2 Speaker Name: Dr.Satya Dash Designation: Head Strategy, Partnerships, Entrepreneurship Development Organization: BIRAC Satya Dash interests lie in the interface of government, public agencies, industry & the third sector. His work is focused on national & global science and bio-science policy, strategies for 'business of science', design, understanding & navigating non-linear & complex systems, influencing & impacting political will and is passionate about both S&T strategy & importantly its implementation & outcomes. He has authored the blueprint (titled: Indian Biotechnology: The Roadmap to the Next Decade & Beyond) of the Indian Biotechnology 2025 Roadmap at the behest of Department of Biotechnology, Government of India which was published in 2012 (refer BIRAC/ABLE's webpage). The roadmap emerged & evolved from an extensive consultative exercise, that was driven, spread over two years with national & international stakeholders. Several of the recommendations in the biotech roadmap are in midst of being incorporated into national biotechnology policy implementation plan. he has helped in shaping, designing & refining more than half a dozen national programmes that attempt to bridge the gaps in biotech funding cycle such as establishment of BIRAC's Biotech Ignition Grant (BIG) and biotech social innovation programme, SPARSH, to name a few. BIG & SPARSH have been catalysing the emergence of biotech startups in India. Recently, in Feb-March 2015, He has contributed to conceptualization of Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) & PM's Grand Challenges Initiative which was launched during the India's Union Budget and which would be managed by Niti Aayog. Further, responsible for designed BIRAC's AcE Fund in an equity based co-funding model that would help nascent biotech startup
3 cross the 'valley of death'. Satya had the opportunity to be part of several organizations that had helped distilled his understanding on what works & what doesn't. And if something doesn't work, how then to attempt to make it work: in a reliable way and that is best in class. He believes in quiet leadership & mentorship. And don't believe in Jugaad.
4 Name: Ms. Deepanwita Chattopadhyay Designation: Chairman & CEO Organization: IKP Knowledge Park Deepanwita Chattopadhyay, Chairman & CEO of IKP Knowledge Park is responsible for developing the first Life Science Research Park in India and establishing a sustainable innovation and knowledge cluster around a science park through a Public-Private Partnership model. She has deep interest in entrepreneurship, incubation and institution building. After brief stints as faculty at the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department, BITS, Pilani and as freelance writer and editor of science material for children, she joined the telecom advisory practice of ICICI Bank Ltd., the largest private bank in India, in She was deputed to IKP Knowledge Park as its CEO in August Ms. Chattopadhyay is the Founder Chairman of Support Elders Pvt. Ltd., a startup committed to providing integrated care for the elderly. She serves as a Director on the Board of IKP Investment Management Company Pvt. Ltd. She is a Member of the Governing Body of the National Institute of Immunology, Lucknow Biotech Park, CII National Committee on Biotechnology and DBT Committee of Biotech Parks. She is an Executive Council Member of the Society for Technology Managers (STEM). She also served as an international Director on the Board of the International Association of Science Parks
5 Name: Dr. V Premnath Designation: Head, NCL Innovations Organization: National Chemical Laboratory Dr V Premnath is currently the Head, NCL Innovations the group within National Chemical Laboratory (NCL) charged with the responsibility of championing the cause of technology innovation within NCL. Dr Premnath also provides leadership for the Intellectual Property Group at NCL one of India s leading IP management groups based out of research institutions. Dr Premnath is also the Director of the Venture Center a technology business incubator on NCL campus. Dr Premnath is also a Scientist, Polymer Science & Engineering Division at NCL with an interest in technology development for biomedical products. Dr Premnath has helped found and be the first Director of Venture Center, CSIR-Tech (a technology commercialization company), Orthocrafts Innovations (degradable synthetic polymer based biomed products start-up) and BiolMed Innovations (silk based biomaterials start-up). Dr. V. Premnath holds a B.Tech. from the Indian Institute of Technology - Bombay and a Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA. He has also been a Chevening Technology Enterprise Fellow with the Centre for Scientific Enterprises, London Business School and Cambridge University, UK. He brings with him considerable experience in technology development and commercialization (two successfully commercialized families of biomedical products), incubation and innovation management, working with start-up companies (in Cambridge -UK and India) and engaging with large corporations on research and consulting projects as project leader

7 Name: Dr. Mrutunjay Suar Designation: Director of School of Biotechnology Organization: KIIT, Bhubaneshwar Dr. Mrutyunjay Suar, Director of School of Biotechnology, KIIT University is an entrepreneurial professor. He holds PhD in Molecular Microbiology from University of Delhi and Postdoc at ETH Zurich and in June 2007 he joined KIIT University and established School of Biotechnology. He also established the KIIT Technology Business Incubator (KIIT -TBI) in 2009 as the CEO and is promoting 50 start-up companies in the area of ICT, engineering, biotech and allied areas. KIIT-TBI has been supported by DFID, UK; Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India; Department of Biotechnology Govt. of India; Technology Development Board, Govt. of India and many more public and private agencies. Published more than 50 research articles in international journal of repute, filed 5 patents and promoted 6 technology development in the area of Biotechnology. As a young technical leader, he was invited to Stars Symposium in Switzerland in 2009 and 2010 as a panellist to represent India.
8 Name: Dr. Taslimarif Saiyed Designation: Director and COO Organization: Center for Cellular and Molecular Platforms (C-CAMP) Dr. Taslimarif Saiyed is the Director and COO of C-CAMP, Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms. In this role, he manages C-CAMP's technology platforms, growth strategies, strategic collaborations for new technology creation, education and training programmes, business and innovation accelerator unit. He also oversees the Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer Office at C-CAMP. Prior to joining C-CAMP, he worked as a Scientist with University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), studying neurodegenerative diseases like Parkinson's disease.
