Presentations on CDAC's various projects such as e-basta, e-sign and a General talk on CDAC planned for 3rd July 2015 to 6th July Necessary arrangements made in place for the visitors to understand about CDAC, its R&D activities and the cutting edge technologies, Solutions we are working on. C-DAC Delhi Webcasting of movie on DIW at II floor for those employees who did not attend the DIW launch. Event Name Awareness session on Digital India Initiatives (a) No. of people who participated in the programme 82 (b) Location - Jain Group School, Hyderabad About Program:- An awareness session was organized to the students of Jain Heritage Group of Schools, Kondapur, Hyderabad on 2 nd July, 2015 from 2.00 PM 3.30 PM as part of the Digital India Week celebrations. Classes from 8 th, 9 th and 10 th are actively participated (about 82 students) in the awareness workshop on Digital India and C-DAC s services in the field of Education domain. All the students were briefed about Digital India,C-DAC products and service in the domain of Education - Digital Learning Resource, Online G K Quiz, Career Guidance, Digital Literacy, Children s corner, Meena Stories, Sanitation and Hygiene, Information security Education. Instant Quiz was also organized as part of the session and all the winners were awarded with instant prizes like T-shirts, Pens and label stickers were distributed to all the participated students. Students were suggested to participate in the

3 C-DAC Kolkata Col Asheet Kumar Nath, Executive Director, CDAC, Kolkata gave a presentation to scientists and staff of CDAC, Kolkata on products developed & emerging technologies in CDAC, Kolkata. Group Captain Manas Mukutmoni was invited as the Chief Guest of the event. Executive Director, explained the pillars of Digital India initiative, and extolled the virtues of the initiative. He proceeded to explain the products developed by CDAC, Kolkata and the future technologies thrust areas of the Centre. He invited the gathering to identify the niche technologies required by the nation as part of DI initiative and work towards fulfilling the cherished goals. The Chief Guest of the occasion appreciated the work of CDAC, Kolkata and asked the scientist to come up with innovative and cost effective IT solution for the betterment of the life of

4 common man. He expressed that we must take this golden opportunity extended to us through the DIW initiative by the dynamic Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi. C-DAC Mumbai Films on egovernance, mygov, TV Ads, Biometric Authentication system etc. were shown at C-DAC Mumbai Juhu Campus. 69 participants attended the session. Video link of the above activity is as given below: Speech and essay competition on Digital India and its Scope was organized for students at C-DAC Mumbai Kharghar Campus.

5 80 students participated with full enthusiasm in the essay competition and 10 of them delivered speech on Digital India, making the Digital India Day 2 post- launch event a grand success at Khaghar centre. C-DAC Mohali The showcasing of a host of IT products and technologies like Wireless ECG, Wireless Digital Stethoscope, Automated Bio-Chemistry Analyzer, Awareness Kiosk under IT for Masses scheme, Unicode Convertor, e-mulazim, e-sanjeevani developed by the Centre commenced which would continue for the entire week for the benefit of the public, research scholars and the student community. Students thronged from different colleges across Punjab vis-a-vis Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar, Chandigarh Engineering College, Chandigarh, Rayat & Bahra Institute of Engineering & Bio-Technology, Kharar, Shaheed Udham Singh College of Engineering & Technology EduBOSS training was also conducted at Government Model High School,Sector 7, Chandigarh. The main focus was to impart awareness regarding Open Source and its benefits. The students of class 9th and 10th participated in the training and were made familiar with this new Operating System developed by C-DAC. This Operating System has already been installed in all the Government Schools under Chandigarh administration.

6 C-DAC Pune C-DAC Pune organized symposium on 2 nd July 2015 from 14:30 hrs. to 1730 hrs. Around 120 participants from Pune Institute of Computer Technology (PICT), Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) attended this programme. The program started with AV of recorded clipping of Hon ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi s speech at the launch of Digital India Week at Indira Gandhi Stadium, New Delhi. Chief guest Mr. Raghu Bhargava, Director, Finance, C-DAC talked about importance of services to rural masses through the use of technology. He mentioned about C-DAC s e-sign program and wished success for Digital India. Dr. N. Subramanian, Joint Director, R&D from C-DAC explained the intricacies of e-hastakshar (Online Digital Signing Service) and answered various queries of students. Mr. Ashish Kuvelkar, Associate Director, ESHP, C-DAC talked about Digital future How C-DAC is shaping it for Indians. He explained the vision of Digital India with apt examples and elaborated about C-DAC s contributions in various areas. The program ended with a video of PARAM-YUVA (High Performance Computer) followed by question and answer session with the students.

7 C-DAC Silchar C-DAC Silchar organized an in-house awareness program for its members C-DAC Bangalore Technical presentation and Demo Mr Senthil Kumar presented various solutions being developed at Real Time software systems group. Real-time Systems for Power Sector (Smart Grid) also explained. Ms Supriya Pal, Ms Karthika and Ms Nobby from ICT for social welfare team presented and demonstrated e-saadhya and Shradha. e-saadhya is deployed in 20+ schools across India, more underway. Shradha is to enrich the existing Human Computer Interaction (HCI) techniques to improve the ease of use factor specifically for elderly.

8 e-governance products and solutions The e-governance products and solutions were presented by Dr. Kumari Roshni V. S, Dr. Mohammed Misbahuddin and Jitendra Kumar. The presentations and demo included various products like e-pramaan which is a National e-authentication Service along with Aadhaar, Single Sign-on (SSO) using SAML 2.0. This also covered web site authentication, process flow for citizen, Process flow for e-gov services etc.

9 Information security awareness program for BMRCL, Bangalore employees. ISEA awareness program is to give information security awareness to common people, parents and children. The topics covered, how widely internet is used by common people today so that what are the threat may be faced while using internet. In the class various terms like malwares, phishing, pharming, cyber bullying etc were explained. Some of the real time cyber crimes were explained as an example. Video was played which is related to identity protection, set parental control for internet usage, and cyber bulling against children. Common security steps which can be taken for safe use of personal and office system was explained.
