As incoming Chair, I m excited to serve our illustrious District alongside our many dedicated Large Members, and Committee Members include many familiar faces who have served the District well in years past. In addition, we have some new faces who I d encourage you to welcome at our next Capital District Meeting. Before we move on to upcoming activities, I would be remiss if I didn t recap the last few months. A big thank you is in order for the City of Columbia Water Works and Metropolitan WWTP for sponsoring Family Night on May 4th. We were blessed with excellent weather, fun times, and It doesn t get better than that! We would also like to thank CDM Smith for hosting the Executive Committee meeting Finally, I want to thank our now for his adept leadership over the last year. It was a pleasure serving under his guidance and I hope to build on his momentum and energy! At this time, the Capital District Scholarship Committee is hard at work receiving and grading applications for the 2018 Scholarship. This Scholarship is a testament to the District s commitment to education, and I know we all look forward to the awards presentation at the Mid-Year Meeting in September. Be sure to mark your calendars for Wednesday, September 5th. The Capital District will hold the annual golf tournament at a new location, The Members Club at Woodcreek. The following day we ll be heading back to beautiful Pine Island for the Mid- Year Meeting. Keep an eye out for registration info for both of these fantastic events, and the State website is always a good resource for details. Finally, our next Capital District Meeting is being hosted by the City of Newberry on July 19th. As in years past, the meeting will be held at the Newberry Firehouse. I look forward to the technical program that is lined up for this meeting, as well as visiting this historic venue. Hope to see you there!
