1 Wingard Home Ministries 1279 N. West St. Jackson, MS Rev. Roy M. Wingard, Pastor & Director Charlotte Wingard, Women s Pastor cell # Fax Phone: wwjdcaw@aol.com We welcome you into our home! We and our family live here as in-house missionaries. We are here because we love Jesus & because of our love for HIM, we care about YOU. If you are accepted into our program, we expect three things from you: 1. abide by the rules of this home 2. make a genuine effort to better yourself 3. have a teachable attitude All our services are provided to you free of charge. However, while you live here, we do expect you to help out around the ministry campus and use the talents you have to volunteer here at the homes because YOU are a guest here. God has provided all this for you while you work to get back on your feet. You will never again be able to say no one has ever given me a chance!.this IS YOUR CHANCE! Now, you are able to choose to succeed or fail..it is up to you! FOLLOWING ARE THE RULES OF THIS HOME READ, STUDY & KNOW THEM WELL. KNOWING THEM IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY. EACH ONE IS STRICTLY but FAIRLY ENFORCED! Initial each rule in the space provided to affirm that you have read and do understand each one. 1. You may not use alcohol or any other drug at any time and continue to live in this home. 2. We will not tolerate profanity, stealing, degrading language, threats toward others, gambling, or any abusive behavior on ministry property. This is grounds for immediate termination!! 3. If you smoke cigarettes, you must smoke off the property. You must not give cigarettes to those who are under the age of 18 (it is illegal!) Do not leave cigarettes laying around in the open around minors. 4. WE ARE NOT A DATING SERVICE!!! People who live here are discouraged from having a relationship of a romantic nature with other people who live here. A relationship with someone else in crisis is NOT conducive to successful completion of this program. 5. Music played on this ministry property should be Christian or instrumental. We discourage listening to rap, country, blues, rock, or oldies on the property. You must use headphones in the dorms to keep you music genre personal. 6. We reserve the right to monitor the written literature brought into our homes... WE WILL TAKE & DESTROY ANY THAT WE FEEL IS UNFIT: gossip magazines, sex magazines, witch craft books, sleazy romance books. Literature that we feel is inappropriate for a Christian Home will not be allowed. 7. Televisions are NOT allowed in the dorms. There is a TV/VCR/DVD in the commons area for your enjoyment. All shows are monitored! Nothing will be allowed that is inappropriate for a Christian home. Television hours are: *Monday - Saturday ( 5:00 p.m. - 10:30 p. m. ) *Sunday from 6 a.m. until 10:30 p.m. 8. DO NOT give out any personal information about others who live here!! Minors DO NOT answer the house phone or should they have a cell phone in their possession.let s be honest...if you can afford a cell phone for a child, you really don t need to be here. * If you have a cell phone, or any other expensive electronic device, keep it in a safe place we discourage having them in the dormitories and refuse to be held responsible for their theft, damage, or destruction!
2 9. Our Kitchen is your kitchen.. and food is there for you. The kitchen hours are posted on the kitchen wall and you have access to prepare your own meals during those hours only. Please abide by the following rules: a) You must have your food prepared, eaten, & your dishes cleaned up by kitchen-closed time. b) Put away all the food you use, wash & put up your dishes and clean up your mess. c) Monday thru Friday the evening meal is prepared for you & your family. You are required to be here at 6 pm for prayer & fellowship meal unless you are at work. After this meal you don't have to wash your dishes. d) You are here to save your money! You absolutely may NOT eat-out or purchase food & bring it here. If someone else buys you a meal, do not bring it on campus! When you go to work, take a lunch from home. DO NOT BUY OUT! e) You may not receive, apply for, save, or spend food stamps while you live here. It is illegal & we will report you for fraud. f) Snacks may be eaten anytime: a snack is anything you can hold in your hand and consume without preparation, use of dishes, or utensils. g) Don't take food or beverage (except water) into the bedroom area. Enjoy all you care to consume in the common s area. Do not hide food in the dorms, we will find it and tell you to move out. If you are caught distributing ministry food or supplies to people not living here, your stay here will be ended. 10. A washer, dryer & laundry supplies are provided for you. If you break the laundry rules, you will lose your privilege to do laundry here for one week per infraction: a) Laundry room hours are 6 a.m. until 10 p.m. b) You may not leave the property while you are doing laundry. c) Everyone does there own laundry. If someone is in the laundry and it is finished, find them and have THEM remove it. DO NOT TOUCH SOMEONE ELSE S LAUNDRY. 11. The duty roster is a list of the areas of the ministry that each person is responsible for. When your name is posted beside a part of the ministry area on the roster, you are responsible for the cleaning and up keep of that area at all times! At 10 p.m. each night, your chore will be checked for total completion. No chore swapping! If you do not complete your chore to satisfaction, you will be given: a demerit...the next chore week, you will have two chores; for two chore demerits.the next week, you will have three chores; for three chore demerits in one week your stay here will be terminated. 12. THIS IS NOT A SHELTER! This is our home, and while you live here, you are our house guest this does not mean that we are your maids. If you are not at work, it is your obligation to assist us on the ministry campus before you take personal time. There will be no lying around in the beds during the day unless you are verifiably sick. If you are caught doing this, your stay here will end at that time. 13.You must be up, dressed, with your bed made-up every weekday (Mon.-Friday) morning before 8:00 am. You must be up and dressed with your bed made-up before 9 a.m. on Saturday & 11 a.m. on Sunday. Sunday after lunch, you are allowed to go to the dorms and nap or read. Your curfew is 10 pm on every night except on Tuesday & Thursday (these two nights curfew is 8:00 pm) You must be off the general campus areas & inside the dorms by 10:30 p.m. Lights out & all noise ends in the dorms at 11 p.m. NO smoking after 10 p.m. No Exceptions! If you smoke on the Ministry property, you are terminated right then! If you are out past 10 pm, for any reason except reported emergencies, your stay here is terminated. To work a second shift job or attend an extended-hours church function you must have the director s approval before hand and it cannot interfere with the mandatory Tuesday & Thursday night required meeting at 8 pm 14. If you have children, you are required to make them behave. You are responsible for the feeding, care & discipline of your own children. You may not leave your child with any other guest or an older sibling to baby-sit them with director s approval You set your child s bedtime (as long as it is before 10 pm).
3 15. One of our main rules is that you must be willing to work & able to work a JOB. You will not be signed-in as a guest here if you are receiving SSI or Disability checks from the government.please be aware that we always double check all information given to us! Once your start working: A) you are required to save your money B) No money may be spent from your pay without first getting it approved by the director! At the end of thirty days, if you are still in the program, your performance will be evaluated by the directors: At that time, you will be asked to stay for the remainder of the program OR asked to leave for non-compliance. 23. Please know that successful completion of this program means that we will be more than happy to set you up in housekeeping when you find a home to move into. We will be proud to bless you with furniture, clothes, appliances, food, etc. to get you started out on the right foot and at no cost to you. All you have to do is successfully complete the program and ask for what you need. 24. Breaking of minor every-day rules consistently will result in your dismissal from the program. 25.
