1 Diploma Electrical Engineering Program Educational Objectives (PEOs) PEO 1: Knowledge: Provide graduates with a strong foundation in mathematics, science and engineering fundamentals to enable them to devise and deliver efficient solutions to challenging problems in electrical, Electronics and allied disciplines. PEO 2: Core Competence: Impart analytic and thinking skills to develop initiatives and innovative ideas for R&D, Industry and societal requirements. PEO 3: Breadth: Provide sound theoretical and practical knowledge of E&C Engineering, managerial and entrepreneurial skills to enable students to contribute to the well-being of society with a global outlook. PEO 4: Preparation: Inculcate qualities of teamwork as well as social, interpersonal and leadership skills and an ability to adapt to evolving professional environments in the domains of engineering and technology. PEO 5: Professionalism: To inculcate in students professional values, effective research communication skills, prioritising problems and solutions and an ability to view electrical engineering issues in broader context. PEO 6: Evaluation: Motivate graduates to become good human beings and responsible citizens for the overall welfare of the society. Programme Outcomes 1. Diploma engineers will be able to demonstrate knowledge of electrical and electronics engineering. 2. Diploma engineers will demonstrate an ability to identify, formulate and solve Industrial, community & research problems. 3. Diploma engineers will demonstrate an ability to analyze and interpret experiments for mathematical modeling and maintenance of the electrical systems. 4. Diploma engineers to Design & Conduct Experiments, as well as Analyze & Interpret Data. 5. Diploma engineers ability to design a System, Component, or Process to meet desired needs with in realistic constraints such as Economic, Environmental, Social, Ethical, Manufacturability, and Sustainability.

Subject: Environment Conservation & Hazard Management Code: ) To improve the quality of life of the local community through management and conservation of natural resources. 2) To ensure that the natural environment is used wisely and continues to be available for the benefit and enjoyment of future generations. 3) To decrease vulnerability and improve adaptation capacity among poor local communities associated with Climate Change

Subject: Applied Mechanics Code: ) To provide a comprehensive knowledge of force, work and energy tocalculate work done, power required and efficiency for various simplemachines. 2) To understand the importance and application of various laws of mechanics. 1) At the end of of the course students will able to solve simple problem of work and energy. 2) At the end of of the course students will able to understand the importance and application of various laws of mechanics. Subject: Basics of Civil Engineering Code: ) To study the basic concepts about civil engineering. 2) To get the field experiments regarding construction and surveying. 1) At the end of the course, the students will be able to recognize the significance of civil engineering in routine life, importance of surveying, importance and requirements of building planning. 2) The student will learn about construction materials, role of transportation as well as of water and its conservation. Subject: Workshop Practice Code: ) To understand how different objects can be made from the given raw material by using different mechanical tools. 2) To introduce students to the basic concepts of manufacturing via shaping, forming, machining 3) To develop a knowledge of appropriate parameters to be used for various machining operations. 4) To develop a knowledge of workshop practice and basic use of machine tools and workshop equipment.

Electrical Machines Laboratory Code: Objective 1) To provide practical, hands-on experience about how to deal with Electrical equipment s like Electrical DC Machine and Transformer. 2) To understand the working condition of different type of machine. Course Outcome 1) Understand basic measurement of Power losses, Efficiency and Characteristic of DC Machine and Transformer.

Subject: Utilization of Electrical Energy Code: ) The objective of the course is to operate and maintain main electrical utilities for their efficient operations. 2) To make them understand concepts of utilization of Electrical Energy. 1) At the closing stage of the course, the students will be able to maintain electric drives used in industries, also identify a heating/welding scheme for a given application. 2) To figure-out the different schemes of traction schemes and its main components and identify the job/higher education/research opportunities in Electric Utilization industry. Subject: Transmission and Distribution of Electrical Power Code: ) To acquaint with the concepts of power system.it deals with basic theory of transmission lines modelling and their performance analysis. 2) It is important for the student to understand the mechanical design aspects of transmission lines, cables, insulators. These aspects are also covered in detail in this course.

Subject: Computer Aided Electrical Design Laboratory Code: ) To provide practical, hands-on experience of electrical engineering design related computer aided softwares. 2) To make them understand concepts of how software related to Electrical engineering works. 1) Students will be able to draw electrical components, electrical circuits, etc. in computer aided softwares. 2) By drawing electrical components in Electrical software they know about simulation of different circuit.

Subject: Microcontroller and Interfacing Code: ) To provide a comprehensive knowledge of overall architecture and programming of microcontroller its practice applications. 1) At the closing stage of the course, the students will be able to know about the embedded system. They will be able to design microcontroller based system. Subject: Power System Analysis Code: ) This subject provides an insight into the basic elements of electrical power transmission and distribution system such as generator, transmission, distribution lines and loads.
