Sold Real Estate with Husband for 16 years in Toronto, and raised children. Hospice Volunteer trained in April 2018, and now involved in companioning. 5 President of the Ontario Midwifery Consumer Network for 2 years until midwifery was successfully legislated in Ontario. Volunteered as a birth doula for 5 years, working with pregnant teens and beloved family and friends. Dakota Ridge Trail Host. DR. BRUCE WOODBURN Completed medical training and residency at UBC and Dalhousie respectively Served as Medical Officer on a research ship in the North Atlantic, Labrador and the Canadian Artic Practised Family Medicine in several B.C. Coastal communities, settling on Haida Gwaii Completed residency in Opthamology at UBC Eye Surgeon on the Sunshine Coast for 25 years, caring for large numbers of seniors, helping them to cope with age-related detioration and death. Compassion, empathy, and a positive approach under situtations punctuated by stress, trauma, loss and grief. Sensitivity to the impact of human support on others Time management Evidence based analysis. Broad science background Volunteer surgeon, Philippines and Nepal, doing life-changing eye surgery, helping to break the cycles of poverty and poor-health Operated his Sechelt medical practice as a non-profit for 2 years, donating all proceeds to Seva Canada to support eye care in developing countries.
