If Mr. Wickham is already married, you narrowly escape and your turn ends now. If he is not married:. Keep this card. 2. Discard all the Reputation cards you have played on your Character. 3. Remove Mr. Wickham from the other suitors and place him next to you. He is now your only suitor, and unavailable to anyone else for the entire game. At the start of the Proposal Stage, if you have a Dowry of 3 or more, he proposes and you must say yes. If not, he will be bribed to propose if you roll a 5 or 6. Otherwise, you become an Old Maid. 4. This card may be discarded and Wickham returned to the suitors if you can gain back a Reputation of 3 or more, or discard 4 played character points. Steal your sister s bonnet Draw a random card from any other player s hand and play it on your Character immediately. Father s favourite
5 All players may choose to take the top Wit or Friendliness card from their Character and put it face down in their Cunning pile. It will count as Cunning points from now on. Your suitor suggests that modesty is among your many perfections. Keep this card to add to all proposal rolls. OR Obstinate, headstrong girl! Your suitor has many reasons for marrying... All players may choose to take the top Wit or Friendliness card from their Character and put it face down in their Cunning pile. It will count as Cunning points from now on. It is usual to reject the addresses of a man when he first applies for your favor. Keep this card for a second chance with a suitor you ve turned down during the proposal stage. PRACTICE the PIANO FORTE Prepare to play a piece at the ball this evening. Roll the die. 2: You don t play well, and for far too long. Your turn ends now. 3 4: A satisfactory performance, and you graciously give other ladies a chance to exhibit. Draw & play Character Card. 5 6: Outstanding performance! You are asked for an encore. Draw 2 & play 2 Character Cards. You attempt to make your rival blush by mentioning the militia.
6 READ A LETTER Roll the die. MARY KING COMES TO TOWN. If Mr. Wickham has already eloped, no change takes place. If he is still a suitor, roll the die. 2: Your sister has eloped! You must return home immediately. Your turn ends now. 4: No marriage takes place. Wickham remains a suitor. 3 4: Your sister admits her former friends have deceived her. Draw & play Character Card. 5 6: The couple is married. Remove Mr. Wickham from the eligible suitors. Regardless of any outcome: 5 6: Your Aunt admits your suitor has saved your family s reputation. Draw 2 & play 2 Character Cards. Discover YOUR True Nature You read a letter that reveals your prejudices. You realize you do not know yourself. Discard your top Wit, Beauty, Reputation, and Friendliness cards from your Character. Draw 4 new Character cards from the deck and play them all immediately. Desperate TO Marry Draw 2 Character Cards. Choose any two cards from your hand and place them immediately facedown in the pile with your Cunning cards. They will count as Cunning until the end of the game. You sew yourself a new gown. Play this card like a Character card for: You read the newest novel. Play this card like a Character card for: BEAUTY WIT You dance with all the officers. Play this card like a Character card for: Your family throws a ball, to the delight of all. Play this card like a Character card for: You flatter your suitor. Keep this card for: FRIENDLINESS REPUTATION CUNNING You aggressively pursue a suitor who has recently been rejected by your friend.

Belle of the Ball Your performance at the piano forte outshines all of your rivals. top Reputation card or a random Your sister elopes! Your chances of a good marriage are materially damaged by association. You must keep this card. You have - on all proposal rolls. this card can remove a proposal or elopement, but not prevent them. You decide marriage is not for you. If you keep this card, you will not marry, but you will get +5 points to your Old Maid score. IF NOT: Your rival s plot to steal your suitor fails.
8 If you are Georgiana, or have eloped, discard this card and draw a new event card. for everyone else: Mr. Darcy proposes out of the blue. If you accept, keep this card and move Darcy next to your Character. Unless an Event Card has you elope, you are engaged for the rest of the game, and then marry automatically for a total of 9 points. IF YOU REJECT HIM: Draw, play Character Card. Tea Time You invite all players over for tea. During Tea Time, players may trade Character Cards from their hands. This must be done in a ladylike fashion! When Tea Time is over, you may: Missing Suitor Mr. Bingley leaves for London. Place this card over him. He is unavailable until a party card is drawn, when the player who draws the party card may choose to remove it. If Mr. Bingley is in London during the proposal stage, he is unavailable to everyone. Visit Pemberley If you are Georgiana, discard this card and draw a new event card. for everyone else: You visit Mr. Darcy s estate. Your opinion of him increases. If you keep this card, and accept a proposal from Darcy (surprise or otherwise), you will receive a total of 6 Marriage Points. Gamble at Cards Gamble at Cards Draw Character Card now.
