2 Organizers Founded in 1961, the Centre National d Etudes Spatiales (CNES) is the government agency responsible for shaping and implementing France s space policy in Europe. Its task is to invent the space systems of the future, bring space technologies to maturity and guarantee France s independent access to space. CNES is a pivotal player in Europe s space programme, and a major source of initiatives and proposals that aim to maintain France and Europe s competitive edge. It conceives and executes space programmes with its partners in the scientific community and industry, and is closely involved in many international cooperation programmes-the key to any farreaching space policy. The agency s more-than 2,400-strong workforce constitutes an exceptional pool of talent, with some 1,800 engineers and executives, 35% of whom are women.through its ability to innovate and its forward-looking vision, CNES is helping to foster new technologies that will benefit society as a whole, focusing on: Ariane, Sciences, Observation, Telecommunications, Defence. More information at The General Secretariat for Research and Technology/GSRT is part of the Ministry of Education, Research and Religious Affairs and is supervised by the Deputy Minister for Research and Innovation. GSRT funds, through competitive R&D&I programmes, research activities of both academia and industry, in areas of importance for the Greek economy and society, and supports knowledge transfer and dissemination of their results to industry. GSRT represents Greece in all relevant bodies of the European Union and in major International Organisations of R&D nature, and promotes bilateral cooperation in Science and Technology with a multitude of countries. Moreover, GSRT supervises and finances the operations of 19 important research and technology institutions, while promoting the dissemination of S&T knowledge at national level and contributing towards raising the general public s S&T awareness. With respect to Space in particular, the Greece s membership in the European Space Agency (ESA) represents a major milestone for the involvement of the country in the Space sector. Greece officially became a full ESA member in GSRT is the public authority responsible for coordinating, monitoring and funding all activities related to Greece's participation in ESA; the Secretary General for Research and Technology is the Head of the Greek Delegation to ESA. Moreover, Greece actively participates in all initiatives of the European Union related to Space (e.g. Horizon 2020, Copernicus, Galileo); GSRT is responsible for Greece s representation and participation in most of these programmes and activities. More information at Aerospace Valley is a bi-regional non-for-profit competitiveness cluster dedicated to aeronautics, space and embedded systems. With its main office located in Toulouse, and a local office in Bordeaux, the cluster covers two geographically adjacent regions in the South-West of France: Midi-Pyrénées and Aquitaine. Aerospace Valley gathers 807 members from industry and research including amongst others 471 SMEs as well as large corporate groups and OEMs, major aerospace research establishments, engineering schools and local authorities. Overall, Aerospace Valley represents 1/3 of the French aerospace workforce totaling over 130,000 industrial employments in 1,600 industrial establishments. The annual turnover of companies related to the aerospace sector contributes to the overall economic development of Midi-Pyrénées by around 65% and to the one of Aquitaine by 40%. In terms of R&D activities, a total of 8,500 researchers and scientists are active in the Aerospace Valley territory: this represents 45% of the total French national R&D potential in the sectors of aeronautics, space and embedded systems. 3 The si-cluster (Greek Space Technologies and Applications Cluster) is the sole industry-led cluster focusing on of space technologies and applications in Greece. It was established in 2008 as a joint initiative of Corallia and the Hellenic Association of Space Industries. It currently consists of 50 committed members and other stakeholders, out of which 48 industrial and 12 academic, representing the majority of the Aerospace sector in Greece. The vision of the si-cluster is to create a world class cluster on space technologies and applications. Striving for this vision, the mission is to place Greece amid the countries which currently develop cutting-edge space technologies and applications. The goal of the si-cluster is to develop Greece as a leading region for space technologies and applications with a high international visibility, capable of developing and attracting high impact research, innovation and business activities. The main thematic focus of the si-cluster is in: aerospace electronics, remote sensing applications, materials & structures and robotics. Approximately 75% of its members are located in the Attica Region, with the others located in the regions of Western Greece and Central Macedonia. The si-cluster members have an export ratio of over 40%, and employ locally close to 2,000 professionals, out of which 30% are highly skilled personnel holding a PhD or MSc degree. More information at B2B Organisers PRAXI Network is a technology transfer organization with long-standing experience in assisting SMEs and research organisations throughout Greece to achieve cross-border technological cooperation. Its mission is to enhance the competitiveness of Greek SMEs and research organisations by creating links between research and industry, promoting innovation and entrepreneurship as well as fostering transnational cooperation. It was formed in 1991 by FORTH in cooperation with the Hellenic Federation of Enterprises, later reinforced by the Federation of Industries of Northern Greece. Between 1995 and 2008, PRAXI Network was nominated by the European Commission as one of Europe s Innovation Relay Centers. Since 2008, PRAXI Network provides innovation and technology transfer services as coordinator of the Greek consortium of the Enterprise Europe Network, the largest network of integrated business support to Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). In parallel, the General Secretariat for Research & Technology in Greece appoints PRAXI Network as the National Contact Point for the Framework Programmes for Research and Technological Development and currently Horizon 2020 (including SPACE theme), rendering it an official entity for information and advisory support for EU-funded research programmes. More information at Acting in support of the economic growth of the Midi-Pyrénées region is the mission of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Midi-Pyrénées (CCI MP). Advising companies through the whole innovation process is one its main activities to fulfil this mission. This is done through the innovation services provided as a member of the Enterprise Europe Network, but also through specific tools developed on its own or by other Chambers of Commerce and Industry. SMEs are the main beneficiaries of the services provided by CCI MP. Each year, CCI advisers in Midi-Pyrénées meet around 500 companies (mainly SMEs) and support more than 200 innovation projects. CCI MP has been a member of the Enterprise Europe Network for 8 years and since the beginning of 2015 is the coordinator of the consortium EENSO-France, gathering four regions in the South-West of France.
