1 Whidbey Island Fabulous Fall Fiber Sale Sept 19, 2009 Despite the heavy rains at the beginning and the end of the day for our 2 nd annual Fiber Festival, we were visited by many from near and far and all had a fun filled dry core of the day. The rain did deter some but maybe that was because some could not believe we would really follow through in such weather not realizing there was a silver lining hanging over our heads for most of the day. We are a dedicated bunch and rain or shine we had our day for WIFFFS. Those that did come found lots and lots of beautiful fiber, roving, yarn, and quality handmade products from our 19 NW participating vendors as well as complimentary cider & goodies. Demonstrations were ongoing all day. Our visitors were here to stock up for winter projects and gift items and we were very happy to accommodate them. So thanks to those who made the journey and for all of the good conversation and laughs. Next year the odds are we should have a dry day. In 116 years of keeping weather records we have been told it has rained 36 times on our selected weekend. We were rained on in 08 and in 09 so the odds are now in our favor for our next event which will be September 18, Hope to see you all then Rain or Shine. Photos of the event are at Mary Donaty

BraidersHand or Eleanor River: Natural colored sheep fleeces, greasy and processed. Colors range from black, shades of grey, moorit, cream and white. Tanned hides in several colors. Orders will be taken for raw dog food (human grade lamb ground with the organ meats); freezer lambs; ground lamb for human consumption; breakfast and linked sausage.
