What s In Your Box Size 11 seed beads Blue iris Czech faceted ovals Czech table cut beads some are rectangle, and some are square 6mm and 8mm Czech pearls mix 8 for each of 3 dangles 2x3mm Chinese rondelles 3 copper chain 1 for necklace dangle, and 2 x 1 for earring dangles 2 copper ball & hitch clasps 8 copper crimps 2 copper earwires 24 copper headpins 2 copper jump rings 10 ft spool of SoftFlex.019 Satin Silver beading wire I had a bunch of folks contact me after the first Inspiration box, wishing I had included some instructions on what to do with all the beady goodness. So I decided to indulge them! While I will include a project sheet for each month s box going forward, if you want to go your own way with making a unique to you design, I encourage it! This box can now be used either way. The projects in this month s box include a necklace, bracelet, and a pair of earrings. Let s start with the necklace! Sept 2018 Inspiration Project Box Page 1

Step 1 Create the necklace dangle Cut off about 1 (25mm) of chain.

Open a jump ring using two pairs of pliers and attach it to the top link of the chain. Close it securely.

Put an 8mm bead on the headpin temporarily, and then cut the wire flush across the top.

Using chain nose or flat nose pliers carefully twist open the loop of a pearl dangle and attach to one of the links

2 Step 1 Create the necklace dangle Cut off about 1 (25mm) of chain. You ll use the reminder of the chain to make the two earring dangles. Open a jump ring using two pairs of pliers and attach it to the top link of the chain. Close it securely. Thread one pearl on to each headpin and make a simple loop close to the top of the pearl using round nose pliers. Trim the excess using flush cutters. Have trouble cutting off just the right amount of wire to make your simple loop? ME TOO! Until I learned this trick! Put an 8mm bead on the headpin temporarily, and then cut the wire flush across the top. Remove the 8mm bead and voila! There s the perfect amount of wire for your loop! Using chain nose or flat nose pliers carefully twist open the loop of a pearl dangle and attach to one of the links of the length of chain. Twist the loop closed again. Repeat to add pearls along the length of the chain. Place the larger pearls at the top and the smaller pearls towards the bottom for a graduated effect. Make sure you re attaching the pearls to both sides of the chain and spacing them out for a full, fluffy effect. Sept 2018 Inspiration Project Box Page 2

3 Step 2 Create long necklace length Cut two lengths of Soft Flex.019 (Medium weight) beading wire. The first should be 3 longer than you want the shorter of the two strands to sit. The second should be 4 longer than the first strand. Take into account the length of the clasp when you calculate the length of your necklace. Take the longer of the two strands, and without attaching the clasp on either end, string on the jump ring of the dangle. We ll be stringing the beads on either side so the dangle is centered and you can judge the length of your necklace as you go we ll add the clasp last. Add a bead stopper or paper clip to one end to ensure your beads don t slide off! Pick up 1 x Oval Fire Polish bead and 8 x seed beads. Repeat this pattern to add 8 Oval Fire Polish beads. Using the second side of the beading wire, repeat adding 1 x Oval Fire Polish bead and 8 x seed beads. Repeat this pattern to add 8 Oval Fire Polish beads. Push all of the beads to the center of the wire. On each end of the necklace add seed beads until you have an equal amount on each side and the necklace fits you. On one end of the wire, string a crimp bead and one half of the clasp. Go back through the crimp bead and tighten the wire. Crimp the crimp bead. Repeat on the second half of the beading wire. 4 Step 3 Create the shorter necklace length Using the shorter of the two lengths of beading wire, string 1 x Table Cut bead and 5 x seed beads. Repeat until you have added 14 Table Cut beads. Push all of the beads to the center of the wire. On each end of the necklace add seed beads until you have an equal amount on each side and the necklace fits you. On one end of the wire, string a crimp bead and one half of the clasp. Go back through the crimp bead and tighten the wire. Crimp the crimp bead. Repeat on the second half of the beading wire. Enjoy wearing your necklace! Step 4 Make the bracelet Cut two lengths of beading wire that are 4 longer than you want your finished length to be. Take into account your clasp as you calculate this length. On one end of a wire, string a crimp bead and one half of the clasp. Go back through the crimp bead and tighten the wire. Crimp the crimp bead. String the 2x3mm Chinese rondelles on the wire. If you need extra length (I did!) you can fill in with the extra table cut beads and facetted ovals. I strung a facetted oval, a Chinese rondelle, a table cut bead, a Chinese rondelle, a facetted oval, and one last Chinese rondelle before ending off the strand. As before, secure the end of the wire to the second half of your clasp with a crimp. Sept 2018 Inspiration Project Box Page 4

5 Attach the second length of wire to one half of the clasp. String: 1 seed bead 1 Oval Fire Polish bead 1 seed bead 1 Table Cut bead Repeat adding those bead until you have added a total of 6 Table Cut beads. Then add 1 Oval Fire Polish bead and 1 seed bead. If you need additional length, you may have to restring with 2 seed beads between each larger bead, or finish off with a length of seed beads like I did in the photo. Once you have the length desired, secure the end of the wire to the second half of your clasp with a crimp. Step 5 Make the earrings Repeat the instructions for making the necklace dangle in Step 1 on page 2. Make two dangles. Attach them to the earwires.
