2 June 22, 2018 Fellow Community Bankers/Directors, It is with much anticipation that I personally invite each of you to attend the Bluegrass Community Bankers Association 2018 Annual Convention to be held August 26 th -28 th. This year s Convention is being held at the Holiday Inn University Plaza in Bowling Green, Kentucky. While the location is new, you can expect the same great experience from the BCBA. Registration begins Sunday evening the 26 th (3:00 to 5:00pm), followed by a great networking opportunity at our Welcome Reception (5:00 to 7:00pm). This leaves everyone the opportunity to visit any of Bowling Green s many dining options that evening. Monday the 27 th will provide a full-day of entertaining and educational opportunities, including our General Session, six Breakout Sessions, the Silent Auction and Banquet. Presentations that day include Improving Kentucky s Competitiveness by Ashli Watts of the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, the latest from returning speakers Scott Kimel and Richard Robey of FNBB, Phil Van Hooser of Van Hooser & Associates, and Matt Evans of Bankers Service Corporation. New speakers will include Ronnie Harris and Logan McCauley of King & Company on the fairness of the Kentucky Bank Franchise Tax, Jeff Davis of Mercer Capital with an update on current bank valuations, and Linda Keith, CPA presenting on the latest trends in loan credit readiness. Bowling Green s own Warren County Circuit Judge and respected storyteller Steve Wilson will provide the entertainment for our Annual Banquet. His talk will be something you will not want to miss. Finally, and for the golfers in the group, please hang around Tuesday morning the 28 th for a round at the Bowling Green County Club, one of western Kentucky s finest courses.
