She was previously in charge of the Department for WTO and Trade Developments at the same governmental agency. As the Swedish Internal Market authority, the National Board of Trade hosts several EU functions and contact points as Sweden s Solvit Centre, IMI, the Point of single contact, the Product contact point, as well as the noticification procedures for goods and services. Agnès has post-graduated in Political Science and International Law at the University of Aix Marseille III (France) and earned a Diploma of Advanced European Studies in International Economics at the College of Europe in Bruges (Belgium). 3

4 ETUC Thiébaut Weber Confederal Secretary Thiébaut Weber was elected as ETUC Confederal Secretary at the Paris Congress in He is a young trade unionist and former student activist in his native France. He is a member of the Confédération Française Démocratique du Travail, and in 2007 started work with the CFDT as a youth delegate, then in 2014 as political advisor on issues including international and European affairs. Between 2011 and 2013 he was President of the ETUC Youth Committee. Born in Mulhouse, France, he went to the University of Haute-Alsace to study history, which remains one of his passions. During his studies he became President of the Federative Association of Upper Rhine Students in 2005, then of the Federation of General Student Unions (FAGE) in In 2014, Thiébaut completed a Master s degree in Anticipation and Management of Employment and Skills at the University of Paris 1. He is also an enthusiastic reader and rugby player. 4

He is also specifically in charge of competition policy and state aid. Before joining BUSINESSEUROPE, Guido worked as a lawyer in the US, France, Italy and Brussels for international firms specialised in EU law. He also worked as an external expert for the European Economic and Social Committee, and used to be lecturer of EU law at the University of Sassari (Italy) and visiting lecturer in other Italian universities. 5

8 Insurance Europe Nicolas Jeanmart Head of personal insurance, general insurance & macroeconomics As head of Insurance Europe s personal insurance, general insurance and macroeconomics department, Nicolas Jeanmart contributes to the global and European debates affecting the non-life and life insurance sectors. He is also involved in the discussions on financial stability, with a particular focus on the question of systemic risk in insurance. Prior to joining Insurance Europe in November 2010, Nicolas worked for the European Savings Banks Group (ESBG), where he held various positions, culminating in four years as head of the banking supervision and economic affairs department. This position entailed notably the responsibility for representing the interests of Europe s savings and retail banks in the discussions on global bank capital requirements frameworks (Basel II and Basel III). During his time at the ESBG, he also acted as the secretariat for various working groups and committees of the European Banking Industry Committee, the platform representing the entire European banking industry. In his earlier career he provided consultancy and training services, primarily to the financial sector, in Belgium and Luxembourg. Nicolas is a Belgian/French national. He holds a master s degree in business engineering, as well as degrees in European integration and development and in computer sciences. 8
