ASBA NSW encourages all Members to attend professional development events but appreciates for some Members and their schools, the cost may be prohibitive. Should you require financial support to attend the conference, you are encouraged to apply to the ASBA NSW Committee for a subsidy. The form can be found on the conference registration page. Cancellation Policy Cancellations must be notified by to info@asbansw.asn.au. Cancellations made by 1 st September 2018 will result in a full refund less AUD150 to cover administration costs. As an alternative to cancellation, your registration may be transferred to another person without incurring any cost penalty. ASBA must be advised in writing of any alterations or transfers. CONFERENCE KEYNOTE PRESENTERS Paul Teys Head of Hunter Valley Grammar School Paul Teys is the Principal of Hunter Valley Grammar School (HVGS), a position he has held for 11 years.

HVGS has an extraordinarily healthy financial position, the envy of many, as delegates will learn in his presentation. This is, in part, due to the excellent partnership between Principal and CFO. Paul was previously the Principal of Moreton Bay College (Brisbane), he is a Director of AHISA Ltd, the Chair of the CIS Board, and Chair of the AIS NSW CEO s Advisory Council, amongst his memberships of many professional associations. Dean Pearson Head of Industry Analysis, NAB Australia Bank Dean has over 20 years experience in analysing the economy and assessing the implications both in Australia and globally. At NAB, Dean leads a team of analysts responsible for monitoring key business trends and identifying industries which are likely to provide the strongest growth opportunities and greatest risk. Michael Carr Deputy Chief Executive and Chief Operating Officers, AISNSW Michael Carr holds Masters Degrees in Education, Commerce and Labour Law. He has extensive experience within the school environment both as a teacher of Mathematics and as Principal of three large Sydney High Schools. Michael currently holds the position of Deputy Executive Director at the Association of Independent Schools of New South Wales (AISNSW). He is also the Director of Governance and School Reviews. He has previously been Director of Business Services and Director of Industrial Relations. Michael represents the Independent Schools Council of Australia (ISCA) on a number of national committees.

7 CONFERENCE KEYNOTE PRESENTERS Elizabeth Crouch Chair, Non-Government School Not-for-profit Advisory Committee Elizabeth is a non-executive Director with SGS Economics and Planning and in July stood down as the Deputy Chancellor of Macquarie University after 17 years on the University s governing Council. She was also previously on the Board of Chandler Macleod Group, McGrath and the Macquarie University Hospital. Ms Crouch is on the Board of Health Infrastructure and the Western Sydney Local Health District and is a Trustee of the Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences. She chairs the NSW Government s Non-Government Schools Advisory Council and was recently appointed to the Parramatta Diocesan Finance Council and the NSW Institute for Sport. Elizabeth is a respected executive coach and moderator for the Executive Women s Business program and spent 16 years with the Federal government before moving into the private sector, where she held various positions including as Chief Executive of the Housing Industry Association. She chairs audit committees for the City of Sydney, Office of Environment and Heritage and RailCorp and works with Optimize International, a strategic consultancy advisory firm. In her spare time, she supports a range of community and sporting bodies including as the Chair of the Womens University Rugby 7s and Deputy Chair of the Macquarie University Sydney Rays rugby franchise. Tracey Cain Director, Australian Public Affairs Tracey has provided strategic advice on many of Australia s highest profile issues, significant public debates and notable brands for the last thirty years. As a trusted communications advisor to Boards, CEOs and Ministers, Tracey has established APA as a highly-respected practice across multiple industries and sectors. Her background is in journalism including in the Federal Parliamentary Press Gallery; followed by time as a ministerial media adviser in Australia and the White House in the USA. She has worked in-house as a Director of Communications for a leading Australian corporate law firm offering advice to the firm and its clients; and has also served as a founding CEO for a health and aged care foundation. Having served on multiple Boards and worked with hundreds of CEOs, Tracey has the added perspective of being able to blend communications with governance and risk management.

Peter is a strong believer of the power of altering one's perspective and becoming the change they wish to see. After living and working in The Netherlands and Spain he decided to hitch-hike 1500km's solo in a business suit from Barcelona to Croatia, during his journey into the unknown, Peter uncovered the life changing benefits of being true to himself and his core values. He came back feeling more capable than ever and went on to start two social movements for peace that have both inspired global change and is currently touring the world performing team building activities and public speaking engagements. Dan Haesler Director, Cut Through Coaching and Consulting Dan Haesler works with individuals and organisations around issues of leadership, engagement, mindset and wellbeing. As Director of Cut Through Coaching & Consulting he consults to corporate business, the education sector, elite sporting organisations, as well as the The Black Dog Institute and other not-for-profit organisations. Dan is an international keynote speaker and regularly presents alongside well-known thought leaders and industry experts, as well as Olympians, Oscar winners and His Holiness the Dalai Lama. He regularly features in the media and is passionate about equity and social justice. His first book, #SchoolOfThought is now available with all profits donated to the Indigenous Literacy Foundation.
