2 Introduction I call my life Gorgeous Chaos. It gives me the permission to live life imperfectly and to still see the beauty of what is. As a concert pianist, I lived the first 30 years of my life trying to be perfect and avoiding mistakes. My self worth was based on how well my last performance on stage was. When I began making lotions and potions in my kitchen (which eventually turned me into an accidental entrepreneur with Om Aroma & Co., my organic skincare company), for the first time in my life, I was allowed to make mistakes. Hundreds of them, in fact. As I experimented with thousands of formulas, it became a physically and spiritually healing experience to treat life as a lab versus a performance. I m not going to lie to you. My life can be chaotic with three businesses, a daughter, a husband, a dog, employees, press appearances, and more. I often hold conference calls in my bathroom while my daughter is in the other room drawing on our wall with crayons. It never surprises me to find a spaghetti stain on my crisp white shirt before going on air for MSNBC. My husband and I love to throw dinner parties, and we have an strict no phones at the dinner table policy. With good reason: my phone constantly buzzes and pings with everything from the employees at the spa, issues at our Catskills warehouse or a question from my PR Rep. My hard stop at 5:00 PM is that beautiful glass of red wine. If I wanted perfection in my life, I d be one unhappy lady. But I see the gorgeousness in all this chaos, and I have to admit: I feel fulfilled and happy. At the end of the day, I ve used my time wisely, manifested tangible results, and I m not expecting my life to be perfect anymore.

3 I ve used this Daily Action Planner in all sorts of shapes and forms for more than a decade. It has helped me to organize the Gorgeous Chaos and to come out of it manifesting tangible successes: an organic skincare line, a major worldwide conference, a boutique spa in Manhattan, the Manifest Method, and Savor Success Circles. It has also helped me schedule things that I love to savor in life: violin lessons for my daughter, dinner parties, date night, brunches with friends, and spa time. The Weekly Pilot Plan gets you to think like the Pilot of a plane. How you spend your time indicates where you will be in five years. I do my Weekly Pilot Plan every Sunday afternoon. It s a ritual for me to have a cup of tea or cappucino, light a candle, and think about how I want my week to go. It is an extremely powerful exercise to access your inner resources and knowledge. It pulls you out of an overwhelmed state into one of empowerment. We don t always use all of our inner resources to make intuitive and powerful decisions. Until you strengthen the Pilot, you will always be flying under the radar. This is your opportunity to step up to the plate, own your power, and become the pilot of your plane. Carve out a time on Sunday (or Monday morning) when you are alone. What you are about to do is what a tennis pro does before she hits the ball. She keeps her eye on the ball and knows strategically where she wants it to go. She s not closing her eyes and hitting it, hoping for the best. You are no longer going to close your eyes and enter into your week putting out fires and reacting to the chaos around you. You are now strategically placing your time and energy where it counts. When you make a date with yourself to plan out the week, it s astounding how productive you can be and how much time, clarity, and results you gain. The biggest gift you ll receive from being the Pilot of your time is that you can close your computer at the end of the day, feel satisfied that you have utilized your time with laser focus, and you can savor your life.

4 daily action planner: your secret weapon to success When I created the Daily Action Planner, I had no idea how many s we would receive from people saying that this single tool helped revolutionize their careers and lives. It not only has helped people to organize the daily Gorgeous Chaos, but we have received letters and s from people saying that they have gotten on the Today Show, received accolades from Brad Pitt and Michael Jordan, landed book agents, and received major orders from Nordstroms. These are just some examples of the magic that can happen when you use your Daily Action Planner, which is simply a tool to empower you to take action in a fun way. Baby steps lead to quantum leaps. Your To-Do List (and checkmarks) tells the story of where you will be in a week, a year, and beyond. It lays the groundwork for your Daily Action Plan. Here are some Rules of the Road before we get started. With everything you write down on your list, do one of five things: 1. Check it off when it gets done 2. Re-write it until it gets done 3. Break it down into smaller steps 4. Address the bigger issue of why it s not getting done 5. Cross it off if you don t intend to do it THE THREE-MINUTE RITUAL Sometimes when you have something to do, you will have to re-write it daily before it actually gets done. It s how you hold yourself accountable. At the beginning of each day, take three minutes to flip through your notebook and see what still needs to get done, and re-write the task in your Daily Action Plan. You will also see the checkmarks you have made next to accomplished tasks and that will motivate you to do more. (You will also see some tasks that you have accomplished in the past day. Make sure to check those off!) This Three-Minute Ritual is the most important part of accountability and moving forward. Sometimes we write down a task that, over time, is no longer relevant. It s important to cross it off because you have addressed your agreement to yourself to get it done. If you simply ignore it and don t hold yourself accountable, this will become your habit. You will have hundreds of invisible strings hanging in mid-air until you cross them off. They are energy-stealers, so address them and cross them off.

5 This step is extremely important in the process of building trust in yourself. You won t have a bunch of unfulfilled promises in the air, and your word means something and carries weight. You have credibility not only to others but, most importantly, to yourself. Without our word, we have nothing upon which to build our goals and our dreams. Don't think you have time to write out your Daily Action Plan? You actually don't have time not to. Planning your week and days could save you up to 10 hours a week. In fact, doing the Manifest Method could save you five years. Don't wake up one day five years from now asking yourself where the time went. Spend it deliberately, consciously, and savor every moment! MAKING IT A HABIT Making dreams come true is a habit. It s like a muscle that can either get flabby or stronger daily. If you can t run a mile, you won t be able to run a marathon. It s the same with goals. If you don t accomplish the small strategic goals first, you won t have the muscles habits and skills to accomplish the bigger goals. When many small goals are accomplished, the manifestation of a big dream comes naturally and easily. Little daily actions are the lifeline to manifesting big dreams. When my team and I lead Manifest Method weekend retreats and workshops, some people are surprised at how fun this process is: create a 5-year vision, reverse-engineer it by breaking it down, create daily baby steps, check it off. You ll always find my Daily Action Planner next to my side at all times of the day. It s my secret weapon. Writing a task down and checking it off after it s accomplished creates an endorphin release of good energy, which perpetuates the feeling of success. Success begets success.

6 daily action plan components 1. BRAIN DUMP In the morning when you wake up, do a brain dump of everything you have to accomplish. Refer to your Weekly Pilot Plan. Go back to take a look at the things that you haven t done in the past few days and re-write what you need to do today. Check off the tasks you ve accomplished. If you are like me, you will become addicted to the endorphin release of checking things off. 2. THREE FROGS Write down up to three things that you know are the most important tasks to achieve that day. They re often the most difficult. I learned this concept from Eat That Frog! by Bryan Tracy. The idea is that if you know you have to eat a frog and keep it as the last thing to do, you will dread it all day. You may procrastinate and not even get it done so that you have to eat two frogs the next day. However, if you eat that frog at the beginning of the day, your day will be much more enjoyable knowing that you have accomplished the most difficult task. Some days, you may have only one frog to eat. Just make sure to eat one daily. 3. THREE SHIPS The concept of the ships came from Chellie Campbell s The Wealthy Spirit. In the old times, people would send out ships and wait for something to come back to them. Some ships would never come back because they would get wrecked in a storm. Some would come back with food. And some would come back with gold. The point is that if you don t send out ships, nothing can come back to you. Conversely, if you send something out on a daily basis, you increase your luck quotient. Whenever you send out a sales letter or , that is a ship. When you send out a book proposal, that is a ship. If you send out a lot of ships, something is bound to come back to you. It s important to send out ships on a daily basis. The ship you send out today may come back to you in a week or it may come back in five years. Send and wait patiently because something will come back. Fill out the Three Ships section with something small or big that you will send out. Thumb through your notebook, and always draw a huge star next to the ships that have come back to you. Make a big deal when it happens because you acknowledge that you have been manifesting.

7 The Three Ships section is what I call my Abundance Factor. I have sent out so many ships in my lifetime that many wonderful things are coming in daily. When a Rejection Ship comes back to me, I only spend a minute (okay, sometimes a day) being disappointed. I know that something is around the corner that is a bigger or better fit. 4. WATER CUP Time is like water. Either it runs through your fingers or you can hold it in a cup and drink from it. If you want to have a productive day and get things done, you must think of your schedule like the cup that s holding the water. Sitting down and planning your day for 10 minutes in the morning will end up saving you two hours everyday because you have it organized on paper and in your mind. Ultimately, it could save you years down the line because you have a systemized strategy of how you will get things done. Write down your schedule and stick to it as best you can. Things will inevitably get in your way, but at least you have a road map to keep yourself on course. One trick is to get an egg timer and put a cap on how much time you spend on each task. If you don t put a cap on a task, that task will actually drag on for much longer than it should. If you give yourself a cap of one hour to return s, it will take you one hour. If you don t put it in the schedule, it either won t get done or it will take you all afternoon. 5. SAVOR Remember to organize your day around one thing to savor. This is your non-negotiable Me Time : yoga, cooking, exercise, a massage, mani/pedi, shopping, etc. Take your pick you deserve it after all of your wonderful work!
