This year, SMBR is proud to recognize the firms spotlighted in ABCA s newsletter. 3 Page 3 Hensel Phelps Construction was founded in 1937 and was the first company recognized by SMBR to begin our Award Ceremony ten years ago. For the past five year, Hensel Phelps has contracted nationally $1.5 billion with small, minority, women and veteran-owned businesses. Since their first award for the City of Austin New City Hall and Public Plaza, the company has generated over $1 billion of work in Austin from the following projects and applied the same attention to providing opportunities for small businesses: New City of Austin Central Library ABIA Terminal Expansion and Apron Improvements ABIA East Infill Improvements, as well as the Source: SMBR McKinney York Architects was established in 1983 and have been practicing architecture in Austin for over thirty years. McKinney York has expertise across the full spectrum of building types from residential to institutional; civic, cultural, educational; commercial and planning. The company has performed thirty-three prime contracts and six subcontracts to date.
