Make sure you choose a range of different images to give yourself choice and a selection of easy to difficult. If you cannot print at home then please to your teacher.
Research the work by Mixed Media artist Nancy Lefko. You will need to produce an A4/A3 piece inspired by her work. Use a range of materials, lettering and images to replicate her style with your own piece of work. Student Examples
Research a few images by the artist Mark Powell and choose 1 image to produce a copy of one of his pieces in biro. Will you need to prepare a background first using old letters, coffee stain and stamps? Student Example
Hk 3- Kate Wilson Homework Research a few images by the artist Kate Wilson and choose 1 image to produce a copy of one of her pieces in biro or black pencil. Will you need to prepare a background first using coffee stain after you have done your outline? Student Examples

Hk 5 - Biro Cross Hatching/ Tone Practice Cross Hatching In Biro Practice cross hatching in biro to try and achieve a neat full range of tones. The more you practice this skill, the neater you will get. Remember that tones in biro can be achieved by: The amount of pressure applied, straight parallel lines, line distances and layers (further apart and less layers=light tones and closer together and more layers= dark tones).
Hk 6- Insect Moodboard Research a wide range of interesting insect images based on their shapes, patterns, colours and textures. Fill an A4/A3 piece of paper to create a moodboard. Vary the size of images and cut around some for a more eye catching layout.

Do you need to find a photo off the internet to help you get a more realistic outcome? Look carefully for shades, tones and highlights. Use orange to shade your reds into lighter tones- do not just use flat red and black. Whites are only used for highlights on the body and head. Layer colours softly.
Hk 7-Wasp/Bee study in pencil Produce a detailed and realistic study of a bee or wasp in coloured pencil. Tones must be blended, neat and include a variety of tones to make your drawing look three dimensional. Look carefully for shades, tones and highlights. Use orange to shade your darker tones into yellow- do not use just flat yellow and black. Whites are only used for highlights on the body and head. Layer colours softly. Student Examples
HK 8- Food Moodboard Research a wide range of interesting Food images based on their shapes, patterns, colours and textures. Fill an A4/A3 piece of paper to create a moodboard. Vary the size of images and cut around some for a more eye catching layout.

Hk 19- Animal drawing Produce a drawing of any animal of your choice, make sure its accurate and detailed. Make sure you show all tones are captured.
Review what techniques you have learnt. What were your favourite? What did you dislike about mixed media? Would you want to use these techniques in the future? How well did your final piece turn out? If you could start again, what would you do differently? Decorate this with some of the techniques learnt recently and present it in a creative manner.
Produce a drawing of a shiny object- you should be able to see dark and light tones for the piece to look shiny.
Produce a drawing of a can of your choice. Use the colours of your choice too. Think about the angle you draw it from and the style you do it.

Research scarab beetles. Find at least 5 images of beetles and an outline of a beetle. stick these on a page
Design your own scarab beetle. Research them first and draw the outline. Then add fun when adding colour. Think about colour and background
Choose an insect and think carefully about how you will do it. Try something new. For example golden tonal background and black stencil spray design or blue butterfly painted and cut out and stuck on a printed flower image/background. Green/white wash background and monoprint dragon fly on top

Collect a variety of Egyptian images to make a moodboard. You need a variety of images and sizes. Stick and add title.
Hk 42- Insect sections Find three images of insects that you find stylistically interesting; whether that be pattern, colour or shape. Neatly stick your 3 images down the left hand side. On the right hand side draw out enlarged sections lightly, ready to add a variety of medias the next week.
Hk- 43 Robotic Fish Create a surreal robotic fish- be creative and think about what metallic objects you can use as parts of the fishes body e.g. cogs, wires, nails etc. Make sure that you reference a real fish image for an accurate shape; but adapt parts to make it appear robotic. Your outline should be neat, light and smooth before you start to add a full range of blended tones/colour.
Produce your own 3D fish. Use any materials and think what aspects make a fish.
45- Pixlr Express Homework Before After Visit to create your own photo manipulated image. 49 Produce a study of a leaf or leaves. Use your Preferred media and make sure it shows blending of colours
Google Amy Kirkpatrick and look at her shell or bird work. Select a few images and print them. Do a small piece of art work based on her designs. Think carefully and make sure it is quality work.

Find some images of some shells. Choose one and draw this large. Add bright colours randomly and blend on purpose and leave patchy in places.
Find some images of sunflowers and choose one that shows a lot of detail. Print large and then cut and trim to leave a section. Produce a drawing of this using tonal pencil or black pen. See example opposite.
Take an object like the ones above or to the right. Draw the outline and instead of filling it in the colour it is leave it white and fill in around it. Use any colourpreferably a dark one. Orange. Pomegranate. Kiwi. Strawberry. Plant. Flower
Your exam is coming up and you have received the images that you are being given as inspiration. You now need to plan your exam time What images will you do? What media will you use? What colours will you use? What technique will you use? Provide a test of the image that you have chosen, play with colours, styles and techniques. Decide what you will do and bring the plan to the exam. Remember you can find your own image as long as you have had it approved by your teacher.
