By 2016, the number of mobile banking users will nearly triple. And mobile pay is on its way. But which model will prevail? NFC ala Isis? Cloud ala PayPal? Barcode ala Starbucks? Almost half of consumers already use their mobile phones to shop for the best price, and a third want deals offered in real time based on where they are. Issues of exposure, liability, service levels, and, yes, cost, are all in play. Many banks have signed contracts with dozens of pages without a careful review. In some instances, the bank s attorney was asked to review and comment on the contract, but absent specific software expertise, such a review is cursory at best. This session will guide CFOs, COOs, and others with responsibility for negotiating such contracts through a discussion of key contract points that should be addressed. This session is not a legal review but an operational one of the implications of committing to selected aspects of the contract. Participants will leave with insight into how to evaluate contract terms and what areas to ask the bank s attorney to look into in more detail. 6 HOTEL INFORMATION The conference will be held at the Embassy Suites Hotel/Conference Center, located at 1200 Conference Center Boulevard, Murfreesboro, TN. The Embassy Suites is adjacent to the Avenue Murfreesboro lifestyle center, featuring the area s best restaurants and shops. All rooms are suites, and the group rate includes a complimentary cooked-to-order breakfast every morning, as well as a nightly manager s reception. The hotel also has an indoor pool and a fully equipped fitness center. The hotel is holding a block of rooms on a first-come, first-served basis at a special group rate of $140 single/double. The deadline for making reservations at the special group rate is midnight on Friday, March 21. All remaining rooms in the room block that have not been reserved will be released to the general public after March 21, and the Embassy Suites may honor the group rate at its discretion after that date. When the allotted room block is sold, room rates will return to standard prices on a space-available basis, even if it is before the March 21 deadline.
