The club is a member of the Federation of Metal Detector and Archeological Clubs Inc. It is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the promotion of metal detecting as a hobby. No brand or model of metal detector is endorsed by the club. Membership is open to the public with the only requirement being that all members follow the Treasure Hunters Code of Ethics. Club dues are $25.00 per family yearly. Any comments or stories that you would like to contribute to your newsletter are always welcome. MEETINGS: First Tuesday of each month. 2 The Secretary s Report General Meeting - September 3rd, 2002 of the Three Forks Treasure Hunters Club. The meeting started at 7:40pm with 30 people present. President Nancy Coffey began by letting us know there was still not a program on gold. But she filled us in on what a good trip they had to Alaska were they helped build platforms for a church camp and got to see some of Gods natural beauty we don't have around here - the ocean, animals like moose and glaciers forming beautiful clear streams. They also got to come back by Custer's battle site park and she the monument. Next we went to the shared prizes there was 15 prizes donated this month and the 50/50 going to Paul Mattes at $ We then had the drawing for donation and it went to Jim Simmons. Get your Three Forks Newsletter by Now! Last month I ed our newsletter to 32 people. This was a test run. I asked everyone to me back and let me know if they were able to open it up alright and how long it took. I got about seven replies. I also gave everyone a choice to receive their newsletter by every month, by paper, or both ways. Since everyone s dues pays for their newsletter I believe you ought to get a choice. The advantage of getting it by is that you get to see everything in color, you can zoom in on stuff, and you can save our club money. I also spoke to some members at the meetings and asked their preferences. So far only two people has had trouble with it. Twelve want it by which will save The club about $15.00 a month and two people want it both ways, which is fine. I will be sending it by again to everyone I have an address for. Plus a few people I missed last month. If I don t get a reply this time from the people I didn t hear back from last month, I ll just send it to you by paper until you let me know. If I don t have your address get a hold of me. Next we had the amateur find of the month contest awards with 7 people entering. Then we had the pros find of the month with 6 people entered. The golden Eagle award went to Jim Simmons for his Good for Token from Savanna, I.T. After we took a short break we had the other drawings, display drawing went to Jim Simmons silver drawing went to Gene Coffey twice for both prizes. attendance drawing also went to Gene Coffey. So luck must have been with Jim Simmons and Gene Coffey this month. We then discussed other possible programs and one on military uniforms was mentioned for maybe either next month or the one after it. Know one had any ideas for outing hunts because of it being so dry and the grass to high. The meeting was then closed, Secretary Tony Morris The oldest house in Tulsa still in existence.
