Window Select two points that window in the desired object to display within the full screen. Previous Displays the previous zoom or pan view All display the entire set limits and any objects outside drawing limits Extents display all drawing objects including objects outside drawing limits. Dynamic Calls up a dynamic zoom navigation tool, that allows the user to view an entire file and selecting zoom displays of varying sizes and locations Center allows user to select a center point of a zoom display. (follow the prompts at the command line) PAN Move drawing display laterally Scroll button Input base point and displacement LAYER [LA] -calls up the Layer properties manager UNITS -calls up the Units Dialogue Box. Set decimal units for engineering and metric drawings. Set units to feet and inches for architectural drawings. LTSCALE determine the scale ratio between the plot scale and the drawing actual size to obtain the LTSCALE setting. Example: A house plan will be plotted to the scale of: ¼ =1-0 (plot scale = actual size) This equation can also be stated in inch units as: ¼ =12 Factor the fraction to whole units to obtain a ratio relationship between plot scale and drawing full scale: 1 =48 or a ratio of 1:48 Use 48 as the benchmark scale factor for the correct appearance of drawing broken lines, annotation and dimension height. Note: If the plot scale changes, the LTSCALE has to be reset. The above assumes the Annotative settings are set off or 0. III. EDIT (Modify) COMMANDS ERASE TRIM -select objects to be removed and enter to confirm selection -requires an intersecting (coplanar), line object, not a block. 2

Select base point and stretch point. -recovers objects immediately after an ERASE Command -set segment length -divides line object into equal segments -select two lines. Allows setting of radius of fillet. R0 produces a corner. -will function as fillet, but with angular setting or chamfer distance. -requires a line object boundary IV. CAD PRODUCTION COMMANDS COPY -defaults to making multiple copies, as of AutoCAD MIRROR BHATCH ARRAY PEDIT MLINE OFFSET -select two point that define a fold line. -Hatch area must be fully enclosed. -select object(s) and set rectangular row and column distance, or center point, number, and rotation angle of polar arrays. -converts lines to plines. Edits plines. -produces custom multiple lines. -provide offset distance for line objects or select offset through point. V. ADVANCED PRODUCTION AND INQUIRY TOOL COMMANDS DIST ID AREA LIST - returns distance for two selected points. -returns x,y,z location of selected point. -returns area of selected points, selected polygon or circle objects. -returns object parameter settings (layer, color, linetype, etc) 3

4 SELECT BLOCK EXPLODE -select objects to place in a selection set for editing -combine objects for use at multiple locations in the same drawing file. Blocks should be created on layer 0, with color and linetype set to Bylayer. Blocks created with these settings will inherit the properties of the layer on which they are inserted. The default object snap point for blocks is INSert. -Returns blocks and dimensions to their line object geometry. Returns MTEXT to individual TEXT strings. VI. TEXT DRAWING ANNOTATION & DIMENSIONING -Produces text strings using keyboard and carriage return. The default object snap point for TEXT is INSert for each string. MTEXT STYLE -Produces text block using keyboard and carriage return. Includes options that are similar to a word processor. The default object snap point for MTEXT is INSert for the entire text block. calls up a dialogue box that allows for setting text fonts, text height, and text orientation. DDIM calls up the Dimension Style Manager DIM Set dimension mode Linear Continuous Aligned Baseline Leader Angular Dimensions are associative by default. Associative dimensions behave as single units and are dynamically updated when Stretched, Trimmed, EXtended, or SCaled. VII.
