1 CAYUGA COMMUNITY COLLEGE Division of Natural and Health Sciences, Mathematics and Technology ENGR 126 Computer Aided Design 4 Credit Hours COURSE DESCRIPTION Develop basic drafting skills using microcomputer CAD systems. Provide students with the skills necessary to develop detail drawings, including orthographic projection and the application of standard dimensioning practices. Drawing assignments utilize the CAD system operators to draw, modify, dimension and plot 2 dimensional part drawings. Two class hours / four lab hours weekly LEARNING OUTCOMES Upon completion of this course a student will be able to: Develop basic CAD skills for further study in the development of engineering drawings. Apply Orthographic projection principles to sketch part drawings. Apply Orthographic projection principles to create multi view drawings. Understand the basic principles of the Cad user interface, input methods, basic file management, drawing setup, layer commands, and basic CAD settings to standardize drawings. Use CAD operators/commands to draw, modify, and dimension 2 dimensional part drawing. Interpret and apply the ANSI standards for Multi-view drawings. Apply annotation, dimensions and tolerances to drawings in accordance with ANSI standards. Create auxiliary and section views. Produce printed CAD plots and prints for review drawings.
