2 Knitting Club Students will learn all the skills needed to complete basic projects (hats, scarves, fingerless gloves, etc.). This includes but is not limited to: casting on, knit, purl, bind off, and seaming. They will also learn how to make their own knitting needles. For those who were in the club previously, intermediate projects may be introduced. Cost of supplies included. Parent help welcomed. Monthly students will have the opportunity to take a Mathematical Olympiad test, an international competition and there will be opportunities to compete in mathematical competitions. 3 Art Club Do you love to draw, paint and create? We will explore lots of fun and simple art styles and projects in this club. Gain confidence! Have fun! Art supplies included in the club fee. The district Track and Field Meet is on April 28 th, so let s get prepared! You don t have to participate in the track meet, and you can do the track meet even if you don t do the club. But, we hope to see you out there training and learning the events with us! Note: A team track form and concussion form need to be completed to participate in this club. Forms can be found on-line and need to be brought to registration. 4 Beginning to Advanced Beginning UkuGators Club Join the UkuGators and learn to play the ukulele and jam with players. Fall ukulele students should remain in this club. Our focus will be on basic chords to strum some great songs. Most of all we plan to have fun. You will need a ukulele to join the class. There are a limited number of ukuleles available to borrow. Adult players are welcome to bring their own ukulele and learn with us. We recommend the Kala Dolphin or the Kala MaKala as good beginning ukuleles which are available at Nicholson s Music in Folsom or the Strum Shop in Roseville for about $45. A case or bag and a tuner is also recommended. 5 Intermediate UkuGators Club This is an intermediate to advanced ukulele club. Prior experience is necessary. You will need a ukulele to join the class.
