Chrysandra S. Bowen will be speaking at this luncheon. Ms. Bowen will address the topic of Protective Orders how to prepare and what to expect at the hearing. 3 The Verdict Page 3 of 17 Biography of Jamie Beck Jamie attended SMU and graduated with a BBA in Accounting in She attended Texas Tech School of Law and graduated in In December, 1993, Jamie went to work for the Denton County Criminal District Attorney s Office under DA Bruce Isaacks. She worked in the Misdemeanor Trial Division, the Felony Trial Division, and later became the Chief of the Child Abuse Division. In January, 2000, Jamie left the DA s office to open a private law practice as Criminal Defense attorney. She also served as Guardian Ad Litem for children in termination of parental rights cases. She remained in private practice until January, In January, 2007, Jamie became the First Assistant of the Denton County Criminal District Attorney s Office under DA Paul Johnson. She is married with two teenagers and lives in Plano, Texas. Biography of Chrysandra S. Bowen Chrysandra S. Bowen graduated Magna Cum Laude with honors with a B.A.S. in Addiction Counseling, with an emphasis in victim/witness services, and an A.A. with honors in Legal Assisting from Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas in December She received her Juris Doctorate from Texas Wesleyan School of Law in Fort Worth in December Since joining Bowen Law Group, Chrysandra has continued to develop a reputation as an aggressive advocate on behalf of her clients. Chrysandra is passionate about the welfare of her clients and has long had an affinity for children and family issues. I fight for my clients! Decisions that clients make now can have an immense impact on their future. I make it my priority that my clients understand the entire process and all options that are available. At Bowen Law Group, Chrysandra handles a wide-variety of cases emphasizing in the areas of family law, adoption law, business organizations and estate planning. Chrysandra is known for her problem solving ability and hard-working nature. Chrysandra believes that in dealing with family law, it is necessary to think outside the box in order to create an arrangement that will work longterm. The Kansas native spends her free time with her children and also loves to travel.

Next Thursday the 24th is our monthly luncheon and I am attaching the lunch order form for your selections. Please get them ed or faxed back to Lisa Pittman no later than Wednesday morning the 23rd so they can be submitted to Oakmont. Reminder to Committee Chairs - if you have not already submitted your quarterly reports to the EC, please get them in to us as soon as possible. This information will be included in next month s Verdict. Further, if any quarterly reports are not provided in The Verdict, same reports will be made available at the meeting for each member. As you all may have noticed you did not receive a copy of the Verdict for February. We will be doing a double issue of the Verdict this month to encompass February news as well. President Melody Brackeen called the Executive Committee meeting held on January 21, 2016 to order at 12:09 p.m. at Oakmont Country Club in Denton. President Brackeen welcomed 17 attendees, all members. OLD BUSINESS 2. President Brackeen asked for a vote on the November 2015 meeting minutes. A motion for approval was presented by Pam Snavely and seconded by LaKesha Bell. The motion carried by unanimous vote. 3. President Brackeen asked for a vote of approval for the November Treasurer s report. A motion for approval was presented by Vicki Schmidt and seconded by Jennifer Earhart. The motion carried by unanimous vote. NEW BUSINESS 4. President Brackeen advised that she, along with the Executive Committee, approved the 2016 DCPA budget. 5. LaKesha Bell gave a review of what the Social Committee hopes to accomplish this year and handed out a survey for the members to fill out and return back to her. 6. Daphina Park gave a review of the upcoming Valentine s Day fundraiser event I Dig You. She advised that order forms and information would be sent out soon. 7. Member Jennifer Earhart s name was drawn as the door/participation prize. 6. There being no further business, President Brackeen adjourned the meeting at 12:44pm.

President Brackeen welcomed 29 attendees, 1 speaker, 4 guests, and 24 members. OLD BUSINESS 2. President Brackeen asked for a vote on the January 2016 meeting minutes. A motion for approval was presented by Debbie Nyarangi and seconded by Julie Christman. The motion carried by unanimous vote. 3. President Brackeen asked for a vote of approval for the January Treasurer s report. A motion for approval was presented by Kim Guertler and seconded by Heather Collard. The motion carried by unanimous vote. 4. Daphina Park gave an update regarding the Valentine s Day fundraiser event I Dig You. She advised that 85 grams were purchased making a profit of $ LaKesha Bell gave an update regarding the Social Committee s first social event at Fuzzy s and advised that she is planning a bowling social in March. NEW BUSINESS 6. President Brackeen asked the members for approval of making a $100 donation in honor of Delma Aguilar. A motion for approval was presented by Kim Guertler and seconded by Beth Honeycutt. The motion carried by unanimous vote. 7. There being no further business, President Brackeen adjourned the meeting at 1:02pm.
