2 Class Policies Full payment is due upon registration. You can register and pay by phone using a credit card. Refunds will be issued only with 48 hour notice. The class fee covers all tools and materials provided in our classes. Early Registration is encouraged as classes have both minimum and maximum registration requirements. Classes are limited to 8 students, unless otherwise specified. Minimum age for classes is 9 years old, unless otherwise specified Classes will take a break for shopping, stretching and snacking. Want a night away from the kids? Could your office use some off-site bonding? For $20 a person (plus cost of beads) you and your group will get 2 hours of fun! Choose what you would like to make and we ll help you with the rest. You will be guided through color choices, design and construction, and finish with a great new piece of jewelry. Although we don t have a suggested number for adult gatherings, we recommend you have a bead budget per person to keep costs under control. The staff will help everyone stay within the designated budget. Feel free to bring treats and drinks, but please let staff know so party activities can be planned accordingly. There is a minimum of 5 and maximum of 8 people for Ladies Night Out parties. PRIVATE INSTRUCTION Unable to fit a particular class into your schedule? Don t see the class you re looking for? Prefer to learn in a private setting? Private instruction is now available for those who require more flexibility in scheduling. If you prefer to learn one-on-one, want to focus on a particular skill or technique, or enjoy a special class for just friends/family, Beadworld instructors are happy to schedule private or semi-private classes at your convenience. 3 BASIC BEAD STRINGING - $25 Instructor: Mariella Level: Beginner Prerequisite: None Learn how to design and assemble basic necklaces and bracelets. We will cover various stringing materials, findings and tools required to complete a quality piece of professional jewelry. No experience needed, just a desire to have some beaded fun with awesome people! 4 Stringing Tasseled Mala Necklace - $40 Instructor: Nicky Level: Beginner Prerequisite: None Known as a Buddhist rosary, this Tibetan-style mala has been used for centuries by Buddhist monks to count their sutras. These tasseled necklaces are also popular with non-buddhist fashionistas for their charm and casual style. This class will show you how to assemble your mala and also how to make that signature tassel. Tuesday, March 29th MULTI-STRAND NECKLACES- $35 Instructor: Nicky Level: Any Prerequisite: None Multi-strand projects can be tricky. There are many things to consider, like bead size, thread length, and how to choose the right dividers. In this class we will answer all those little questions and solve all those little problems that have had you scratching your head. Friday, March 11th Bead & Cord Original LOOMED WRAP BRACELET - $30 Instructor: Nicky/Mariella Level: Beginner Prerequisite: None Make the original loomed wrap bracelet, the one you ve seen in upscale boutiques and catalogs. We ll show you how the pros do it. With the jig, bracelets are made in half the time and with none of the hassles of the clipboard method. Class price includes the leather, beads and a button. Sunday, February 28th Saturday, April 23rd FASHION MACRAMÉ- $35 Instructor: Nicky Level: Any Prerequisite: None Learn basic macramé and make these fashionable bracelets. We will finish a bracelet in class, so you ll learn to add the findings for a professional look. Learn to form your own eyepins with the basic loop, and use this skill to create earrings, bracelets, necklaces and pendants. Be prepared for tons of wired fun! This class covers wiring teardrop and briolette shapes, and making a bail for a larger stone or pendant. Saturday, January 23rd Sunday, February 21st Friday, March 25th 6-9pm Saturday, April 16th WIRE III - ADVANCED WIRE WORKING - $45 6 NEW SKILLS Instructor: Christina Level: Advanced Prerequisite: Wire II or equivalent Utilize all your wire skills and build new ones, including: forming, bending, braiding, twisting and coiling. Work with heavier gauges of wire, texturing techniques, hammers, jigs, files, mandrels and other wire working tools. Feel free to bring your unfinished wire projects, any stones, wire, or beads you d like to incorporate into a project, and your imagination. Playful and with tons of movement, these earrings lend themselves to a myriad of variations and styles. Sunday, January 24th Tuesday, March 8th 6-9pm bead wrapped wire earrings- $25 Instructor: Mariella Level: Intermediate Prerequisite: Wire II Make a beautiful pair of wire and bead wrapped earrings. You will learn some interesting new wire techniques to make this fashionable pair of earrings that can be applied to many different styles. Monday, March 7th 6-8pm Beadweaving BEGINNING PEYOTE STITCH - $25 Instructor: Nicky Level: Any Prerequisite: None Easy and inspiring, this is a great class for the aspiring seed bead artist. Familiarize yourself with different beading threads, needles and a variety of seed beads to make a peyote bracelet in the even-count. Then we ll teach you the modern, odd-count method and how to make and follow a pattern. Tubular peyote beads are also covered. Ages 12+ only. Sunday, February 7th

7 Beadweaving FLAT PEYOTE SAMPLER - $35 Instructor: Nicky Level: Any Prerequisite: Beginning Peyote Like an appetizer plate, this class is designed to give you a taste of a multitude of peyote techniques. Start with single peyote, then 2-up peyote, the more modern technique for handling odd-count peyote (much easier). We will incorporate various bead sizes, and how to add pico edge and the opportunities that presents. Sunday, March 20th Bead Crochet- $45 Instructor: Nicky Level: Any Prerequisite: None In this two part class you will learn to crochet beads into a tube for bracelets and necklaces. Part one is to learn the crochet technique. Bead crochet is not difficult, but it is a lot to absorb in one class. We want you to be successful so we have split the class in two. You will be given time to finish the crocheting at your leisure. In part two, a week later, you will learn to professionally finish the bracelet. Saturday, February 13th Tuesday, March 15th FOLLOW-UP (FREE WITH PAID BEAD CROCHET CLASS) Complete your crocheted piece in this finishing class. This session is optional. Saturday, March 12th 11-2 Just for Kids MACRAMÉ FOR KIDS - $20 Instructor: Mariella Level: Beginner Prerequisite: None Bring the kids for this no school day project class! Kids will learn the simple art of macramé and make their very own bracelet in this two-hour class. For ages 8+ Monday, January 18th 11-1pm BRAIDED BRACELET FOR KIDS - $20 Instructor: Mariella Level: Beginner Prerequisite: Must know how to braid Another of our no school day projects. Kids will learn to make this easy and charming little two-wrap bracelet. It s one of our favorite projects and we re sure it will be theirs, too! For ages 8+ Monday, February 15th 11-1pm Birthday Parties Host your child s birthday party at Beadworld! Party guests will have the full attention of our staff members to assist them in creating a personalized necklace. Fee is $15.00 per child, plus a bead budget, we recommend $5.00 per child and the staff can help them stay on budget. (Limited Availability) INTRODUCTION TO THE BUTANE TORCH - $25 BALLED END HEADPINS Instructor: Christina Level: Any Prerequisite: None This class is designed for those who want to add another personal element to their work. The torch is unintimidating and easy to work with. Students will create balled headpins with fine silver, sterling silver and copper. This class covers butane torch safety and basic equipment. Please do not wear very loose clothing or open toed shoes to class. This class for ages 16+ only. Under 18 needs a waiver signed by parents or legal guardians. Sunday, January 24th Saturday, March 12th Introduction to The Jeweler s Saw - $25 Cutting and Piercing Metals Instructor: Christina Level: Any Prerequisite: None Add a new dimension to your work by creating your own simple metal shapes with and without negative space. This class introduces students to new skills and tools, including the jeweler s saw, metal shears, jeweler s files and piercing tools. In class you will learn methods for cutting basic shapes from metal sheet or blanks and how to manufacture your own jump rings. You ll also learn finishing techniques to easily incorporate these pieces into jewelry. Sunday, February 28th Introduction to soldering - $35 Instructor: Kristin Level: Any Prerequisite: None Soldering is much simpler than you think and can diversify your jewelry design. In this introductory class you will learn about different types of solder, tools, and soldering safety, make closed jump rings and join multiple metal pieces together. Please do not wear loose fitting clothes or open-toed shoes to class and wear your hair pulled back. This class is for ages 16+ only. Under 18 needs a waiver signed by parents or legal guardians. (Limited Availability) Riveting I - $35 Stacked and Riveted Earrings Instructor: Christina Level: Beginner Prerequisite: Wire I or Equivalent Riveting is a great option for attaching metals without solder or glue. Learn how to layer, dap and rivet pre-cut metal shapes with a standard TACK rivet of any size to complete a pair of earrings.you will also learn how to create a versatile connector finding with heavy gauge wire and techniques and tools for cutting and piercing repurposed tin. Saturday, January 9th Riveting II - $40 Mixed Metals Riveted Pendants Instructor: Christina Level: Intermediate Prerequisite: Riveting I The cold connection is the perfect alternative to attaching metals without solder or glue. Learn techniques for riveting metal using wire, tacks and tubing, and why you might use one method over another. You can choose from a wide variety of metal components in class (or bring something from home to work with) to create a work of wearable art. Sunday, February 7th 10:30-2:30pm Riveting III - $45 Riveting on the curve - the riveted cuff Instructor: Christina Level: Advanced Prerequisite: Riveting II This is a versatile metalsmithing skill to add to your repertoire. You ll begin by texturing metals, as well as cutting, piercing and forming flat, found objects such as decorative tin to create a layered cuff bracelet of your own design. Feel free to bring any tins or flat found objects you d like to work with. Saturday, March 19th 10:30-4:30pm Upcycled Tin Earrings - $35 Instructor: Christina Level: Beginner Prerequisite: None In this incredibly fun and easy earring class, students will repurpose metal containers once used to store cookies, tea, coffee, tobacco, candies, etc., into colorful, light-weight earrings. Students will learn how to properly deconstruct a tin, cut, pierce, file, and connect shapes into one of a kind earrings. Tools and Tins will be available for use in class but please bring any from home you would like to work with. Please bring a pair of inexpensive gardening gloves. Saturday, January 30th 10:30-2:30

(Limited Availability) ETCHING i - $45 easy METAL ETCHING Instructor: Christina Level: Any Prerequisite: None Learn to transfer hand drawn and rubber stamp images onto the surface of copper or brass. A low-tech solution will be used to etch the design onto the surface of the metal to create a three-dimensional image. Incorporate the pieces you create in class into pendants and earrings. This process is very simple and easy to replicate at home. Feel free to bring rubber stamps you d like to work with, and please wear play clothes. Instructor: Christina Saturday, February 6th 10:30-3:30pm Etching II - $45 Level: Intermediate Prerequisite: Etching I Expand your etching skills to include copier transfers and combining image transfer methods. Students will also learn double-sided etching, different resists and additives, overlays and over-etching. Expand the possibilities of basic metal etching with this high energy, intermediate level class. Feel free to bring rubber stamps you d like to work with and/or laser copied images on glossy photo paper or photo transfer sheet. Wear play clothes. Sunday, March 6th 10:30-4:30pm Etching III - $45 PENDANT & EARRING SET Instructor: Christina Level: Intermediate/Advanced Prerequisite: Etching II In this etching class, students will further their etching skills by learning to transfer images onto brass bullet shells. A variety of transfer methods will be covered as well as different etching solutions. You ll leave class with a unique pendant and set of earrings perfect for gifts or your own wardrobe! Please wear play clothes. Saturday, April 9th 10:30-4:30pm ETCHED LADDER NECKLACE - $45 Instructor: Christina Level: Intermediate Prerequisite: Wire I or equivalent This is a modern, fun necklace that is easy to create and wear. In this class, students will learn how to draw or stamp images onto copper or brass blanks. You ll learn a simple, low tech method to etch several components that you ll link together with chain and jump rings. This is a user friendly process that is very simple to replicate at home. We will cover several tips and tricks to ensure that everything you create looks clean and professional. Saturday, March 5th Tuesday, April 10th Cut Away Metal Cuff - $40 Instructor: Christina Level: Advanced Prerequisite: Introduction to Butane Torch or equivalent (must be comfortable using a butane torch) FOLD FORMING METAL - LEAVES - $45 Instructor: Christina Level: Intermediate/Advanced Prerequisite: Introduction to the Butane Torch (must be comfortable using a butane torch) and Wire I or equivalent Use your basic torch and metal skills to grow a garden of unique pieces. In this fundamental metals class, students will learn the versatile and extremely fun skill of fold forming. Turn flat metal shapes into textured, dimensional leaf components for jewelry. In class, students will learn how to anneal metal and use simple texturing, patinas and finishing techniques to create a necklace, bracelet or pair of earrings. This class is for ages 16+ only. Under 18 needs a waiver signed by parents or legal guardians. Sunday, January 31st 10:30-3:30pm Forge a heavy metal cuff bracelet with unique negative space design elements. In this advanced metals class students will learn to draw, cut, file, texture and form a cuff bracelet from sheet metal. A variety of methods for creating the cut out design will be applied and finished with basic metal patinas. This modern yet tribal piece lends itself well to many variations. This class is for ages 16+ only. Under 18 needs a waiver signed by parents or legal guardians. Sunday, March 20th 10:30-3:30pm Ruffled heart pendants - $40 Instructor: Christina Level: Intermediate/Advanced Prerequisite: Introduction to Butane Torch or equivalent (must be comfortable using a butane torch) Create one-of-a-kind ruffled heart pendants in this easy metals forming class. Learn how to anneal metal using a butane micro torch and form dimensional, ruffled hearts from copper blanks or sheets. You ll also learn easy, fun texturing, patina coloring and finishing techniques to create your pendants. This class is for ages 16+ only. Under 18 needs a waiver signed by parents or legal guardians. 13 Metalsmithing TEXTURING METAL COMPONENTS - $40 Instructor: Christina Level: Intermediate Prerequisite: Introduction to Butane Torch or equivalent (must be comfortable using a butane torch) Learn to create a variety of surface textures on wire and sheet metal in this metals class. Work with hammers, stamps, embossing folders, kitchen tools and powertools to make surface designs on any metal. Create earrings, pendants and background pieces to incorporate into your style. Feel free to bring any metals you d like to play with. This class is for ages 16+ only. Under 18 needs a waiver signed by parents or legal guardians. APPLIED PATINAS FOR METALS - $45 Instructor: Christina Level: Intermediate Prerequisite: None Saturday, February 20th 10:30-3:30pm This patina class will teach a variety or methods for applying surface color to filigree components and textured metals. It s a fun, easy way to create unique effects ranging from subtle to striking. Use alcohol inks, Gilder s paste, Vintaj patinas, colored pencils, oil pastels and more. Sealants and preservation methods will also be covered. All materials are provided but feel free to bring any textured pieces you would like to patina. Saturday, March 5th 10:30-4:30pm Copper Pipe Pendants - $45 Instructor: Kristin Level: Intermediate Prerequisite: Introduction to Soldering AND Resin I (or previous experience with 2 part epoxy resin) These pendants are amazingly versatile in their design. In class we will build on some of your basic soldering and metalsmithing skills by making a few different types of copper pipe pendants. Then, we will decorate and fill the pendants using some more advanced resin and epoxy clay skills. The pieces made in class will need to cure for 72 hours and can be picked up at the store as soon as 3 days after the class. Wear play clothes. This class is for ages 16+ only. Wednesday, March 30th 11-4pm HEAT PATINAS - $40 Instructor: Christina Level: Intermediate Prerequisite: Introduction to Butane Torch or equivalent (must be comfortable using a butane torch) Learn to use a butane torch to paint copper and brass with flame to create stunning and vibrant surface coloration. A variety of heat additives, as well as flux-based and solvent-based patinas will also be covered. This class is for ages 16+ only. Under 18 needs a waiver signed by parents or legal guardians. (Limited Availability) RESIN I - $45 RESIN PICTURE PENDANTS Instructor: Kristin Level: Any Prerequisite: None Use epoxy resin to create custom picture pendants. We will cover techniques for filling bezels and doming tiles using photographs, decorative paper, printed images and other 2D objects. The pieces made in class will need to cure for 72 hours and can be picked up at the store as soon as 3 days after the class. Wear play clothes. Bringing printed materials or photographs to practice with is optional. Tuesday, January 19th 4-7pm Sunday, February 21st Saturday, March 26th RESIN FOLLOW-UP (FREE WITH PAID RESIN I CLASS) Resin can be temperamental. Stop by for this optional troubleshooting session to learn finishing and problemsolving techniques to put an end to those resin woes. Tuesday, January 26th 5-6pm Sunday, February 28th 3-4pm Saturday, April 2nd, 11-12pm RESIN II - $55 EMBEDDING, CASTING & MOLD MAKING Instructor: Kristin Level: Intermediate Prerequisite: Resin I or equivalent (must be comfortable mixing and using 2 part epoxy resin) In this fast paced class you will learn a wide variety of new intermediate and advanced skills that will unleash your imagination, including mold making and casting. The pieces made in class will need to cure for 72 hours and can be picked up at the store as soon as 3 days after the class. Wear play clothes. Sunday, April 17th, 11-4pm RESIN FOLLOW-UP (FREE WITH PAID RESIN II CLASS) Resin can be temperamental. Sunday, April 24th, 11-1pm COLD ENAMELING - $35 Instructor: Kristin Level: Any Prerequisite: None Cold enameling adds lasting color and depth to your jewelry pieces. The effect is like glass enameling, but without the glass powders, torch or kiln. The process is quick, easy to learn, and opens up new creative possibilities like custom colors. Mix custom colors and add special effects to make beads, charms, pendants and buttons that simulate the look of organic materials such as bone, horn and stone. You will learn about basic chainmaille tools, materials and techniques in this class. Wednesday, February 17th 12-3pm Wednesday, April 6th 12-3pm stepping stone earrings - $30 Instructor: Mac Level: Beginner Prerequisite: None This class will teach you the basics of making a unique pair of custom chainmaille earrings.
