2 Purse Instructions - All seam allowances are 1/4 unless otherwise noted. Cut out all pieces following instructions on the Tru Grid Layout Page. Mark all fold and pin locations with a pencil or fabric marker. Cut all Pellon products 1/4 less on all sides than the pattern pieces unless otherwise noted. Pellon Product Wrong side of fabric Straps - make two Fold one strap in half lengthwise, right sides out and press. Open strap and place right side down. Décor Bond Align Décor Bond edge, fusible side down with the strap centerline. Fuse according to manufacturer s instructions. Fold all edges under 1/4 and press. Fold strap in half lengthwise, wrong sides together. Topstitch 1/8 from edge on the three open sides. Topstitching along the folded edge is optional. Fold Wrong side of fabric Right side of fabric Exterior and Lining For Exterior Only Fold the two accent pieces in half lengthwise, right sides out. Press. Set aside. 3 Fold the main panel pleats. The bottom line should be on top of the top line. Press. Insert the accent pieces between the pleats with the folded edge exposed. Pin in place. Right side exterior main panel Insert accent, right side out, folded edge up, in between the fold of the pleat Fold pleat Topstitch 1/8 from the top folded edge of the pleat. Repeat for second pleat location. Right side exterior main panel Accent Topstitch 1/8 Exterior panel should look like the diagram. 4 Flip the exterior main panel over, wrong side up. Place the Pellon Peltex II and Décor Bond on the wrong side of the exterior main panel. Fuse according to manufacturer s instructions. Décor Bond Wrong side exterior panel Peltex II Décor Bond Strap Match the straps to pin locations on the right side of the main panel. Pin and sew a rectangle 1 1/4 x 2. Set the exterior main panel aside. Topstitch Right side main exterior panel For Lining Only Fold under pocket pieces 1/4 on all sides and press. Sew 1/8 along top side. Place pockets on pattern marking locations right side up on the right side of the lining main panel. Topstitch sides and bottom 1/8 from the folded edges. Leave the top unstitched. 5 Fuse Décor Bond to the wrong side of the two exterior top pieces. With right sides together, baste one long edge of the two exterior top pieces using a 1/4 seam allowance. Press seam open. Align right side of zipper with wrong side of exterior top pieces along the basted seam. Pin and sew. Repeat for lining top pieces without Décor Bond and zipper. Place exterior side pieces and exterior top pieces right sides together. Sew together. Press seams. Topstitch along the top of each side piece 1/8 from the seam. Cut off excess zipper length. Zipper Placement Right side of exterior top Repeat for lining except for zipper instructions. Right side of exterior top Remove the basting stitch. Open the zipper. Center the bottom of the side panels right sides together on the main panel marks that indicate the area that makes the bottom of the purse. Pin and sew in place. Line up the top and side panel with the main panel right sides together. Snip the curved edge of the main panel to ease into place onto the top panel. Pin in place and sew. Turn right side out and press the seams. Repeat for lining pieces. 6 With lining wrong side out, place the lining into the exterior with wrong sides together. Line up the bottom, sides and top. Hand stitch the lining to the zipper. Wrong side lining Right side exterior Make Up Bag Finished Size 6 3/4 x 3 1/2 x 1 1/2 Place the fusible side of the Shape-Flex on the wrong side of the exterior fabric pieces. Fuse according to manufacturer s instructions. With right sides together, baste one long edge of the two exterior top pieces. Press seam open. Align right side of zipper with wrong side of exterior top pieces along the basted seam. Pin and sew. Repeat for lining top pieces without stabilizer and zipper. Zipper Placement Remove basting and open the zipper. Match the raw edges of the two exterior top pieces with the exterior main panel, right sides together. Snip on the exterior top pieces to match the curve of the exterior main panel. Pin and sew in place. Cut off excess zipper length. Turn right side out and set aside. Repeat for lining (no zipper). 7 Place the lining into the exterior, wrong sides together. Line up the bottom, sides and top. Hand stitch the lining to the zipper. Wrong side lining Sunglasses Case Finished Size 6 1/2 x 3 3/4 Place the fusible side of the Fusible Fleece on the wrong side of the exterior main panel and flap. Fuse according to manufacturer s instructions. Place the hook Velcro piece on the right side of the lining flap. Sew in place. Place the other Velcro piece on the right side of the exterior main panel. Sew in place. Match the exterior flap and exterior main panel on the end opposite the velcro dot, right sides together. Pin and sew. Repeat with the lining main panel and lining flap. Right side of exterior main panel Fold open both the exterior and lining and press the seams flat. Evie Carry All Trio Page 7

8 Match and lay the lining and exterior pieces right sides together. Pin and sew, leaving the bottom open. Leave open Wrong side of main panel Turn right side out and press the seams. Topstitch 1/8 from the bottom finished edge. Right side of main panel Fold the main panel in half with lining on the inside. Make sure Velcro locations match.
