1 Artwork Preparation Guide
2 General notes Artwork Preparation Guide Size, Position and Order When displaying a series of card symbols together, the following rules apply: No logo should occupy a prominent position (usually not more than 10% of the advertising space). No logo should appear larger than the others. None of the logos should be stretched, distorted, overlapped or printed in less than full strength inks to the specification given. The small registered design marks with certain logos must always be included. If a group of card symbols are displayed more than once, you must always show the same symbols, in the same order on each occasion. None may be left out. You cannot show some symbols in colour and others in black and white in the same context. All must be in colour or all in black and white. TV and Website Advertising The rules for use of the logos in TV and Website Advertising are the same as the rules for press, that is: No logo should occupy a prominent position (usually not more than 10% of the screen space) and no logo should appear to endorse your product or service. For further guidance on artwork for individual Card Schemes please see the specific artwork guides enclosed within this pack. If you need further copies of the guide or inserts, or any other advice or assistance, please contact the WorldPay Zinc helpdesk on * Window Decal Stickers WorldPay Zinc provide window and point of sale display decals, free of charge to all our customers. 3 MasterCard Artwork Preparation Guide Standards and artwork for the MasterCard Brand Mark have been developed for use by MasterCard Worldwide, its merchants, members, co-brand partners, and their communication resources. No other standards or artwork should be used to represent the MasterCard brand. The match colour version of the MasterCard Brand Mark is preferred for reproduction in all print media. Colour Versions Whether in print or on-screen, use the colour version of the Brand Mark whenever possible. The colour version may be printed in match colours, process colours, process plus match colours, or used on-screen in RGB. Use the greyscale version of the Brand Mark in print only when technical limitations prohibit the use of full-colour reproduction. The greyscale version of the MasterCard Brand Mark is an acceptable alternate for limited use by merchants to communicate brand acceptance on sales receipts and onecolour ads. The greyscale version must not be used on cards or acceptance decals and signs. The greyscale version of the MasterCard Brand Mark is printed in black ink only. Solid and Outline Versions When it s not possible to use either the colour or greyscale versions of the Brand Mark because of limited reproduction capabilities, use either the solid or outline version, depending on size. The Solid Version of the MasterCard Brand Composite may be reproduced only in sizes where the MasterCard mark is 11.1mm up to 15.9mm in width. For single colour reproduction in sizes smaller than 11.1mm in width, use the Outline Version. Black is the preferred colour for reproducing the Solid Version. This mark replaces the MasterCard and Access mark in existence before This is the only mark that should now be associated with their brand. Colour Version MasterCard Composite No other graphic element may surround or encumber the MasterCard Brand Composite. Use one half of the diameter of one of the circles as a guide to determine the minimum clear space. 4 Minimum Size Colour Version Because of reproduction limitations, minimum sizes for the Brand Marks have been created for print and on-screen use. The minimum size is 17.5mm wide, on screen minimum is 23 pixels high. Standards provided for minimum size must be followed carefully. Authorised artwork can be downloaded from this site Background Colours Colour Version The Brand Marks may be used on a wide range of background colours provided there is sufficient contrast between the background colour and the Brand Mark. Background Colours The greyscale version of the Brand Mark only may be used on white or light-coloured background colours to ensure there is sufficient contrast between the background colour and the Brand Mark. For further information on MasterCard s brand guidelines, and common errors, please visit Minimum Size Because of reproduction limitations, a minimum size for the greyscale version of the MasterCard Brand Mark has been created for print use. The minimum size is 17.5mm wide. Standards provided for minimum size must be followed carefully. 6 Visa Electron Artwork Preparation Guide For point-of-sale requirements, Visa has developed a Visa point-of-sale graphic with the ELECTRON identifier. Colour Version When reproducing a Visa-Owned Mark in any print or online application, all requirements in this section must be followed. The Visa Brand Mark point-of-sale graphic with the ELECTRON identifier may only be used at Merchant locations at which the Visa Electron Cards are accepted. If both Visa Cards and Visa Electron Cards are accepted, the Visa Brand Mark point-of-sale graphic must be used (the Visa Brand Mark with the ELECTRON identifier may also appear). The following requirements are required when the Visa Brand Mark point-of-sale graphic with the ELECTRON identifier is used: Prominently display the Visa Brand Mark point-ofsale graphic with the ELECTRON identifier at or near the main entrance of the physical Merchant location. Display the point-of-sale graphic in Visa Blue and Visa Gold. Display the point-of-sale graphic in a minimum size of 54mm high. Ensure the Visa Brand Mark point-of-sale graphic with the ELECTRON identifier is at least as large as other payment brand marks that are displayed. Increase the size of the Visa Brand Mark point-of sale with the ELECTRON identifier as needed but do not alter the proportions or elements of the point-of-sale graphic in any way. Use the Visa-provided artwork for the Visa Brand Mark point-of-sale graphic with the ELECTRON identifier. Small Size Version Minimum size 12.7mm wide. 7 Visa Point-of-Sale and ATM Use of Marks There are two alternative graphic expressions of the Visa Brand Mark for use at point-of-sale. The first alternative is the Visa Point-of-sale graphic that includes the Visa Brand Mark against a white field and a standardised Visa Blue staging device that frames the left and bottom edge of the white field (Illustration A). The second alternative is the Visa Card graphic that includes the Visa Brand Mark and a standardised white window behind the brand mark Iillustration B). This is the same graphic that appears on Visa payment cards. General rules to follow for application of the Visa point-of-sale graphic and the Visa Card graphic The Visa point-of-sale graphic should appear when presented no less than 2 1/8 inches (54 mm) in height. Present the Visa Card graphic rather than the Visa point-of-sale graphic when the application requires the graphic to be smaller than the 2 1/8 inch minimum size specification (e.g. on payment terminal labels). The Visa Card graphic should be presented on all pointof-sale marketing materials. Examples of marketing materials that should use the Visa Card graphic include check presenters, retail marketing and identification materials that display payment brands, Visa preferred signs and counter mats. The Visa Card graphic should be presented on all online merchant sites. Visa Point-of-Sale Graphic at Physical Merchant Locations The Visa Brand Mark Point-of-Sale graphic must appear at all physical merchant locations that accept Visa products for payment. When displaying the logo please follow the guidelines below: Prominently display the Visa Point-of-Sale graphic decal at or near the main entrance of the merchant location. Display the point-of-sale graphic decal in 2-colour Visa Blue and Visa Gold (1 colour is acceptable when competitive payment marks are also shown in the same 1-colour; see following page for example). Display the point-of-sale graphic decal in a minimum size of 2 1/8 inches (54mm) high. Ensure the point-of-sale graphic is at least as large as every other payment brand mark that is displayed. Scale the Visa Point-of-Sale graphic as needed but do not alter the proportions or elements of the graphic in any way. Visa Point-of-Sale Graphic for Physical Merchant, ATM and Member Locations A. 8 Maestro Artwork Preparation Guide The Maestro logo must always appear in its entirety. The lettering and the circles must appear together. No other graphic elements may surround or encumber the Maestro logo: use the radius of one of the circles as a minimum clear space. The Maestro Dark Blue Acceptance Rectangle provides a consistent, neutral background for all Acceptance Marks and should be used on decals, signs, online and merchant materials. The Maestro Drop Shadow behind the lettering Maestro applies only in the Colour Versions of the Maestro Brand Composite and should appear in the Maestro Dark Blue. It does not apply in the Black Screen, Solid or Outline Versions. The Colour Version may be reproduced in four colour process. The minimum size permitted for the Colour Version is 9.5mm wide. Colour Versions Whether in print or on-screen, use the colour version of the Brand Mark whenever possible. The colour version may be printed in match colours, process colours, process plus match colours, or used on-screen in RGB or hexadecimal colour. Colour versions printed on cards must be printed in match colours. Visually match Maestro Red, Maestro Blue and Maestro Dark Blue to the appropriate Pantone colours when printing in spot colour.
