2 Take Your Breath Away ROUTE DISTANCE: 90 MILES * Known as "TYBA," this run is one of the most colorful and picturesque routes a motorcycle enthusiast can ride. Capture a glimpse of the beautiful sandstone Subiaco Abbey, a Benedictine monastery located adjacent to Hwy. 64 in Logan County. The Abbey and its associated academy, a boarding/day school of Catholic tradition, pursue the commercial cultivation of grapes and other fruits and feed crops which grace much of the TYBA pathway. With the Boston Mountains to your north and the Ouachita Mountains to your south, you won t want to miss any of the surrounding countryside. Venturing onward, eyes will rise to the majesty of Mt. Magazine State Park, the state s highest peak at 2,753 feet! A summer destination for those seeking respite from the valley s heat, the cooler temperatures and beauty of the mountaintop will take your breath away. Winding roads, plentiful foliage and the overhang of colorful Arkansas hardwoods make this a year-round route. Go.01 miles Turn right on Hwy 27 and go 18.4 miles Turn Right on Hwy 10 and go 8.4 miles Turn right on Hwy 309 Don t forget to stop for the breath taking view and visit Mount Magazine State Park! 3 Arkansas Grand Canyon ROUTE DISTANCE: 157 MILES * The Arkansas Grand Canyon run is without a doubt one of the most favorite routes for motorcyclists in The Natural State. Meandering through the heart of Arkansas s Grand Canyon will be a ride to remember. Zig-zag along Scenic and admire the beauty of some of the most captivating views in the state. Don t be surprised if you see the elk herds in Boxley Valley. Stop and enjoy the Elk Education Center in Ponca. Crisscrossed with natural springs trailing for dozens of hidden waterfalls, the Upper Buffalo Wildnerness area is one of the most picturesque you will discover. Veer east onto Hwy. 16 and hike the short trail to one of the most popular hiking regions in the area Kings Bluff Trails and the famously-photographed Pedestal Rocks. Other unique attractions, scenic overlooks and pullouts make this route a natural! 4 Ozark Run ROUTE DISTANCE: 117 MILES * Brashears 16 Fallsville Don t be surprised if you quickly discover this run to be one of your favorites. The route travels northward toward Red Star where it takes a southern turn to become what is known as the Pig Trail National Scenic Byway for a reason. (Perhaps a trail only the state s popular Razorback would venture upon!) The federally-protected Mulberry River, which originates near Fallsville in the Ozarks, was included in the National Wild and Scenic Rivers program in 1992 and provides numerous Class l-lll rapids, crosses the Ozark Run north of Turner s Bend. Head on toward Hwy. 186 South toward the fertile sandy soil and moderate climate that features Arkansas Wine Country of Altus (and nearby Paris.) Discover the pioneers of the American wine industry, traced back to the 1880s, and the resulting half-dozen family-owned wineries now offering free tours, wine tastings and special events. From the magnificent views of the surrounding Ouachita Mountains, quaint communities and the rolling farm land, the Ozark Run will definitely steal your heart. Hwy. 23 Wine Country! 5 Cedar Falls Run ROUTE DISTANCE: 73 MILES * Interstate 40 Even though this may be a shorter run, it could easily become an unforgettable favorite. Make plans to stay for a day, or maybe three as history unfolds before you at Petit Jean Mountain and State Park. Known for the 300-year-old legend of Petit Jean a young French girl who disguised herself as a boy and secretly accompanied her explorer sweetheart to the New World and the mountain paths best traveled lead you to her gravesite and one of the most spectacular views of the Arkansas River. Arkansas s first state park includes the spectacular waterfall Cedar Falls, Cedar Creek Canyon and Seven Hollows and is laced with wildflower, enchanting woodlands and winding streams amidst the valley below popular Mather Lodge. Facilities constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps, provide a legacy that has withstood the test of time. Travel amidst a place where sheer bluffs have been formed by Mother Nature. Don t miss Turtle Rocks, Bear Cave and more before moving on to the Museum of Automobiles. Wind through nearby Winrock Farms cattle operations located atop the mountain for the past 55 years. Dine at newly-remodeled Mather Lodge before heading back down Centerville Dardanelle Hwy. 64 Cedar Falls Run Hwy. 64 Hwy. 154 Hwy. 154 Morrilton Oppelo the mountain. The south-westerly path winds across fertile river bottom farming lands before circling south of Holla Bend National Wildlife Refuge. Leave the mountain heading west and cross the Arkansas River near Lock and Dam #9, a short diversion off the run s original path. Revving up, set your compass back toward Hwy. 64 toward the fried pickle-eating town of Atkins where the community s popular Picklefest happens each May. Ready for some down time?
