1 Greetings fellow Treasure Hunters... I'd like to begin this month's message by extending my sincere THANKS to all those who participated in, attended or otherwise contributed to the success of this years New England Treasure Show. The event was a huge success with compliments still pouring in. The volume and quality of the displays is a direct reflection of the dedication of our club members to preserving and sharing history, the true essence of our hobby. Young and old alike were entertained and ingratiated in the variety of treasures on display. From thousands of coins, to relics that spanned the centuries from this county's founding to a dazzling display of fine gold and silver jewelry to Native American artifacts that dated to thousands of years before Europeans set foot on these shores. More than one person approached me with a similar impression and stated "This is like going to a museum." In the same breath I would be remiss if I did not publicly thank the many corporate sponsors and local dealers and vendors who set up tables, contributed to the prize raffles and offered their expertise to those in attendance. I would like to thank (in no specific order) First Texas Corporation, Minelab USA, Whites Metal Detectors and specifically White's of New England, Garret Metal Detectors, The Metal Detecting Supply Store of Southborough, Mass., J+E Enterprises of Cape Cod, Ma., Kellyco Metal Detectors, "Lost Treasure" Magazine, "American Digger" Magazine, "Western and Eastern Treasures" Magazine, Author Pat Hughes, The "Lil Rhody Bottle Club," "Gateway Treasure Hunters" of Cape Cod, "Yankee Territory Coin shooters" of Connecticut, The Massachusetts Treasure Hunters Association," Hank Philips for coming down all the way from New Hampshire with his fantastic displays, and of course the staff of Bristol Plymouth Regional Technical School for their tremendous support of our club and our Treasure show. I hope I have not left anyone out. I reiterate my sincere gratitude on behalf of the club officers to ALL of you who supported and attended our show, without you it would not have been the great success that it was. We look forward now to what I personally consider the best and most lucrative time of the year for our hobby. I say every Fall, now is the time to get out there and hit the plowed fields, seek out those wooded sites that may have been inaccessible during the summer, scan the salt and freshwater beaches to see what may have been left behind and utilize this cooler weather to your full advantage. As always I ask you to be mindful of the tremendous attention now drawn to our hobby. Please adhere to the "Detecting code of ethics." Your actions and the actions of your hunting partner/s will determine the future of our hobby. Let's not give our critics any fuel to seek further restrictions on our beloved pastime. In fact make note and highlight the "Good deeds" performed by our members. Share the love of this hobby with the younger generations, whether through an elementary school presentation or perhaps a presentation on Treasure hunting to a Boy Scout or Girl Scout organization. Lets work together to ensure this hobby is preserved for future generations. Please be safe when entering the woods during hunting season. For the club officers... Joe B. 12 50/50 Winner Joe Baker Sr. Meeting Minutes Club Meeting began at 6:30 PM. From President Joe B Jr.- A full meeting was held with a 50/50 raffle. 47 members in attendance. Treasurer's Report: The details of the Treasurer's Report was read. The document was displayed on the head table for anyand all members to review at tonight's meeting. A full meeting was held with a 50/50 raffle. Beverages and snacks were held after the meeting.

13 Volume 9 Issue About Our Club: The Silver City Treasure Seekers Club of Taunton, Massachusetts started back in 2001 by Bill Henderson and is dedicated to the promotion of metal detecting as a hobby. Membership is open to the public with the only requirement being that all members follow the Treasure Hunters Code of Ethics. The Club's yearly dues for 2014 are $35.00 for family and $25.00 per individual. We gather at 6:30 PM on the first Friday of every month at the Bristol-Plymouth Technical High School, 940 County St. (Rt. 140), Taunton, MA. There are currently over 50 active members that participate in various club meetings, Annual Treasure Show, club hunts and coin contests held each year. Monthly meetings are scheduled for two hours, the first hour being Club business and the second being discussions, coin and relic exhibits, find of the month contests with prizes, 50/50 prize and raffle drawings and an occasional guest speaker. Items may be borrowed for ONE month at a time. See Scott Arsenault at the next meeting to sign-out any items that you may wish to borrow.
