan on being at the high school until 5:45pm. Paper challenge is over but Briggs Printing told me that Haywood and Tannehill only got 1 box. I m working on delivery of 1 box to each. We may have a need for Quilts of Valor. More to come on this project. No refreshments for the remainder of the year. We currently have 4 cases. Debbie will call Briggs to see which school needs paper. It was stated that Haileyville or Hartshorne still needs paper. 3 2016 Quilt Show October 29, 2016 A non-judged show to promote the quilting craft to the community. Linda Burnett, show chairperson Entry forms are available on the website, yahoo group page, and in the meeting room. We will need your help to sell the tickets for the donation quilt and there are other positions for you to volunteer Darlys volunteered to show the opportunity quilt at Rhema Camp and the Talihina Retreat and handled the ticket sales. We did very well at the retreats!!! Thanks to all who have volunteered to help with the show. Page 3 Sharron Hearod distributed the patterns for the 2017 Opportunity quilt. The house blocks are due at the November meeting. The house blocks are to be made with a daytime scene. Sharron reminded us, the patterns are original and to make copies before using. There were 5 blocks left as of the August meeting. Contact Sherron if you would like to volunteer to make a block. The McAlester Hospital is giving out 6-10 quilts per month to mothers of newborns. Thanks to all who have made quilts for this continuing community project. Mark your calendars: Meeting 6:30pm Tidbit: Complete projects one at a time while you are still excited about them. That way you won t end up with too many UFO s. Of course, it s ok to have the next project ready to start. Have the pattern and fabrics in a see through bin. 4 2017 August Rhema Camp Sponsored by Kiamichi Quilt Guild Location: Rhema Ranch outside Checotah, OK. Date: 9:00 am Thursday Aug 17th until 11:00 am Sunday Aug 20th, PLEASE NO EARLY ARRIVALS. Please be packed & ready to leave the facility on or before 11:00 am Sunday. Cost: $140 per camper. Payment guarantees your space & is due at the time of registration. Please contact the camp director if you re unable to attend camp. If we have a wait-list, we will be glad to help you find a replacement. Unless a replacement is found, THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS. If you are on our wait-list we do not deposit your check until there is an opening. What is provided: Lodging, meals, beverages to include water, tea, lemonade, fruit punch, coffee, (beginning with lunch on Thursday & ending with a continental breakfast on Sunday), sewing tables, community cutting & ironing stations. The bunkhouse has 12 beds per room with a bathroom/shower area. There are four rooms to a bunkhouse. We use two bunkhouses. Suggested items to bring: Sewing machine, extension cord, personal sewing chair (opt), bedding, towels & shower items, flashlight, ear plugs. A COVERED CUP IS RE- QUIRED in the SEWING AREA. Beds are hard, mattress pad or sleeping bag may be needed to sleep on. Be kind to your neighbor, remember you share a conference table with one camper, so be conservative when bringing the items you need to work on your personal project(s). Vendor(s): Available for your shopping convenience. Swimming: The swimming pool will be available for our use. NO SWIMMING ALONE, always take a buddy with you.
