More than 2,700 diploma-holding applicants from different disciplines were interviewed, including engineers, accountants, technicians, and administrators, as well as secondary school certificate holders. Applicants who successfully complete the interview process will then attend spe- job descriptions. These interviews, which were conducted over the course of two weeks, were organized and supervised by KOC, represented by Team Leader CMK Sourcing and Recruiting Jamal Al-Hashash at Ahmadi Park. Special committees composed of three individuals (representative of CMK, supervisor of the contract and the contractor, in addition to an observer for each committee) were formed to interview the applicants. 2 2 Process Safety Management Community Holds Meeting Meeting was attended by KOC CEO Jamal Abdul Aziz Jaafar and his Deputies The Kuwait oil sector s Process Safety Management Community recently held its third meeting as part of its ongoing series of sessions. The event was attended by KOC CEO Jamal Abdul Aziz Jaafar, DCEO Major Projects and Technical Services Khalid Al-Otaibi, DCEO Corporate Services Abdul Wahab Al-Mithin, a number of Group Managers, and various Company employees. A number of DCEOs and relevant officials from several K-Companies attended the meeting, which was held at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Salwa. During the meeting, several lectures were delivered on process safety management in the oil sector. In addition, it was announced that KOC had joined the Center for Chemical Process Safety. It is the first company in Kuwait s oil sector to take this important initiative. KOC Participates in Enterprise Risk Management Community Forum Event organized by the Petrochemical Industries Company KOC recently participated in the first forum of the Enterprise Risk Management Community in the oil sector, which was organized by the Petrochemical Industries Company. Political, geopolitical, regulatory and legal risks encountered in the oil and gas sector were discussed during the event. The Company was represented by a delegation headed by KOC CEO Jamal Abdul Aziz Jaafar, and included a number of Group Managers, Team Leaders, and employees. A number of senior figures from the oil sector also attended the forum. Dr. Rafidah Al-Mayaan from the Industrial and Administrative Systems Engineering Department at Kuwait University delivered a presentation which provided an overview of the challenges of risk management in the oil and gas industry, where she discussed the types of risks encountered by the oil and gas sector, including political, geopolitical, legal, and other regulatory risks. Musleh Al-Otaibi, Management Support Group Manager, noted the importance of the community in acquiring knowledge and sharing best practices on enterprise risk management topics among members, as it has an active role in sharing related experiences. Meanwhile, Team Leader Enterprise Risk Management Rakan Al-Ajmi issued a statement in which he upheld the importance of raising awareness of comprehensive Enterprise Risk Management methods and procedures while also promoting a positive culture in this domain.

3 3 KOC Holds Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign Several events took place at various locations in Kuwait KOC recently held its annual breast cancer awareness campaign, which coincides with similar global events held in October each year. Acting KOC CEO Ahmad Al-Hamad sponsored and attended the event held in Al-Hamra Complex, Kuwait City. PR&I Group Manager Mohammad Al-Basry and Health Promotion Unit Head Dr. Intisar Al-Hindal also attended the three-day event. The Company s pavilion included a number of awareness topics, and employees distributed prevention and treatment tips. An area dedicated to children with many interactive activities was also set up for visitors to enjoy. A similar event also took place at the Avenues Mall, where specialists from Ahmadi Hospital also took part. Moreover, a number of cancer survivors were present at the pavilion to talk about their experiences. Furthermore, and in the presence and sponsorship of KOC CEO Jamal Abdul Aziz Jaafar, a third event was held in cooperation with the MoH Information Office at the entrance of Ahmadi Hospital. Organizers distributed learning tools and discussed the importance of early detection and prevention. A number of departments from the hospital also held similar pavilions, and the event witnessed the participation of several heath centers and related companies. Additionally, and in the presence and sponsorship of Projects Support Services Group Manager Mihsin Al-Shammari, the QHSE Team held another event within the campaign that was held in the New Taameer Building Auditorium. A number of TLs and a number of female employees from different Directorates attended the event, where Dr. Al-Hindal delivered a related presentation.

4 4 Technical Committee for Exploration & Production Holds 4 th Meeting Several elements were agreed upon to enrich cooperation between departments Under the patronage of DCEO Drilling & Technology Abdullah Al-Sumaiti, the Technical Committee for Exploration and Production in the Oil Sector recently held its fourth meeting in the presence of representatives of three companies involved in oil exploration and production. The companies that attended included KOC, KUFPEC, and KGOC. Manager Research and Development Group Ahmad Al- Jasmi, Manager Research and Technology Group Jamal Al-Humoud, and a number of Team Leaders attended the meeting. KOC Takes Part in SEG Annual Meeting DCEO E&G headed the KOC delegation KOC recently made significant technical contributions during the recent Society of Exploration Geophysicists International Exhibition that was held in Anaheim, California. In a statement he made, DCEO E&G Menahi Al-Enezi, who headed KOC s delegation, affirmed the importance of annual attendance to the event, which allows the Company to learn more about the latest developments in the field of geophysics and exchange ideas with IOCs, service companies, universities, and international research centers to aid in advancing Kuwait s oil industry. He also praised SEG s role in all exploration domains, and modern methods in geophysical scans, data gathering and interpretation. On the sidelines of the event, delegation members met the Society s board headed by Nancy House, and discussed KOC s major contribution to the event. House upheld KOC s vital role in presenting several technical papers which aimed to define future topics the Conference will focus on next year. The two sides also discussed the mutual technical workshop that will be held in Kuwait from December 3-5 under the title: The Latest 3D Seismic Data Processing Technologies. Al-Enezi also met WesternGeco President Maurice Nessim and discussed current projects his company handles for KOC.

5 5 KOC Participates in World Digital Refineries Congress Importance of integrating IT with field operations discussed KOC recently participated in the World Digital Refineries Congress, which was held in Kuwait over the course of two days in an event that brought together specialists from around the world. The Company was represented at the event by Manager Corporate Information Technology Group Ali Al-Nakib and TL Information Security Dr. Reem Al-Shammary, who both contributed effectively as main speakers during the panel discussion entitled: Connecting Humans & Technologies to Create Resonance in Infrastructure. Ahmed Al-Mulaifi, IT Manager from Kuwait Integrated Petroleum Industries Company (KIPIC), and Abdullah Makki, DCEO of the Arabesque Group, also participated on the panel. During the discussion session, Al-Nakib and Al-Shammary talked about the importance of integrating information technology with the technology of operations in the oil sector, which is the focus of work in the oil sector, in addition to discussing the technological challenges of this integration, as well as the risks of Cyber Security and best practices to address those issues. KOC Holds Offshore Meeting With Governmental Authorities Ways of cooperation for the Offshore Project were discussed The Exploration Group held a preliminary meeting with a number of government bodies to discuss KOC s Offshore Exploration Drilling Project. The Local Relations Team organized the meeting, which aimed to discuss ways of cooperation and collaboration between KOC and the government to avoid conflict between the services provided by these entities and the project objectives that fall under the Strategic Plan of KPC and KOC. Manager Exploration Mohammed Dawwas Al-Ajmi, Manager PR & Information Mohammad Al-Basry, TL Exploration Operations Mishari Al-Awadi, and TL Local Relations Hasan Al-Shammari attended the meeting. The meeting was part of the many preparations under way for the launching of the Offshore Exploration Drilling Project at KOC, which is in its final stages. The meeting included the following governmental authorities: Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Communication & Information Technology Regulatory Authority, Amiri Guard, Kuwait Coast Guard, Kuwait Port Authority, Ministry of Defense (Marine Force), Public Authority of Agriculture Affairs & Fish Resources, and the Ministry of Electricity and Water (Engineering Programs Department and Environment, Program Planning and Follow-up Department, Water Projects Sector). 6 6 Delegation from KOC Visits Kuwait University To enhance efforts to support joint research work In order to enhance efforts to support the joint research work between Kuwait Oil Company and Kuwait University, and in the framework of the continuous cooperation between the two entities, a VIP delegation from KOC recently visited Kuwait University to discuss various areas of cooperation. The delegation included Manager R&D Ahmad Al-Jasmi, Manager Contracts Ibrahim Al-Kharji, and TL Planning & Support Abdullah Al-Otaibi. The officials held a meeting with KU President Prof. Hussein Al-Ansari and the university s Under Secretary Dr. Muthni Al-Refai. In addition, Vice President Prof. Dr. Jassem Al-Kanadri, Vice President Asst. (Research & External Cooperation & Consult.) Dr. Laila Ma rouf, Vice President Asst. (Research) Dr. Yousef Karashi and Vice President Asst. (Research, Analysis & Control) Prof. Dr. Haidar Behbahani were in attendance. During the meeting, the officials discussed the comprehensive partnership agreement between the two sides in the technical and research fields, which help in overcoming the challenges in the exploration, production and development sector, thus contributing to the Company s various strategies, especially in terms of developing national technical competencies. Safety Team Organizes Safety Discipline Coordination Meeting Matters related to synergy & coordinated safety practices discussed The Safety Team of the HSE Group recently organized the Safety Discipline Coordination meeting at the Hubara Center Assembly Hall. Personnel from the Directorate and various HSE Teams and related parties took part in the meeting. Tareq Al-Aslawi, Ag. Team Leader, welcomed the attendees and highlighted the importance of synergy and the coordinated practice of safety throughout KOC s operations. The session started with an HSE moment presented by Fatima Abdullah, Safety Engineer (UD), followed by a presentation on Level I Incident Analysis by D. Loganathan, Safety Engineer, and a presentation titled: Visit to PDO, Oman Sharing of HSE Best Practices by Christopher Devaraj, Snr. Safety Engineer. An interactive session was held at the end of the meeting where participants from the Directorate/Asset HSE teams provided suggestions on integrating safety efforts. All of the participants expressed the importance of HSE Synergy amidst growing operational challenges and the need for such coordination meetings to pave the way for enhancement and continuous HSE improvement.

7 7 Training Competency Team Launches SOJT Several features discussed which aid the workforce In the presence of Training Competency TL Bashar Al- Khashti, the team launched the Structure On-Job Training (SOJT), which enables employees to learn on the job via a unified training methodology, achieving KOC s objectives which aim to enrich its human resources. The program has several benefits as it has a number of features that aid the workforce to plan and prioritize, in addition to saving a great deal of time consumed by training. The program also supports training in classes, and enables the follow-up of employees while performing their duties. This cost-effective program achieves a number of career goals for employees of different specializations while maintaining the progress of the work they handle. Exploration Group Participates in the International Sedimentological Congress Shamaa Al-Rashidi from Exploration Studies Team selected for Best Poster Award KOC s Exploration Group recently participated in the 20 th International Sedimentological Congress (ISC) that was organized recently by the International Association of Sedimentologists (IAS) in Quebec City, Canada. A poster was presented by Shamaa Al-Rashidi from the Exploration Studies Team on Sedimentology and Diagenetic Modifications of Ratawi Limestone with Reference to Reservoir Characterization. The poster focused on microfacies and their relationship with depositional as well as diagenetic events and the role of these events over reservoir quality in Ratawi Limestone. The study was presented with support from Manager Exploration Group Mohammad Dawwas Al-Ajmi, and under the guidance of TL Exploration Studies Meshal Al- Wadi, while it was supervised by Dr. Dabeer Ahmad Khan. Al-Rashidi was selected for the best poster award presented in the category of Early Career Scientist Award, out of a total of 487 posters. It is the first time that Kuwait wins this award. The Sedimentological Congress is organized once every four years and focuses on the recent developments in sedimentology. It is one of the largest events for sedimentologists globally, and this year more than 1,000 sedimentologists from 51 different countries participated in the event.
