Students apply knowledge of design principles and processes through skill performance activities. Work experience will be explored and leadership development will be provided through Family, Career and Community Leaders of America. 3 Fashion & Interior Design I 3 Elements/Principles of design Color -Create an original color wheel illustrating the following: primary colors, secondary colors, intermediate colors, complementary colors, and analogous colors. Form/shape Find pictures of 3 fashionable outfits with different shapes and mount them in boxes. They should describe each outfit shape and explain how it would flatter or disguise various parts of the body. Line Draw designs on given body outlines using lines that create particular illusions. They will also be asked to describe the illusions they have tried to create. Texture-Collect and mount fabric swatches that have various textures. Principle of Design Using the elements and principles of design, create an effective brochure that a store might use to promote an upcoming fashion show that will present the new fall styles. Look through current magazines and analyze clothing ads. Ask them to describe how advertisers appeal to consumers emotions. Discuss how to separate factual information from an emotional appeal about a product.
