2 Class Policies: Full payment is due upon registration. You can register and pay by phone using a credit card. Refunds will be issued only with 48 hour cancellation notice. Tools & practice materials are provided for all of our classes! Early Registration is encouraged as classes have both minimum and maximum registration requirements. Unless otherwise specified, classes are limited to 8 students. Minimum age for all classes is 9 yeas old, unless otherwise specified Classes will take a break for shopping, stretching and snacking. Feel free to bring lunch or snacks. Samples for each class can be found in the cases in the store. Receive a 10% discount on all purchases the day of the class! Ladies Night Out Want a night (or day) away from the kids? Could your office team use some off-site bonding? Beadworld has just what you re looking for! Host your next gathering at Beadworld. For $20 a person (plus cost of beads) you and your group will get 2 hours of fun! Choose what you would like to make and we ll help you with the rest. You will be guided through color choices, design and construction, and finish with a great new piece of jewelry. Although we don t have a suggested bead budget for adult gatherings, we recommend you have a bead budget per person to keep costs under control. The staff will help everyone stay within the designated budget. Feel free to bring treats and/or drinks, but be sure to let the staff know so that party activities can be planned accordingly. There is a minimum of 5 and maximum of 8 people for Ladies Night Out parties. Birthday Parties Host your child s birthday party at Beadworld before, during or after official store hours. Party guests will have the full attention of one or two staff members to assist them in creating a necklace for two hours. We recommend setting a per child bead budget, $5.00 seems to work well, and staff can help them stay within that limit. Fee is $15.00 per child plus your bead budget. Feel free to bring treats, drink and/or gifts to open, but be sure to let the staff know so that party activities can be planned accordingly. Children must be 8 or older. Minimum of 5 children and a maximum of 10.

3 Stringing BASIC BEAD STRINGING - $25 Instructor: Mariella Level: Beginner Prerequisite: None Learn how to design and assemble basic necklaces and bracelets. We will cover various stringing materials, findings and tools required to complete a quality piece of professional jewelry. No experience needed, just a desire to have some beaded fun with awesome people! Saturday, May 2nd Friday, May 22nd Saturday, June 13th Friday, July 3rd Saturday, July 18th Friday, august 7th BEAD KNOTTING - $25 Instructor: Nicky Level: Motivated Beginner Prerequisite: None Knotting is a surprisingly simple and straight-forward skill. You ll learn traditional knotting between beads as well as spaced knotting for the floating bead effect. You can bring beads and a clasp or choose beads during the break. Either way, we ll help you select the right size stringing material. Friday, May 29th Sunday, June 28th Sunday, august 16th TASSELED MALA NECKLACE - $40 Instructor: Nicky Level: Beginner Prerequisite: None Known as a Buddhist rosary, this Tibetan-style mala has been used for centuries by Buddhist monks to count their sutras. These tasseled necklaces are also popular with non-buddhist fashionistas for their charm and casual style. 4 Wire Working WIRE I - BEGINNING WIRE WORKING - $25 THE BASIC LOOP Instructor: Mariella Level: Beginner Prerequisite: None Perfect for beginners interested in learning the fundamentals of working with wire, findings and tools. You will learn how to create your own eyepins with the basic loop. With these techniques you will be able to create earrings, bracelets, necklaces and pendants. Be prepared for tons of wired fun! Saturday, May 9th Friday, June 5th Saturday, June 20th Thursday, July 2nd 2-5pm Saturday, July 25th 10:30-1:30pm Friday, august 14th WIRE II - WIRE WRAPPING - $25 WRAPPING STANDARD AND TOP DRILLED BEADS Instructor: Christina Level: Intermediate Prerequisite: Wire I or equivalent using the fundamentals of Beginning Wire Working, you ll advance to wire wrapped loops. This class covers wiring teardrop and briolette shapes, and making a bail for a larger stone or pendant. Sunday, May 17th 10:30-1:30pm Saturday, June 27th 10:30-1:30pm Wednesday, July 15th 10:30-1:30pm Friday, July 31st Sunday, august 2nd 1-4pm WIRE III - ADVANCED WIRE WORKING - $45 6 NEW SKILLS Instructor: Christina Level: advanced Prerequisite: Wire II or equivalent In this class you will utilize all of your wire skills and build new ones, including: forming, bending, braiding, twisting and coiling. We will cover working with heavier gauges of wire, texturing techniques, hammers, jigs, files, mandrels and other wire working tools. You ll begin work on an advanced project of your choice utilizing your new skills. Feel free to bring any unfinished wire projects that have you stumped or wire design problems you need help with. Bring any stones, wire, or beads you d like to incorporate into a project, and your imagination. Sunday, June 14th 10:30-4:30pm Saturday, august 22nd 10:30-4:30pm

5 Wire Working WIRE WRAPPED RINGS - $40 Instructor: Mariella Level: Intermediate Prerequisite: Wire II or equivalent Learn how to create fun and fashionable wire wrapped rings, perfect for summer! You will learn to work with heavier gauge wire, ring mandrels, files and other tools to create a quality piece of jewelry. Saturday, June 27th 11-2 Instructor: Christina THE ALTERED KEY - $45 COILING & BEZELING WITH WIRE Level: Intermediate /advanced Prerequisite: Wire II or equivalentent The skeleton key has become a fashion jewelry staple. In this advanced wire class you will learn how to go beyond the basic key on a chain idea and incorporate coiling, wire weaving and wire bezelling techniques to create a stunning, personalized necklace. Please bring a key you would like to work with (a variety of keys are available le in the store). Saturday, July 11th 10:30-4:30pm Beadweaving BOHEMIAN LOOMED BRACELET - $25 Instructor: Kristin Level: any Prerequisite: None This is a great class for anyone ages 9 and up. Learn how to set up a loom and make these simple bohemian loomed bracelets. These are quick, fun, versatile and oh, so fashionable. Saturday, June 6th 1-4pm Thursday, July 23rd BEGINNING PEYOTE STITCH - $25 Instructor: Nicky Level: any Prerequisite: None This is a great class for the aspiring seed bead artist. Familiarize yourself with the different beading threads, needles and a variety of seed beads. You will l make a peyote bracelet in the even-count and we ll teach you the modern, oddcount method and how to follow a pattern. Optional tubular peyote beads are also covered. 6 INTRODUCTION TO THE BUTANE TORCH - $25 BALLED END HEADPINS Instructor: Christina Level: any Prerequisite: None If you make jewelry with wire, you use plenty of headpins. This class is designed for those who want to reduce costs on findings and add another personal element to their work. The torch used in class is unintimidating and easy to work with. Students will learn the most basic metalsmithing technique for creating balled headpins with fine silver, sterling silver and copper. This class covers safe usage of a butane torch, basic equipment and the least toxic chemicals needed (some are simple household products) along with pertinent chemical safety considerations. Please do not wear very loose clothing or open toed shoes to class. INTRODUCTION TO SOLDERING - $35 Instructor: Kristin Level: any Prerequisite: None Saturday, May 16th 10:30-1:30pm Sunday, July 5th 10:30-1:30pm Soldering is so much simpler than you think and can truly diversify your jewelry design. In this introductory class you will learn all about the different types of solder, tools, and soldering safety. We will practice the two most common solder joints used in jewelry by making closed jump rings, custom chain, and joining two or more metal pieces together. Please do not wear loose fitting clothes or open toed shoes to class. s. also, if applicable, please wear your hair up or pulled back. Sunday, May 17th Thursday, June 18th Saturday, July 25th Sunday, august 16th Metalsmithing COPPER PIPE PENDANTS - $45 Instructor: Kristin Level: Intermediate Prerequisite: Introduction to Soldering and Resin I (or previous experience with 2 part epoxy resin) These pendants are amazingly versatile in their design. In class we will build on some of your basic soldering and metalsmithing skills by making a few different types of copper pipe pendants. Then, we will decorate and fill the pendants using some more advanced resin and epoxy clay skills. Please do not wear loose fitting clothes or open toed shoes to class. also, if applicable, please wear your hair up or pulled back. The pieces made in class will need to cure for 72 hours and can be picked up at the store as soon as 3 days after the class. Sunday, July 26th 11-4pm STAMPED PENDANTS & CHARMS - $45 Instructor: Mariella Level: Intermediate Prerequisite: Wire I or equivalent Nothing is more amazing than creating personalized, stamped jewelry. Create dimples in metal blanks to set flat-back rhinestones, giving your piece a splash of sparkle. We will also cover basic riveting, textures and patinas. Saturday, July 11th 11-5pm

7 Metalsmithing RIVETING I - $35 STACKED AND RIVETED EARRINGS Instructor: Christina Level: Beginner Prerequisite: Wire I or Equivalent Riveting is a great option for attaching metals without solder or glue. In this class you ll learn how to layer, dap and rivet pre-cut metal shapes with a standard TACK rivet of any size. You will also learn how to create a versatile connector finding with heavy gauge wire and techniques and tools for cutting and piercing repurposed tin. You will complete a pair of earrings in class. Saturday, June 7th 10:30-2:30pm RIVETING II - $40 MIXED METALS RIVETED PENDANTS Instructor: Christina Level: Intermediate Prerequisite: Riveting I The cold connection is the perfect alternative to attaching metals out solder or glue. In this class you will learn several different techniques for riveting metal using wire, tacks and tubing, and why you might use one with- method over another. You can choose from a wide variety of metal components in class (or bring anything from home you d like to work with) to create a small sculptural work of wearable art. This is a versatile metal smithing skill to add to your repertoire. Sunday, July 26th 10:30-3:30pm CUT AWAY METAL CUFF - $40 Instructor: Christina Level: advanced Prerequisite: Intro to the Butane Torch or equivalent (must be comfortable using a butane torch) Forge a heavy metal cuff bracelet with unique cut out design elements. In this advanced metals class students will learn to draw, cut, file, texture and form a cuff bracelet from sheet metal. a variety of methods for creating the cut out design will be applied and finished with basic metal patinas. This modern/tribal piece lends itself well to many variations. Sunday, august 9th 10:30-4:30pm RUFFLED HEART PENDANTS - $40 Instructor: Christina Level: Intermediate/advanced Prerequisite: Intro to Torch or equivalent (must be comfortable using a butane torch) Create one-of-a-kind ruffled heart pendants in this easy metals forming class. Students will learn how to anneal metal using a butane micro torch and form dimensional, ruffled hearts from copper blanks or sheets. You ll also learn easy, fun texturing, patina coloring and finishing techniques to create your pendants. Saturday, July 18th 10:30-2:30pm

8 Metalsmithing HEAVY METAL CUFF - $45 Instructor: Christina Level: advanced Prerequisite: Introduction to the Butane Torch (must be comfortable using a butane torch) The cuff bracelet has always been a popular fashion choice as it is easy to wear and can either be simple and elegant or bold and dramatic. In this class you ll begin with texturing and annealing heavier gauge copper or brass and applying a heat patina. You ll then cut and form this metal into a cuff bracelet of your own design. Sunday, June 21st 10:30-4:30pm EASY METAL ETCHING - $45 Instructor: Christina Level: any Prerequisite: Prior work with metals helpful, but not mandatory In this metals class, students will learn to transfer hand drawn and rubber stamp images onto the surface of copper or brass. a low-tech solution will be used to etch the design onto the surface of the metal to create a three-dimensional image. Incorporate the pieces you create in class into pendants and earrings. This process is very simple and easy to replicate at home. Feel free to bring rubber stamps you d like to work with. Wear play clothes. Sunday, May 31st 10:30-4:30pm Saturday, august 1st 10:30-4:30pm ETCHED BULLET CASINGS - $45 PENDANT & EARRING SET Instructor: Christina Level: Intermediate/advanced Prerequisite: Easy Metal Etching or prior etching experience In this etching class, students will further their etching skills by learning to transfer images onto brass bullet shells. a variety of transfer methods will be covered as well as dif- ferent etching solutions. You ll leave class with a unique pendant and set of earrings perfect for gifts or your own wardrobe! all supplies provided. Tools provided for use in class. Please wear play clothes. Saturday, august 15th 10:30-4:30pm FOLD FORMING METAL - LEAVES - $45 Instructor: Christina Level: Intermediate/advanced Prerequisite: Introduction to the Butane Torch (must be comfortable using a butane torch) and Wire I or equivalent Turn flat metal shapes into textured, dimensional leaf components for jewelry. In this fundamental metals class, students will learn the versatile and extremely fun skill of fold forming. Take your basic torch and metal skills in a whole new direction while creating a metal garden of unique pieces. In class, students s will learn how to anneal metal and use simple texturing, patinas and finishing techniques to create a necklace, bracelet or pair of earrings. Saturday, June 20th 10:30-4:30pm

9 Metalsmithing HEAT PATINAS - $35 Instructor: Christina Level: Intermediate Prerequisite: headpins with a Torch or Equivalent (must be comfortable using a butane torch) Create stunning and vibrant surface coloration with heat on copper and brass in this intermediate level patinas class. In class, students will use a butane torch to explore flame painting using the metal s surface as a canvas. Applying solution patinas to achieve more controlled effects and sealants will also be covered. Friday, august 28th TEXTURED, DAPPED & COLORED DISC BRACELETS - $45 Instructor: Christina Level: Beginner Prerequisite: Some experience with wire working or metals helpful but not mandatory Learn some great new metals skills while creating a linked disc bracelet in this fast paced and fun metals class. We will cover a variety of new tools and techniques, including: texturing, dapping, piercing, coloring and assembly. These are versatile skills that you can apply in a variety of ways to your metal and wire work. Sunday, august 23rd 10:30-2:30pm UPCYCLED TIN EARRINGS - $35 Instructor: Christina Level: Beginner Prerequisite: None In this incredibly fun and easy earring class, students will repurpose metal containers once used to store cookies, tea, coffee, tobacco, candies, etc., into colorful, light-weight earrings. Students will learn how to properly deconstruct a tin, cut, pierce, file, and connect shapes into one of a kind earrings. Tools and Tins will be available for use in class but please bring any from home you would like to work with. Please bring a pair of inexpensive gardening gloves (the kind with rubber palms work great) Saturday, august 29th 10:30-3:30pm Chainmaille BASIC BYZANTINE CHAIN - $30 Instructor: Michael Level: Beginner Prerequisite: None This class will walk you through the basics of chainmaille and one of its most basic weaves: the byzantine chain. You will learn about basic chainmaille tools, materials and weaves in this class. Friday, June 26th Sunday, august 2nd INVERTED ROUND CHAIN - $30 Instructor: Kara Level: Beginner Prerequisite: Basic Byzantine Chain or prior chainmaille experience Build on your chainmaille skills with this tubular bracelet. This weave looks great on its own or can be filled with beads or cord for a new look. Saturday, May 2nd 12-3pm

We ll show you how the pros do it. With the jig, bracelets are made in half the time and with none of the hassles of the clipboard method. FASHION MACRAME- $35 Instructor: Nicky Level: any Prerequisite: None Saturday, May 16th Friday, June 12th Thursday, July 16th Sunday, august 30th Learn basic macramé to make these great fashionable bracelets. You ve seen these in small boutiques and fashion catalogs. We will finish a bracelet in class, so you ll learn to add the findings for a professional look. The macramé adjustable slide you learn in this class is everywhere and customers continuously ask us how it s done. Saturday, June 13th 3-6pm Bead & Cord CROCHET WRAP BRACELETS - $25 Instructor: Nicky Level: any Prerequisite: PRIOR CROChET EXPERIENCE REQuIREd You ve seen it in catalogs like Sundance Jewelry. This technique is quick and fun and looks a lot more complicated than it really is. We ll teach you how to incorporate beads into your crochet wrap bracelets. You will make a wrap bracelet in class and learn to attach the findings. Sunday, June 14th Friday, august 21st Epoxy Resin & Clay INTRODUCTION TO EPOXY CLAY - $35 Instructor: Kristin Level: any Prerequisite: None Learn the basics of working with apoxie epoxy clay. It can be used as an adhesive, and cures without heat or special equipment into a solid, durable piece. In class you will learn the basics of working with epoxy clay as well as mixing custom colors, adding embelishments for unique pendants, transfering images to epoxy clay, and creating focal beads and charms using molds. You will also learn a unique faux stone technique that can be used to create custom pendants, beads, buttons and more! Sunday, May 31st

11 Epoxy Resin & Clay RESIN I: RESIN PICTURE PENDANTS - $45 Instructor: Kristin Level: any Prerequisite: None You will learn the basics of using epoxy resin to create custom picture pendants. We will cover techniques for filling bezels and doming tiles using photographs, decorative paper, printed images and other 2d objects. The pieces made in class will need to cure for 72 hours and can be picked up at the store as soon as 3 days after the class. Wear play clothes. Please do not wear loose clothing to class. Bringing additional printed materials or photographs to practice with is optional. There will be an optional, free second session to learn finishing techniques. Saturday, May 30th (optional finishing class: Saturday, June 6th 11-12pm) Sunday, July 5th (optional finishing class: Sunday, July 12th 11-12pm) RESIN II - $55 EMBEddINg, CaSTINg & MOLd MaKINg Instructor: Kristin Level: Intermediate Prerequisite: Resin I or equivalent (must be comfortable mixing and using 2 part epoxy resin) In this fast paced class you will learn a wide variety of new intermediate and advanced skills that will unleash your imagination, including mold making and casting. The pieces made in class will need to cure for 72 hours and can be picked up at the store as soon as 3 days after the class. Please do not wear loose clothing to class. There will be a free, optional second session to learn professional finishing techniques and address any issues or questions you might have about your cured pieces. Sunday, august 23rd 11-4pm (optional finishing class: Sunday, August 30th 11-12:30pm) COLD ENAMELING - $35 Instructor: Kristin Level: any Prerequisite: Resin I or equivalent (must be comfortable mixing and using 2 part epoxy resin) Cold enameling adds lasting color and depth to your jewelry pieces. The effect is like kiln enameling, but without the glass powders, torch or kiln. The process is quick, easy to learn, and opens up new creative possibilities like custom colors. Some of the pieces made in class will need to cure for 72 hours and can be picked up at the store as soon as 3 days after the class. Wear play clothes. Sunday, July 19th 1-4pm MIXED MEDIA PENDANTS- $55 Instructor: Kristin Level: Intermediate Prerequisite: Resin I (Familiarity with two part epoxy clay helpful, but not necessary) Create custom and unique pieces of wearable art using epoxy resin, epoxy clay, blanks, charms, stampings, paper, stamps, found objects and much, much more. You will learn a myriad of new techniques, then be set free to experiment and create. Feel free to bring any small objects you would like to incorporate. Wear play clothes.
