1 School of Engineering & Applied Science Master of Science in Engineering Master of Biotechnology Master of Computer & Information Technology Master of Integrated Product Design SUMMER CAREER EXPERIENCES SURVEY 2014 Overview In 2014, Career Services surveyed SEAS Master s Candidates from the Class of 2015 to gather information about their summer experiences. Information was obtained for 228 (47.5%) of the 480 Master s candidates expected to receive degrees in December 2014, May 2015 and August In all sections of this report, average salaries were calculated based on students working within the United States. The overall average monthly salary for SEAS Master s internship employed respondents was $4, % of candidates received their 2014 summer employment offers before May Of those respondents that reported summer employment, Technology, Manufacturing and Higher Education Research Laboratories were the top three industries combined, at 73%. Within Manufacturing, 41% of those employed were in Biomedical Products/Pharmaceuticals. The most common job types were Information Technology (47%) and Engineering (25%); of the 25% in Engineering, 51% were involved in Research & Development. Students were invited by and in weekly newsletter messages to complete the Summer Career Experiences Survey on the Career Services website. In addition, employment data was collected from the SEAS Academic Programs Office through Curricular Practical Training requests.
