1 ST DOMINIC S PRE-SCHOOL NEWSLETTER 3 18 FEBRUARY 2016 One School, One Family, One Spirit
2 PAGE 2 ST DOMINIC S PRE-SCHOOL Pancake Day Yum Yum Shrove Tuesday was celebrated on 9 February. Thank you to the large group of moms who assisted with making pancakes and to all the families who provided gas bottles, pans and other necessary items. Our girls really enjoyed this treat in preparation for Lent. Life Link Collection Thank you for the donations already given towards the Life Link project. Please remember any baby clothes, accessories or products are welcome.
3 PAGE 3 ST DOMINIC S PRE-SCHOOL Congratulations Rebecca Nunes (Grade 00) came second in the Kickerboard event for 4 year olds at the Lois Bassett Gala held on 6 February Well done Rebecca. What to expect :- A day full of fun learning. Remember that work in the Pre-school is spelt PLAY. All activities have a specific object behind them. If you are not sure why we do what we do, ask your class teacher, during break time. Get involved. The more you get involved and do with your daughter, the more you will enjoy your day! Wear something comfortable. Parent Week Odd Job Chart This chart will be up for parent week next week. Please read the cards and choose a job that you can assist us with. All these jobs assist in making your daughter s day at school more exciting and interesting. Leap Day 29 February is Leap Day an extra day in February. This is Celebrated every 4 years. On Monday 29 February we will be celebrating leap day by asking the girls to wear their school shoes and shorts with a bright, funky top along with exciting and different hair do's and accessories. An idea to do with your daughter : draw a picture of herself / family, you as a parent write her a letter, take a photo and put it in an envelope and pack it away and then 4 years later (next leap day) take it out and read it!
